Loved the decor of this hotel, felt very "zen" and I had the perfect night's sleep.

From the outside, I really thought the hotel wasn't much. The inside however is very beautiful. I read a lot of reviews about the staff being rude or unhelpful, but that was not the case during my stay. Everyone who helped us was great; thy even went above and beyond to help us. I would recommend this hotel to others but make sure you ask for a room on the back of the hotel away from the elevator. Our rooms were on the front and it was very noisy. There is a bar across the street that plays loud music until after midnight every night. The rooms themselves are not sound-proof. You can hear the elevator sounds and people in the […] hallway. I left an expensive shirt on the bed in the room (white on white so missed it), and contacted the Housekeeping Manager, who was no help. Then I send an email to the General Manager, and received no reply at all. I expect much more from an expensive hotel.

The location, the service and the atmosphere of the hotel were great. So much you can do and so many places you can go for entertainment. Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I did not get to enjoy the beauty of the hotel. I really wanted to do that rooftop happy hour. We were there for a two day concert. Long weekend with my wife had a great time. the place to stay in Miami, it is close to everything. The hotel offers roomservice and a great breakfast for it's guest. it is walking distance to everything you need. I have been coming here for 30 years and never an issue we love it, so will you.

We spent 3 nights in Miami before going heading to Cuba. Mayfair had great ratings online and the pictures looked good. Upon arrival I was disappointed how skimpy the lobby and the reception dest was. The hotel is old, has nice spanish style tile work, with a veranda opening in the middle. The service was just ok. Few calls to housekeeping and room service took 20 minutes! At some point might have been a 4* hotel, but not now. The rooms were great. The room included a sitting area. The bathroom was spacious and it had a balcony with a hot tub. They had a big buffet in the dining room for breakfast, but it was not cheap. Though I could see a marina from the rooftop, it was not easy to get to. The surrounding neighborhood has lots of stores and restaurants, but it felt a little run down and deserted. A decent hotel that needs updating. Location is ok in coconut grove but not very close to south beach or coral gable. The staff are ok and vary from very good to not very good. Value is good. The rooms are fine, jacuzzi are additional cost (30 dollars one time fee), gym equipment is aging. The wifi is useable but slow. The customer service was awful, especially by this one girl in particular name Adriana. Everything else about the hotel was fine, but I would never stay there again while she is working there. She was rude, obnoxious, and not helpful. Completely ruined my experience there at the hotel.

The Mayfair is in a great location in Coconut Grove and has all that one would ask for in a quality, but not overly expensive hotel. The Coco Walk is across the street and offers a typical mini-mall like sampling of food, drink & stores. If you go up Main Hwy. a block or two and down Commodore St., you'll find plenty of better dining and drinking options, […] though. We especially liked The Lokal (that's how they spelled it) bar/restaurant. No problem to get to South Beach for a day trip if you have a car, not sure how easy on public transportation, though. Head over the short distance to Coral Gables, as well and check that community out. Quite impressive in many respects. Recommend parking across the street from the Mayfair if you're only going in and out only once per day. That cost only $8 to $10 vs. the $26 for valet at the hotel. Did not eat at the hotel, but it looked kind of pricey - The drinks we had defintely were, but no t a surprise. A four night stay is the perfect length for your visit here. Have fun, we did! While we only stayed one night at the Mayfair, we would go back again in a heartbeat. The downstairs restaurant serves up a lovely wood-fired pizza, it is right across the street from the shops at Coco Walk in Miami, and the Japanese soaking tub on the balcony is a nice, affordable amenity. Our room was quiet, the bathroom spacious and well-appointed. […] Questions to staff were answered quickly and completely. The Japanese soaking tub is a small extra charge, but now that we know we'd definitely use it. The room did smell mildewy like other people have said. We didn't have any issues with the front desk staff. They weren't unpleasant, but nothing to rave about either. Our room was spacious, but the view was horrible (a brick wall) and I was surprised that we got it given that the hotel was pretty dead. Location was great - it is located near the water and in the middle of the best sights in Coconut Grove. We were there during the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and it was convenient and near the action. Our room was clean and comfortable if a little ordinary. We had a small balcony but no view - we looked across a very small space at a concrete wall. […] We found the service to be indifferent. Nobody seemed particularly eager to help us. No real problems with service (other than delays in getting our balcony hot tub activated and the housekeeping staff pestering us on the morning we left), but at the same time everyone seemed a little bored and not particularly helpful. The bartender at the rooftop lounge didn't smile or seem friendly, and the waitress at the rooftop lounge didn't approach our table once. The hotel has the potential to be good. Location is great and the overall installation is ok though a little old. The worse part was that there was a roach in our bathroom when we arrived and for the price and standard of the hotel the maid service was horrible. I grew up in Miami but have lived away for twenty years. I wanted to avoid South Beach hotels and stay in a more central quieter location with easy access to the rest of Miami. I found a deeply discounted room rate on Expedia, read several reviews and booked the stay. Glad I did! The Hotel, to my mind was beautiful. My wife and I were upgraded to a […] suite and loved our room. The weather was beautiful and the rooftop pool was very nice. We started our day walking to breakfast at Green Street Cafe (great food and service) then headed out from there. Since I grew up driving in Miami, it's easy for me to get around but the Hotel's location in Coconut Grove puts several must see places very close at hand. Vizcaya, Miracle Mile (shopping) and Merrick Park (shopping) are a stone's throw away. South Beach is depending on traffic 20-25 minutes away. The University of Miami is also close by. Great hotel with spacious rooms. No complaints except for that the valet service is far too expensive. At $26 per day, we park across the street at the Coco Walk garage for $12 a day and had no issues. The spa and amenities were excellent.

