HCC Hotel Covadonga - Barselona

While the room was a little small to my American standards, it was very clean and had everything I needed. The location was perfect for seeing the part of the city where the natives hang out. All of the tourist sights are only a 10 min subway ride away, so you're close enough to see everything, but far enough to feel like you're seeing the real city. […] The room was really clean, and the bathroom was roomy with a great bath. The staff was as helpful as they could be while trying to speak a language not their own. Hanging out in the lounge I didn't feel overwhelmed by the waiter, but not ignored either. All-in-all it was a great place for my short weekend stay after a longer business trip. Only critique would be bigger rooms, slightly colder air conditioning, and only slightly friendlier staff. Catalunyans are known for their dislike of speaking English, but that shouldn't be present in a hotel. Nevertheless, they made every effort to meet my needs. Skaityti daugiau

Centrally located to most of the sights in the city. Hotel was clean and neat; breakfast buffet was a bit on the expensive side, but selection/quality/taste of the food was great and was very convenient. The only English Language television available was news (CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Sky News & Sky International), but I didn't come to Barcelona to watch […] television. :-) Front desk personnel were very helpful recommending a great restaurant (Moncho's), storing our luggage until our trip to the airport and calling us a cab. A very well maintained and operated hotel at a fair price. We absolutely loved the location and the hotel staff was always available and responsive to our needs. The room was very clean however the constant noise from the hallways, adjacent rooms, and the slamming of doors was a disruptive and prevalent issue throughout our stay. We were looking for a relatively cheap hotel to stay in that allowed us to watch the midweek Barcelona -v- Real Madrid match. After scouring websites we came across the Hotel Covadonga, which at first seemed a bit far away, given that there were two juniors with us (13 and 11), and that the game was scheduled to finish at 1am!! As it happened, the hotel […] is around 1.5 miles from the stadium, which turned out to be a 35 minute walk after the match, and a three-stop tram journey before the match. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were tidy and comfortable and the service was very friendly and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is also situated close to many shopping complexes and bars and restaurants. It is a 10-minute taxi drive to Las Ramblas (around 10 Euros). All-in-all it was a very pleasant stay. Earlier in the day I took a tour of the monastery. When I checked into my room I had to question whether or not the tour was over. The bed was so so uncomfortable. I had a deflated pillow to lay my wary head. But I was hardly in my room. I explored the neighborhood. Excellent bakery down the block and the tour bus stop was right across the street.

The hotel was perfect... Breakfast was filling and all was well... the only difficulty was location....i mean you could use the bus or metro but still annoying... If you have a ticket for the tour bus, you're set because it stops right next to the hotel and you could use that to go around.... overall, it was confortable and prices somewhat reasonab […] le.... Rooms very small but comfortable, on the Diagonal so it's easy to find your way around. Good location for the price. Only niggle was that they charge ~5 Euro per day for the key to the safe in your room. Staff pleasant and helpful.

There was no parking (the website states that it has parking available), the internet did NOT work, this was a work trip and I could not work! they said it was because I had an apple computer which a lot of people have, the place smelled strongly of cigarette smoking, the breakfast was very expensive, the keys to the room did not work, they had to be […] programed every time we used them, there is no coffee in the room, I would NOT recommend this hotel and was very disappointed. Hotel room was very dark, no day light entering the room. Also, the interior is very formal, and it doesn't invite Barcelona visitors to enjoy their hotel. It's very business-like, for those who only sleep in the hotel, and don't expect anything else than a confortable bed.

We stayed in the HCC Hotel Covadonga in Barcelona for a quick 3 night visit. It was everything we wanted in a hotel. Here is why. 1. The rates were very good. 2. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent, room was spacious with a nice window view, comfortable beds. The room was a nice size, especially for European hotels […] which can have small rooms. In short, we got good value for our money. 3. Location: It is within 30 minutes walking of Las Rambalas. It is not in the thick of things so I was able to sleep without hearing noise from the street, but there are several bus lines with stops right in front of the hotel for easy access to anywhere else in the city. 4. The staff were excellent. As strict Sabbath observant people we could not use our electronic key cards on Saturday, the staff were more than willing to go to the fifth floor to open our door for us. The hotel is also 5 minutes walking distance from the Synagogue. Bottom Line: Would highly recommend for people who want a good night's sleep, in an affordable hotel that is also clean, comfortable and nice with welcoming staff. Skaityti daugiau

What I liked about the hotel the most was the location. Shopping, resturants and public transportation was within steps outside the door. There were two Hop-on Hope-off bus tours within two blocks and a mall across the street. Public bus was acrosss the street which took me to Las Ramblas within 15 minutes for 1.50 euros. The return let me off at the […] door of the hotel. Staff was very helpful and knowledable about resturants and entertainment around town. The "Hot Breakfast" turn out to be the "Basic Continental Breakfast", but a good start for the day. My only complaint was the bed which consisted of the cheapest bedding they could find. Location is very good, close to tourist bus stop and public transport. Room was clean, cozy, comfortable. We didnt take breakfast so cant comment anything. There are many caffes around. Wifi in rooms available. Bed was good and confortable.

Hotel confortevole, pulito, abbastanza vicino al centro di Barcellona. La metropolitana non è vicinissima, ma è raggiungibile con i numerosi autobus che passano lungo la Diagonal. Consigliato.
