We had a pleasant stay....we we're disappointed that there was not a hot tub, but that was our error in not researching that further before booking.

It was wonderful. Would be nice to maybe have dinner there also. Breakfast was great but, maybe have a wider selection.

Overall very nice place to stay and was located in great area for our activities, but what seems to be trend with all hotels I have stayed at the pool was cold. When you have kids with you this is an issue. Why they don't turn up the heat a bit I don't know.

The rest of the hotel was fine-- the kids enjoyed the pool, even though it was small. The pool area for parents supervising was very warm! My complaint, though, was the beds. Double beds were the only option for us, and they were small for a family of four. The pillows were absolutely awful- we woke up with horrible neck aches.

The hotel is currently going though renevation (11/11/12). The staff was very friendly and the stay was very comfortable.

Pool was freezing!! My kids were very disappointed. Continental breakfast was ok. Room were clean. The lobby was being remodeled so we did not get to enjoy any lobby experiences. I could not find a phone book in the room.

The desk staff here was very cordial and welcoming. The price was too high for the neighborhood and room, but was no doubt influenced by events of the weekend.

Located away from everything except the highway and several other motels in the motel ghetto of SW Ames; it had clean rooms and no major problems and an adequate free breakfast. We wanted an easy place to stay while visiting Ames, and it worked just fine.

The rroms were comfortable. Front desk staff was very nice but housekeeping was inconsiderate. Slamming doors, not making bed, rude demenor. Pool was ok butnot hot tub and very, very chlorinated.

Everything was as we expected--clean, comfortable and ready upon arrival. I loved the duvet and had a great night's rest!

We had a fantastic stay. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast was awesome! The few things we forgot the hotel was able to provide for us. Was traveling with my handicapped father, the front desk clerk allowed me to look at the two handicapped rooms that were available to assist me in determining the right one for him, this was extremely helpful. The night we stayed at this hotel was the same day Iowa State had a home game so I was expecting plenty of noise, but to my surprise my room […] was quiet and I didn't hear anything all night. Furniture was too big for the room. It was set up for a single businessman/woman, not a couple. The table was in the way most of the time. The bed was very soft as were the pillows. Room was very clean and nice, Staff was helpful. Our room view faced an air conditioner so that wasn't very good, but everything else was fantastic. There were ALOT of kids at the hotel, but I did not hear a peep in the hallways. Breakfast was also very good and well stocked. I would stay there again.

i came into town early and i was able to check in way earlier than the check in time, so I really liked the way they handled my situation.

Great breakfast and service... however it was not within walking distance to any bars or entertainment so a cab is a must to get around if you don't want to deal with parking. We also went on a weekend that there was some sort of college gathering so it took over an hour to get a cab at 10pm!

Upon arrival we were greeted by the night manager. He was very polite and helpful. Our key cards only worked after the 3rd try so we swapped them the next day. Upon closer inspection the room had obviously not been cleaned to the usual Hampton standard... Dirty vents with lots of dust in the bathroom and something stuck to the walls that should have […] come off with a wet rag, but was left there. There were long black hairs in the bed and we're both blonde. I found a water bottle under the dust ruffle making me wonder when the last time a vacuum was under there. We were on the first floor so we heard kids running and screaming on their way to the pool all day. But on top of all that, the least professional thing I saw was during my complimentary breakfast. I was the only guest there and I felt completely our of place as the staff chatted loudly to each other about the hiring of new employees over themselves and how they don't make enough money. We had a king room. We were up in Ames for a weekend. I knew I was going to have to work while I was there. The hotel offered free wifi but it was quite obvious they had a fairly low speed DSL connection that caused some headaches. Breakfast closed up a bit earlier than the 11AM posted, but the spread wasn't bad. Some sort of eggs, meat, oatmeal, biscuits […] and gravy one day, a waffle maker, pastries, and cold options. Overall the hotel and the room was clean and comfortable. The only real issue was that someone was obviously smoking on our floor. We ran across the front desk person on there and I mentioned something. I got a non-committal "yeah, someone is" and nothing was done about it. Thing is, in the State of Iowa, smoking in a public building like that is illegal. Lastly, the rooms have very nice, large flat panels. Unfortunately, they're all locked into the hotel's Lodgenet system, so you can't plug in anything or use alternate video sources (so they can get you to buy their PPV and built-in game system). I didn't really care, but I would have liked the option. When we travel yearly for our anniversary we bring our wedding video and a laptop. Had this been that trip I would have been very disappointed. Still, please don't take the above as all there was to our stay. They say you only remember the bad. Overall despite these issues our stay was very nice and I would definitely go back (as long as I wasn't going to need a true high-speed internet connection again) Skaityti daugiau

After a long drive we decided to get take out food and eat in the room. There was a table, but no chairs. Eating on the bed was not an option, so standing was the way we went.

I came down to visit my son for the weekend - very nice staff, fresh baked cookies in the lobby (not that I needed one) I left a note requesting extra coffee the first morning and when I came back that evening they had left me 6.

Hotel was a little dated and in need of some upgrading. For the price, expected more. Also, sofa bed did not have clean sheets on it.

We were trying to eat breakfast as a family, and the attendant just hovered making us very uncomfortable eating. We wondered if he was afraid we'd steal the plastic forks! My daughter was "creeped out" by him, and we just wanted to get out of there. If you are going to have continental breakfast, have it and leave people alone. The staff of this Hampton Inn are very friendly. The property is very nicely cared for, very clean and comfortable. It would be an especially nice place to stay for a weekend visiting the Ames area. We especially appreciated that the entire facility was non smoking.

The room was pretty clean except for the carpet. It was noticeably old. The bed was comfortable but the room's cooling/heating system was so noisy that we had to completely shut it down and the bathroom exhaust fan was noisy and never shut off. The room got very warm.
