The rooms was lovely and the hotel is very nicely laid out. The mini bar prices were extortionate, however, that was the only negative I could find!

Definitely far from being grim, the hotel had a very funky look and feel and was very much in the heart of the city (5 mins from shopping district; even closer to harbour etc). Shower was great; rooms were standard in size but sufficient for 1/2 ppl staying. "Short visit to Oslo..."
The hotel was very interesting looking, but once you started using the room you quickly realise that they are expensively but poorly designed. It was difficult to find how practical some things were including the shower for example. The breakfast was very good. "Horrible bathrooms"
Great hotel however the rooms were an overly modern. The bathroom provides very limited privacy as it is enclosed in glass and the shower is rediculous. You can't shower without soaking the entire little bathroom. The lighting is high tech however you it makes it so you can't really control the actual amount of light and the rooms are dark even at the […] highest settings. "Without air-conditioning"
Fancy hotel but the Loft suite we stayed in was very dark and without ac. Only during check out did they tell us that they did not have ac at all in the building. Paying this much money we expect better!
"Nice hotel"
The hotel is clean and nice and is located in a convenient area, especially if you are coming off a cruise ship. The only complaint I have is about the shower. It is very difficult to use because it is tiny and the door swings inward (very poor design). You either have the choice of starting the water from the outside and soaking your tiny bathroom, […] or getting in and closing the door so that you take the full brunt of the first cold-water rush. "The First Hotel Grims Grenka in Oslo"
We had the most enjoyable stay at this hotel; great central location; in walking distance to s/s busses and boats, to the beautiful new Opera & Balett House; great restaurants only 5 min by foot; The Staff is very friendly. The brakfast buffett very rich and well presented with friendly staff. We recommend this hotel 100%!

"Not a good experience"
The first room I got the internet did not work. So I had to change room (it was also an half empty soda can under the bed.) The second room I was sent to was dark with just a tiny window facing the court yard and the cleanliness in this room was not good neither...a clipped toe nail next to the bed! So I showed the reservation to the front desk and […] it clearly says that I had upgraded to a superior room and I once more had to change room. This room was ok...however, the hotel looks run-down. The windows had half the paint missing and two of the mirrors in the room were cracked. I found it also to be "design over functionality." The bathrooms are dark so it's hard to really do anything, and the mirrors are placed in such an angle that it's really hard to get a good shave.... "Great beds and GREAT food"
Very nice Hotel, the room was solid as was the food. Staff was ok, when checking in the staff member was not friendly, and later in the weekend the lady at the front desk was FANTASTIC! Neighbourhood could be better...located in the middle of the "red light" district...other than that good stuff.

This hotel in downtown Oslo is very well located and easy to find. It is a boutique hotel and one of the top three in Oslo! The customer service was great, the amenities were superb and an overall amazing experience. The highlight of the hotel is the roof top restaurant - MADU. The design, ambiance and style is wonderful! The First Hotel Grims Grenka in Oslo was everything it was promised to be and much more. The staff was very helpful, specially the hotel manager and the front desk personel, everybody went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our first room had problems with the climate control and we immediately got upgraded to a bigger and […] better room. We even got invited to an open house that the property was hosting the evening of our arrival, with delicious food and drinks. The room issued to me was not fit for rent. The carpet was dirty and had paper and other items strewn on it, clearly it had not been cleaned. The shower was glass and it was shattered in several places. Additionally the glass panel next to the exit door was broken with pieces of shattered glass sticking forward. "This is not a five star hotel"
The description claims this is a five star hotel: it is not. While the staff is friendly and the hotel has been featured in a number of architecture magazines (my reason for choosing it), the rooms are at best medium - e.g. the form has preceeded function in design of the toilets (these are not for the timid couple!), basics like leaving wine and water […] glasses in the room were lacking. My main reason for a mediocre review is that my expectations were higher for a five star, this would pass as for four, and excel at three, but at the present, it does not offer value to match the premium pricing. "helpful staff"
Found staff at Grims Grenka to be very helpful. The room was nicely designed and spacious. The rooftop bar was worth a visit. Good location and easy walk to train station.

