My daughter and I stayed here for four days and were very satisfied with our stay. It is just around the corner from the Gloucester Rd tube station and the Hop on, Hop off bus tour. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a small problem with the heat in our room, which was promptly and creatively handled. Breakfast was included with our room, […] and was more than adequate: fruit, juices, cheese, meats, pastries, toast and coffee served in French press coffee makers. Comfortable room, good location from Gloucester Road tube. The day that I stayed there was a problem with the hotel's licence so they could not sell any alcohol and the dinner offer was 2 beers and a home made pizza!, but apart from that very good.

This is not a cheap hotel, but London is not cheap, and you get what you pay for. Not quite as fancy as I might have expected for the price, but no problems. A little road noise, but perfectly acceptable.

The Ashburn hotel is trying to be a boutique hotel which it certainly is not!!! It is not worth a four star rating...Sorry but that’s the truth! The website photos look great and then when you get there it’s a bit of a let down. The staff are okay, though on our second evening there we walked into the bar/lounge to find two staff on their own leaning […] against the bar. We asked if we could get our free drink only to be told 'Sorry no, only between 7 and 8pm' and then one of the staff returned to browsing his mobile phone. We were not impressed with that! The heating didn’t work properly in the room, there was a portable air con/heater unit provided. It worked but looked very well used. From the experience that my partner and I received we will not be returning to the Ashburn hotel and would not recommend this hotel! There are far better hotels available for the money! Nice Boutique Hotel In a great location with easy access to underground train. I found the staff to be Great! Very helpful and extremely friendly, always trying to keep the guest happy. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. You cannot beat its location both for access to Heathrow (tube station is 5 mins away) and the Knightsbridge area/rest of London. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. The location of the hotel is excellent (less than 5 minute walk to Gloucester Road tube and within walking distance of V&A museum, Hyde Park and Royal Albert Hall). Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. The only thing I would change is the shower door. It was very hard to move and never closed quite completely so there was some splashing. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and novelty shops all within easy walking distance. We loved the Ashburn hotel. The room was surprisingly large (a twin room) and spotlessly clean. The amenities were as described, e.g. robes, slippers, breakfast, small refrigerator in the room, etc. The hotel was very close to the tube - about 1 1/2 blocks and we felt very safe walking around the area. I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a King size room. The view was of the city road and was really breathtaking for someone new to the city. I loved the setup of the room and though that the bathroom was great. I had lots of room. I was able to walk to the Underground system in about 5 minutes. There are some restaurants, a souvenir shop with a post office, and a charity shop nearby with amazing finds (called Zara). The hotel's concierge was amazing. I was able to catch a show for half price while I was in town. I also though that the breakfast was amazingly good. One night I ordered a light meal off the room service menu. I really enjoyed the staff at the front, particularly Elena and Stephen (sp?). Very pleasant to talk to and certainly helped to make my stay very enjoyable. Made me sad to leave...:-) The free WiFi in the rooms was the only problem. It worked fairly well from about 8:00 AM to roughly 9:00 PM, then became totally unusable. This hotel appears to be an upscale boutique hotel but it is anything but! We booked this hotel based on the the reviews written here and were very disappointed. While the rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathroom is done quite well, the mattress and bedding is more like a Hotel 1, Cheap and very uncomfortable. We asked at the receiption for a […] room with a better mattress and was told that this is the mattress that is in every room. The food was horrible. For a boutique hotel the food is on the level of a one star US hotel. The soup was, I believe, canned and the bread resembled that of spongy wonder bread. The morning continental breakfast consisted of packaged baked goods, wonder bread for toast and boxes of cereal. The carpeting in the hallway and in the stairwell was old and dirty. At the end of a long day of sight seeing this hotel is very cold and unfriendly and the bed will leave you in ruins! My recommendation is to save your money, go to a hotel that is a 2 star and you would get the same level of service or get a good recommendation for a real four star hotel. There did not appear to be many people staying at this establishment. When we left the gentleman who was checking us out never said I hoped you enjoyed your stay with us, or how did you enjoy your stay with us. He said you are paid up. No have a nice day or anything. The staff were not particularly helpful. Advice given proved to be incorrect. The room was overheated and the AC instructions were hidden away in a drawer and not found till we were leaving. The Ashburn is a lovely hotel. We had a great room with loads of space and a lovely bathroom. Only draw back was the temperature, it was far too warm, but it obviously didn't bother us too much as we slept like logs. Small, comfortable hotel in a great location with an extremely friendly staff. Within one block was a full grocery, several excellent restaurants, and the Gloucester tube stop which services lines to the major attractions. Have traveled to Europe many times and would definitely return to this hotel while in London.
