This was a great hotel! I have always wanted to go to Washington DC. This was actually the 2nd hotel I booked. The first one I canceled after reading about it a bit more. It actually kinda freaked me out. But, Lombardy was a fantastic 2nd choice! The room was great. The bed was comfy, the pillows were great. The bathroom was big. Loved the sink, and […] the shelf above it. The two bottles of water in the evening were a nice little perk. The hotel is close to 2 metro stops. It's only a few blocks away from the White House. This hotel has a perfect location. We walked to the White House in less then 15 minutes, Georgetown in about 20 minutes and the GW campus in 5 minutes. This is a small historic boutique hotel. It is in a great location. It is well appointed, spotless and very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We felt they went out of their way to accomodate us on our stay. As it is an older hotel there are some things to be aware of. The soundproofing is not what it could be so hall and street noises […] are quite clear. Also the bathroom is small compared to newer hotels. The location and comfort more than make up for this though and we were very happy with our hotel choice. We would definetely recommend this hotel to others and would gladly stay here again. "Centrally located to all the sights in DC"
I felt like we were literally right in the center of everything. It was still a good 10 minute walk to Georgetown, the White House, and other surrounding sights. The hotel was great as well, but if you can, I would ask for a room that was not next to the elevator. There was quite a bit of noise from the elevator during the evenings and early mornin […] gs.
