La Quinta Inn Birmingham / Cahaba Park South - Birmingamas

Very nice and it was reasonably priced as well. A very good selection. I did find the beds to be a little on the soft side - I prefer a firmer bed - but that's just my personal preference. But the rooms and the service, in my mind, were outstanding for the amount of money I paid.

The room was clean, but you can tell the actual hotel is aged. The staff were extremely nice, and the location was great. We were next to almost all of the fast food places, less than two mile of the Summit and other eating places. My complaints was the tub, the dogs next to us, and the rudness of the a person leaving a bunch of cigarettes in elevador. […] That was uncalled for. But again, for the cost, the stay was fine. Quite possibly the friendliest staff I've ever met while on the road. Every person - maid, mechanic, front desk, etc...- I walked by asked me how I was doing and if there was anything I needed. Everything was good the reticent was good. And the room was comfy. The only thing that was wrong was it was a little musty in the hallway and bathroom needed updating but I would say here again

Reasonably close to Birmingham downtown and the hotel was clean.Staff was friendly and mid range value deal place is what I would rate this place absolutely nothing fancy but have all the basics right with decent breakfast options.

The staff was very nice and the hotel was clean... my only problem with the hotel is that the rooms don't have a microwave or a refrigerator... wouldn't recommend for someone who is staying more than a night...

The overall condition of the hotel was very disappointing. The walls and carpets in the hotel is fifthy, as was the carpet in our room. There was no way I was going to walk on the carpet with bare feet. They had this tacky computer generated sign in the elevator telling quests not to make noise after 9 pm, but there is an Irish pub right next door that […] played really loud music and kept us awake into the wee hours of the morning. This hotel is really dog friendly if you have pets. One guest brought 3 huge dogs into her room. I don't enjoy staying in hotels that allow pets because of the bedding. This place is dirty. The curtains are worn through so bad - they barely contain the sunlight. They make a big deal about signing the "no-smoking" agreement - and the place smells like an old ashtray.They promise a hot breakfast. That means toast to them - and cold cracked hard-boiled eggs. We looked for hotel near U. Alabama game at last minute and found this one for Sat. night. Really high price for an older condition hotel, but this was what was left for 2 miles from stadium. Staff nice, room older but clean, bed/linens clean, you hear freeway noise.

The smell of bleach and cleansers in our room was overpowering ... persisted all night. Otherwise, nice and CLEAN facility. Convenient, with friendly, helpful staff.

Great hotel decent location good price or long as you go there and the other people that are staying in the hotel are not crazy it's not bad when I stayed there someone was stabbed in the eye but that is the way the cookie crumbles there is a decent bar within 100 feet of the hotel

Very nice for the price. La Quinta has never let me down. It is pet friendly but our room smelled great.

Not a bad stay at all. They have nice hd flat screen t.v.s in each room. their breakfast was okay. The bathroom wasn't really tidy, but all in all a decent stay. Comfy bed too.

We liked the location, close to good restaurants and services. Convenient to the Interstate. It accommodated our puppy and the hotel was comfortable. The new bedding was appreciated. However, the breakfast was mediocre.

I had trouble finding a place to park. There were motor homes, and trucks with trailers parked in the parking lot, which took up like 8 spaces for one truck, 5 for another, 4 for another. Other guests couldn't find a place to park, but I circled the building and snatched a space from another unsuspecting guest.....I reported it to the front desk, and […] the response was something like "Oh yeah we're full." I was scheduled for 2 nights but canceled the second. The smell in the room was hideous. Although it is a smoke-free room, it obviously been smoked in for years and still smelled of the smoke. Main issue with the hotel was that the rooms all used to be smoking, and let's just say that it's obvious when you enter any of them. Clearly none of the linens, carpets, or curtains have been switched out. Also, there's a pretty loud bar across the street, and the window in our original room facing the bar didn't shut. We stay at this hotel 4-6 times a year when in transit through Birmingham. It's an excellent value for the price - clean rooms and this time, upgraded linens. The bed seemed new as well - very comfy. Hard boiled eggs on the continental breakfast - appreciate the protein. Front desk personnel are so-so, never rude but not particularly welcoming, although […] always efficient. We were traveling to Florida and we needed a place to sleep half way through the trip. We were looking for a good price and not expecting a whole lot for the price paid. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff. Ann made us feel welcomed and let us know that she would be there for any questions or problems we may have. Overall the stay was fine. The hallway leading to the room was dirty, not vacuumed, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable, however the bathtub did not drain properly. When we took showers, there would be standing water in the tub, even with the stopper totally out. Staff was friendly and continental breakfast was ok.

The sink and mirror was just inside the door so if you have family members staying in the room be carful when you open the door! The actual bathroom was cramped. The bathroom floor, tub, toilet and sink area was very dirty. The hotel is conveniently located to shops and restaurants but be careful about staying out too late and having to park on the […] back side of the property, it's dark and isolated.
