We loved this hotel. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in the city. The room was very comfortable; breakfast fabulous. But what really made all the difference was the staff -- helpful, friendly and efficient.

We were very pleased with our stay at the hotel - well appointed for the price, very well positioned near the main sights but also very quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Maximilian in 2008 and decided to stay there again when I recently returned to Prague. The beds are sooo comfortable. The bathrooms are upscale basic but are white and clean with quality shampoos and soaps. The service is young and fresh; if asked, they will help you do anything. I'd never been to Prague, and this hotel's location was a great to experience the city. Very nice hotel also, with very helpful staff. Very clean, efficient hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Breakfast was good too as was the free cake and coffee at 5 o'clock. One of our party also had a hotel 'pet' - a goldfish - for his room. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The Maximillian is a lovely hotel, our room was in the Black house which was lovely and comfortable. Room included a Nespresso machine and a DVD player. Your rent a choice of DVDs from reception free of charge. The only negative was that the bathroom was a little dated for a 4 star hotel. This place was an excellent find. A quiet location with easy access to Old Town, Prague Castle, & the shopping district. For a Euro hotel, the rooms was fairly spacious. Overall, I was very impressed by the Maximilian. The hotel is very nicely presented and has unexpected little perks like the 'honesty bar', relaxing library area and 'business zone' where you can avail of the use of printers and computers. The location is decent - about 5 minutes walk from the old town square along the picture-postcard cobbled streets. […] I stayed in the superior deluxe (they apparently upgraded me from the plain old deluxe but I'm not sure that the difference is). The room had unusually high ceilings and very large windows and overall it looked very well - the lighting is a little dark but I think that fits in with the overall mood of the place. No issues with the shower/bath - water was always hot and had good pressure. The only issue I had during my entire stay was that I couldn't adjust the temperature of the room - the thermostat didn't seem to do anything when I twiddled it. But it wasn't that big a deal, I was able to open the window to cool things down the one night it was too warm! As other reviewers have noted already, the breakfast really is top class. Not only is there a generous and good quality buffet, you can order as much eggs/pancakes/waffles or whatever's cooking that day from the menu. Visited Prague in Dec 2012 for 3 nights for my partners birthday. Stayed at Maximilian Hotel room 204. Staff spoke English and made us feel very welcome. We received a complimentary bottle of champagne from the hotel to help celebrate his birthday. Room was very clean and spacious, bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were included in our stay and were […] very good. Location of the hotel was excellent very central 2 min walk to centre of Old Town and 5 mins walk to Wenceslas Square. Excellent location in the old Jewish quarter handy for the old town and Charles bridge. Excellent value at 3 nights for the price of 2. Break fast was wonderful. Comfy king size bed. Shower, no bath.

The Hotel Maximillian provided, at a very reasonable cost, a centrally -located hotel in Prague. Only steps from the Old Market Square and just a few blocks from shopping and the Metro, I couldn't have been happier. The hotel was great. Excellent location. In the centre but quiet. Service and stuff were outstanding. Breakfast also. My only comment is that I left the room at 9am and reurned at 13.30 and the room was still not made up. Other than that all was perfect. It had a very homy feel to it eventhough it is a modern hotel.

The staff were friendly, courteous and hard-working. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast ever. The surrounding area is quiet yet central (the superb Le Chagall restaurant is a minute away). Would go back again in a heartbeat.

I was recommended to pay the extra to get a 'Superior' room for the additional space. Either the other rooms are tiny or we had the 'Expedia' version (i.e. smallest room for booking this way). The location was excellent. Quick walk to the square and Charles Bridge. Neighborhood is upscale with many restaurants within a stones throw. Hotel itself was top notch. Service was five stars and rooms were clean, well equiped, and classy. Great experience

Maximilian is nice enough. The lobby does a good job of conveying boutique hotel status. Walk up the stairs, more of the same. When you get to the cramped elevator, you start to wonder. When you step off the elevator you're greeted by dark, poorly finished hallways with low ceilings. Our room had a view to the courtyard. It was nice enough, but it is […] obviously an old building that had some superficial changes made in order to make the pictures look nice; there was dirty and missing grout in the bathroom, there was very low water flow from the showers, the doors look like they belong in a dormitory. The carpet is older, and the poor interior finish from hall creeps into the room--the access panels for the A/C were poorly installed, paint didn't go all the way to the ceiling, etc. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, and they brought us a goldfish to keep us company. The breakfast buffet was also good (not great). In all, I think the hotel is over-rated. It deserves to be a 3.5 star property. Everything is okay, just not great. The location is a different story--it's located in the heart of the Jewish district, which is a bit quieter than other parts of the this tourist-saturated town, and is extremely close to every site you might want to see. One of the best hotels we stayed at during our 5 weeks touring around Europe. the hotel gas little touches that make it feel more like a home. these are free drinks at reception. Between 5 and 6 each night there are free cakes brought out . U can also choose a dvd to watch from the collection staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.
