We were satisfied with everything except the shower did not work in one of the rooms. I'm not a fan of the $25 charge that was not stated in the brochure. You do get it back when nothing is charged or broken, but I had never had a hotel do this. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. My stay was good. I needed a refrigerator which the room had, but it took 6 hours to become as cold as I needed. Otherwise, the hotel was fine. It was a great location for what I needed and I felt safe. The staff was friendly. I would stay there again if needed.

Paid too much for such a dirty hotel. Room was dirty, chair had big brown stains on it. Bed was hard like a rock! Hotel is old and smells musty. Would never stay there again!

The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from the El, which is GREAT! The room was clean, the water was hot, and the a.c. was cool. Room service was FAST, the food was good and price was cheaper than other hotels nearby. Did I notice any "flaws?" Yes, tiny ones. This was a nice hotel. The rooms were clean and nice. There was a frig in the room which is always great when traveling with kids. This hotel had some awesome water pressure in the shower too. Very close to an "L" train station which was very convenient. It was located in what seemed like a nice neighborhood.

The sheets did not stay on bed. The tub had a bubble in it, so it felt like you were on a surfboard. Otherwise the staff was good and a great local for train.

Everything was as expected.Our only critism was how loud the restaurant/bar was. We could hear it on the second floor, which is where our room was. Very loud when you come into the lobby too. On our third night we had very loud neighbors that partied until 1 pm. Walls are thin.

Got stuck in chicago for two extra days because of weather. First day the airline took care of a night in the Renaissance and then second night we stayed at the HI because it was less expensive. Not a bad hotel, a little old fashioned but good for the price. The restaurant was great.

t was good, but the hotel front desk person misdirected my party to our location downtown. We ended up walking around for 2 hours trying to find the place. Also, the eggs at breakfast were not acceptable. They tasted like egg beaters. The room was awesome and all tat was included was good except that the bathroom fan did not work.

They were able to get me in right when I got there. Had lots of info about the area and of course the free wireless was great.

late night arrival and got hit with the snow storm! the ac was not sealed well enough and all the cold air was blowing in, the heater at low was too hot, cool at low was too cool. just a bad night.....

Location was great since its right next to the highway. I saw reviews saying this hotel wasn't very cleanly but I beg to differ. This hotel in general was very clean and the room was amazing. Bad neighborhood, hotel elevator broke down had to use service elevator, hall ways run down dirty dishes left sitting by doors, still there the next morning.

I am in hotels over 200 nights a year, and this Holiday Inn Express easily met my expectation. Room was clean, comfortable and modern. Bar Louie downstairs is great and the breakfast spread is more than expected. Convenient to O'Hare and the CTA Blue Line. I would gladly stay here again.

Great stay, though the location was slightly inconvenient based on visiting the convention center. Most hotels by the convention center were walking distance, however this was not. It was however a very quick 5 min drive. The restaurant/bar was very convenient, had a good selection of food, and service was great. My first time traveling to Chicago. In town on business for trade show and the front desk manager was very accommodating and helpful in my requests. Menu selection at the bar/restaurant/grill downstairs could be improved. Many restaurants around, but be prepared to pay a lot of cab fare to get around.

The hotel was fine, but the rooms smelled. I had to change rooms on arrival because the first smelled like a sour mop. The second room, which i stayed in was stale smelling. Witht the fan running all night it was barable. I kept that room becuse i was only there for the night. if it was a longer stay i would have changed again. An older hotel with an updated outside, the interior could use a bit of work. The plastic cups in the bathroom were defective - thus causing water to spill all over the countertop. The location of the room was not good. Although on the 9th floor, it must have been located just above the restaurant. In the middle of the day, I smelled french fries in […] my room. The staff was friendly and efficient but the property needs a major refresh. Lounge chairs in the lobbyare ragged, carpet in the hallways is stained and well past its useful life. The room was comfortable and clean, but carpet and baseboards well worn. A colleagues TV remote did not work. When storing a bag at reception, a peek behind the front desk […] revealed a work room resembling an abused college dorm. The hotel is very close to the Blue "L". You have to go across a road, but a very easy walk, if you don't mind walking. Staff was great, no frills, but it was a place to sleep before an early flight.

Nice, clean modern rooms with all the amenities. Exercise room had good, clean equipment for cardio and decent weight machine. Off the lobby, Bar Louie might make you stay down out of your room if you're spending the night. Walking from the CTA station was a bit of pain, but if you called the lobby they would send their shuttle I'm sure.

Room was clean, no stains on the carpet or bedding good service. The reservation did not match the Hotel. com information but we had the email confirmation with us and they changed it to match with out hesitation.

Our Expedia deal included free breakfasts. First day was busy there with and asked about free breakfast and our server said no they didn't have that, so we ate and paid. Skipped eating there on second day because breakfast for two added up to $30 the day before. So, went on third day and waitress asked if we had a voucher for breakfast....went to front […] desk and asked and received voucher for the next 2 days. My fault probably for not asking at check in. Requested a non-smoking king through hotels.com and when I got there, there were none available except for a handicapped accessible room. All other kings were smoking rooms. The handicapped accessible room was just a little awkward for me, with the shower stream hitting me below the stomach, it was that low. Probably good for some people, but not for […] me, and I had requested that specific room well in advance, so that was a bit annoying. We made reservations two weeks in advance. Hotel was busy with conferences or something, so the lobby was always loud, staff was busy giving people directions to places (hello, phone, gps?) and I was generally dissatisfied with my stay.
