Enjoyed the convenience of the train being so close. Wish I had more time to tour the City but will do so next time.

Nice hotel downtown that was clean friendly and conveniently located. I was actually surprised by the breakfast bar being nicer than I thought. I would definetly stay again.

Was pleasantly suprised with the size and layout of the king rooms. Was nicer than expected (not luxury hotel by any means, but nice for a H.I. Express). Neighborhood is a little shaky after dark, but fine during the day.

Everything that we had to do with in this hotel was perfect. Check in was a breeze, parking was pretty good, the room was clean, large and had a balcony which was awesome. It is on the outer part of downtown but still close to most things. Check out time is 11 am but it was at that time that we couldn't get our vehicle started in the underground parking. […] Dead battery. We explained to the front desk staff what was going on and they graciously told us that we could stay for as long as it took to get the car running. That turned out to be a little over an hour. This hotel is outside the downtown core, so you happily miss the worst of the traffic congestion, while still being close to enough to downtown to walk there. The C-train station is very close as well if you don't want to walk. The breakfast bar was well stocked and the food was fresh and well prepared. The cinnamon rolls were particularly good! location & cost made up for poor lift and claustraphobic feel to public ares. Staff were very helpful

I did not really have a good stay. I liked that the breakfast was included and the room was spacious. But the breakfast area is too small so finding a seat is a problem and food choice is very limited. The only is on the edge of town and not centrally located and there is not bar. Very spacious, updated and clean rooms. Service was excellent and friendly. I wish the hotel was a few blocks closer to the core, but not really a big deal. Generally very good all around.

It is not worth the twenty dollar saving or free parking. Pay the extra and stay in a better hotel in a better location. They advertise balconies... well if you like to drink your coffee watching a homeless person defecate then this hotel may be for you. Otherwise click on to the next suggestion and stay away from this Holiday Inn. Hope this helps!

Very clean, quiet room. The room was spacious and well-kept. Great TV, fairly comfortable bed. The location is a few blocks away from most of the downtown action. I guess this could be a good thing or bad thing. This end of 8th Avenue is pretty dead in the evenings, and it's about 8 or 9 blocks' walk to the more lively end of the avenue. Good location, but nothing specially business hotel. The best thing is car-parking!! (Most hotel at downtown Calgary doesn't offer free parking lot.)

There's nothing wrong with this hotel. Nice staff, nice rooms, clean, what more could you want? Perhaps that part of the street is not perfect, but I haven't felt unsafe or anything. Great for short stays and citytrips.