"Nåede ikke morgenmaden..!"
Mit ophold fejlede bestemt ikke noget. Jeg var i Oslo for en enkelt overnatning da jeg havde et vigtigt mødt søndag morgen. Jeg vælger ofte First, da jeg tidligere altid har været meget tilfreds. Havde jeg været i Oslo for afslapning, havde det nok ikke været anderledes denne gang, men det var jeg ikke. Det var lidt ærgeligt, at der intet leben var […] på hotellet overhovedet en lørdag aften, og det var problematisk at morgenmaden først blev serveret kl 08:30. "First Hotel Grims Grenka = OK"
Flott. moderne innredning, men vel mørkt og dystert. Fikk først en rom som ikke var rengjort, men etter å ha gjort resepsjonen oppmerksom på dette beklaget de sterkt. Fikk deretter et rom som var rengjort. Veldig bra frokost.
"Mørkt og upraktisk rom"
Rommene på Grims Grenka har fancy interiør, men de er svært upraktiske. Det tar lang tid å finne og forstå lysbryterne - de er bortgjemt og spesielle - men de går an å dimme lyset opp og ned, når man bare finner ut av det. Det mangler speil over servanten på badet - virkelig utfordrende å få barbert eller sminket seg. På mitt rom var det dessuten to […] lyspærer på badet som ikke virket, og da ble det veldig mørkt. "Hotell Grenka Oslo"
Hotellet i seg selv var bra. Helt til jeg da fikk et rom ut mot gaten , stor støy,kladt og strømmen gikk hele tre ganger på rommet mitt ila første dagen. Dette medførte onsdag at jeg mistet hele oppgaven jeg drev og skrev på daten som stod til lading i veggen uten batteriet i. Torsdag morgen går strømmen igjen mens jeg er på badet. Det tar 15-20 min […] før de får den på igjen, dette medfører at jeg blir for sen til seminaret og hele dagen går i vasken. Hotellet er gennerelt kaldt og kommer ikke til og bruke dette igjen. "Bedre enn fryktet"
Hadde lest en del skikkelig kritiske anmeldelser. Min opplevelse var mye bedre. Rommet ( en av suitene) var kult og komfortabelt med et deilig bad med stort frittstående badekar. Vi så ingenting til fuktskader og annet som er beskrevet. En anderledes hotellopplevelse og vel verdt pengene. Eneste kritikkverdige var at vi ikke var informert om at " roomservice" […] var take- away som kim på døra i papirpose og med plastbestikk! Ikke helt opp til 5- stjerner standard... Skaityti daugiau

Glimrende beliggenhet, men ellers er det ikke mye som trekker opp. Små bad, mørke rom, noe vedlikeholdsbehov - og ikke spesielt lav pris gjør at totalinntrykket er unders middels norsk hotellstandard.

hotellet ligger sentralt til, men er et lite stykke å gå for et kollektivtilbud. stilig hotell, lysprofiler på rommet som kan stilles inn selv. bra frokost

"Grims Grenska Oslo, manglende vedligeholdelse"
Hotellet er indrettet med kvalite, men der mangler vedligeholdelse. F.eks lyset på værelset virkede ikke som det skulle, bruseren virkede ikke som den skulle, fjernsynet var fjernet da det åbentbart ikke virkede og spejle var gået istykker. Værelset virkede som om det var ved at blive repereret med ledninger hængende ud af kontakter og deraf manglende […] funktion. Sådan et værelse skulle simpel hen ikke kunne anvendes. "Moderne hotel centralt i oslo"
Standart og rengøring var fint. Restauranten var lukket, ligesom samtlige barer og den toplounge, der skulle have været på hotellet. I det hele taget virkede hotellet forladt og servicen var i bund. Badeværelset var et glasbur midt i værelset - så man skal kende sin roommade godt!

Baño super pequeño, armario sin cajones, pocas perchas. Muy poca luz. No se puede leer por la noche. Teléfono muy lejos de la mesilla, incómodo cuando te llaman para despertarte.
Leider ging die Klimaanlage in keinem der Zimmer. Eine Lösung dieses Problems war nicht erzielbar. Es wurde einem lediglich mitgeteilt, dass man ja die Fenster öffnen könnte wenn es zu warm ist. Die Raumtemperatur lag bei 29°C! Im gesamten Hotel konnte leider auch niemand ein Wort Deutsch.

"Super Design - Licht zu verbessern!"
Super Hotel: Design, Farben, Materialien. Licht im Zimmer sehr schlecht! Bad: unmöglich Make-up aufzulegen, kein Licht auf Spiegel (ausser in der Dusche oder im Korridor!). Beleuchteter Spiegel nötig! Also Hotel nur für Männer geeignet. Frühstück: Beschrieb der Kaffeemaschine fehlt; ebenso Beschrieb der Nespresso-Kaffeesorten. Kein weisses Brot zur […] Auswahl. "Es wurde wenig Investiert in den letzten Jahren"
Bin zum zweiten mal im Hotel. Hatte das Gefühl das Zimmer fällt auseinander. Die Türfallen lottern, Armaturen im Badezimmer sind nicht richtig angeschraubt. Spiegel hat einen schlag. Die Farbe an den Wänden ist mehrfach beschädigt. Ich war dieses Mal enttäuscht und das Zimmer ist doch sehr klein.