My husband and I stayed here for four days and we had a wonderful time. We were blown away by our suite with a large Jacuzzi and three flat screen TV's. There was even a TV in the bathroom! The decor was beautiful and off-beat, like a tropical dream! We found the courtyard with the fountains very relaxing and the rooftop pool with bar was a delightful […] surprise! We book this hotel for our trip to the college football championship in Miami. We purposely chose NOT to stay in South Beach along with the other 50 thousand fans. On our a approach to the hotel and even when we pulled up to the main door I was a bit worried because from the outside the Mayfair looks very "plain". I might also note we drove in from […] the back side and did not get a good look at the surrounding area, so my first impression was underwhelming. But that first impression did not last long. The interior of the Mayfair is incredible! The is a huge center open air courtyard, with fountains, foliage, and areas to sit comfortably and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. On either side of the courtyard are atriums we equally comfortable surroundings. The rooftop pool and loung area is a perfect place to relax, swim, have a refeshment (or snack, meal), day or night. There is a fireplace for ambience and great views of the surrounding areas, including Biscayne Bay. Our room was spacious and clean (large bathroom with dual basin sink. The staff was friendly and attentive. The surrounding area has shops and restaurants well within walking distance, and the coco walk shopping area even has a theater if you want to catch a movie. Our family and friends were in southern Florida for the BCS National Championship game. We found this hotel on Expedia, it looked nice and the price was right. All told, we had 7 rooms. Everyone was pleased with the location (it's great!), the restaurant and the hotel in general. The only issues that we had were with the housekeeping staff. We had to […] ask more than once to have our room/bathroom cleaned...and it was after 2:30 in the afternoon. Once it was done, everything was great. The hotel could certainly use some sprucing up...it could use a bit of a facelift. It's not one of your chain hotels...it has character and we all appreciated that. Beautiful Resort in great location....loved Coconut Grove! Room was well furnished and enjoyed soaking tub on balcony. Spartico Restaurant was delicious, we got a brick oven pizza every day. Our check-in went well, even being allowed to check-in a couple of hours early. We were celebrating our anniversary, but no mention was made of it. The rooftop […] pool was very nice complete with cabanas and bali beds. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but some were curt and somewhat rude. We were awakened the first two mornings to housekeeping slamming nearby doors of the rooms they were cleaning, wham! wham! wham! but after politely mentioning it to the front desk it no longer happened. This is a beautiful hotel. Housekeeping was subpar for the price point. The room was dusty and we had to call for wash clothes, which took an hour to receive. The maid also forgot to empty the trash when she cleaned the room. For such a beautiful establishment housekeeping was poor.
