"Florence spring break"
Ok hoyel. Nice lobby. No frills room. We wondered if there were bed bugs: both of us were itchy in bed-to the point i slept on top of the covers. Concierge was very helpful.

I turned to Hotels.com after a bad experience with a reservation and price quote at a "5 Star" hotel in Firenze. The experience at the Excelsior was wonderful from check in to check out, the desk, consierge, room service, lobby restaurants and ALL waiters and service folks were the top of rating scale to me and my wife. We have traveled extensively […] in Italy, Europe/England and Japan and never felt it was necessary to respond to a ratings or assessment of a hotel, so this is a first for us in 30 years of travel together. We were impressed and will recommend the Excelsior to friends and others that ask us about travel. AND we will look for other Westin properties when we travel!! Skaityti daugiau

Would highly recommend this hotel. Our trip to Italy took us to 4 different cities and 4 different hotels and this was our favorite. The staff was incredible.

Good points: Great location, nice and very helpful staff, big clean room and bathroom. Bad points: Its an old hotel (although very well maintained, i guess thats why its a 5 star hotel), it gives you the feeling that its old especially the lift and the furnitures in the room (was a bit creepy for me!! "Savoy is better"
I booked on the advice of a friend and on other reviews here. The hotel is in a good location, though there are other hotels slightly closer to the heart of the town. The room was certainly not five-star standard. There was a burst drain outside the window, and several pieces of furniture were the worse for wear. When I was checking in, another guest […] was complaining about his room's condition. It's not five-star quality, but the bar and breakfast certainly have five-star prices. Ultimately there is better in this beautiful city and the Excelsior is sadly not worth the extra spend. Have to agree though that the doormen and conceirge were wonderfully helpful. I discovered the Savoy Hotel round the corner from the Doumo on the second day and wish I had stayed there. Will be back to Florence but not the Westin Excelsior. Skaityti daugiau

We were only able to stay one night in Florence but this hotel was the best one we stayed at in our 11 day trip in Italy. Beautiful room, great location, friendly & helpful staff. Great concierge.

"A True Five Star Experience"
The hotel is beautiful. It is a coverted castle and has a lot of old world charm. It really felt like an "Italian" hotel as opposed to feeling like any modern hotel in any city anywhere. The service was excellent. I ordered room service dinner and it was good. The location can't be beat. I had a river view room and the view was amazing. I requested […] a tour of the new roof top restaurant/bar, which wasn't open yet, and the manager on duty gladly obliged. The restaurant/bar is beautiful too. I can't say enough good things about my experience, and I highly recommend staying there. "marginal for a Westin, too high priced"
For the money we paid for the room it should have been nicer. The air conditioning was not up to par. We tried to turn it up but it would not go high enough to make the room comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful though. All in all the Westin was just okay for the price we paid.
"Good American Hotel Choice"
This is a beautiful hotel. The staff is extremely friendly. The only complaint we had is our room had no view and it smelled like smoke when we asked for no smoking. If I were to go back I'd request a view because the views from the property are extraordinary. Other than that it was a good place to stay, but definately not amazing.

As we were celebrating a special occasion, we decided to splurge on a 5 Star Hotel in Florence and the Westin Excelsior did not disappoint us. The hotel was superb and the location on the banks of the Arno River could not have been better as it was also within walking distance to the Duomo and other museums. The only things which we found to be hugely […] overpriced was the cost of parking which is Euro 50 per night and also the cost of the breakfast which is Euro 39 per person. hotel super, accueil super, personnel trés à l'écoute je recommande seul point noir nous étions dans la chambre 460 cote rue et tous les matins nous étions réveiller par le bruit des poubelles qui étaient ramassées et notamant des verres cela ne dépend en aucun cas de l'hotel des poubelles sont communes pour toute la rue
