The hotel lobby is impressive, bright and modern and airy. However, the rooms are old and dark and hot. I checked in an out after 1 hour! The staff were polite. I thought the quality of hotel would be much higher , I was sadly disappointed in the room standard, air on not working and stained linen and jut very old. Not as pictured or described. The […] gym was not modern at all, a basement room that was dark and tiny with minimum equipment and some damaged weights. All the shops in the hotel were closed up and shut, and given the location of the hotel, there was nowhere to go and nothing to do. The Crown Plaza is a great place to stay in Kathmadu. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is so friendly and the food in all the restuarants is delicious. You will enjoy your time whether it is staying the room, eating at one of many places available or sitting outside on the terrace. It is truly an oasis! Thank you!

The Crowne Plaza is one of the better hotels in Kathmandu. It is a long drive from the airport (during rush hour traffic it takes about 1 to 2 hours - early morning it takes just 20 minutes), during normal business hours - so figure that into your schedule. The hotel is spread over several acres with the room being one main building and the restaurants […] in separate buildings. Breakfast is nice with a good selection of both western (eggs, sausages) and Indian (dosas, iddlis, etc). The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful - they were eager to offer suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. The hotel is a 15 minute drive from the main tourist spots (Thamil and the Durbar road) and it is easy to get taxis to take you to these places and back. Rooms are comfortable and a bit dated but clean. Turn down service is standard. There are coffee machines and safes in every room. The outdoor pool was closed for renovation. Typical International Hotel - Comfortable but little character - good power supply, which is a big plus in Kathmandu - quite nice grounds (an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the chaotic city) - good breakfasts and very good Chinese restaurant. VERY EXPENSIVE FOR A COUNTRY OF THAT SIZE AND LEVEL. Many things did not work in room: broken haidrier, leaking ceiling, shower itself is broken and the bathroom is dirty. Food unreasonably expensive. It does look good.

The Soaltee is in a compound, quite separate from the neighborhood, which, like most of Kathmandu, is crowded and poverty stricken. Hotel che necessita di un restiling, ma che nella zona è sicuramente il migliore anche per i servizi forniti al suo interno,Ciò incide negativamente sul rapporto qualità prezzo. Vi sono tre ristoranti interni, di cui uno è italiano (il fresco), ma del Bel Paese ha solo il nome, può essere consigliato solo per gustare cibi del posto. Ottimo il servizio […] di assistenza per le escursioni (ci sono due agenzia di viaggio) e finanche lo shopping può essere effettuato all'interno dell'hotel. Wij waren een week in Kathmandu. Het Crowne Plaza hotel ligt op een afgescheiden ommuurde eigen terrein, wat een oase van rust opleverde in een anders zeer chaotische stad. Lekker om een beetje bij te komen. Het hotel heeft een aantal prima restaurants. De kwalitiet, maar ook de prijzen daar zijn wel gewoon ' westers'. De service is uitstekend. Iedereen […] is zeer beleefd en behulpzaam. Bellen voor ons voor excursies, herbervestiging bij de vliegtuigmaatschappij en dergelijke was geen enkele moeite. Wij hebben er echt van genoten. De lagere waardering voor de omliggende buurt is niet te vermijden. Heel Kathmandu is een zeer arme, vervuilde, rommelige stad, dus ook de buurt waar het hotel ligt. Hotel was ok all in all. But food and drinks are very high priced. 1 beer via room service costs as much as a dinner for 2 (incl. beer) in a restaurant outside of the hotel. But ok, this is normal in high class hotels. Anyway, the food in the restaurants is just average and not high class. So this was a minus. But all in all the stay was still ok.  […] Thanks.
