It needs to be updated. Could hear everything being said from surrounding rooms. The TV was old as was the furniture. Rooms were small. There should be breakfast included in price of room. The competition of surrounding area hotels offer breakfast. Most are priced the same such as Hampton Inn which does a very nice breakfast. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. Since we arrived around 6:30 it would have been great if we could have gotten something to eat. Being away from any stores they should have some type of food available.

I think it was worth the money but we had a few issues. The first room we were in was fine except for a lack of convenient electrically outlets but our neighbors were disruptive. We had a bunch of teenagers running up and down the halls screaming throughout the night. Next night we were moved to a newly renovated room but still outlets were an issue […] and the curtains were not designed to close all the way despite the fact that the room faced the front. I had to use a binder clip to keep the curtains closed. Even with these problems, we will go back. It was nice enough for the price and the location was good. The hotel was away from the hustle and bustle of Morgantown, but close enough to get there within minutes. Resort was nice with the amenities included of pool, fitness, suana and gold, however due to the short visit and activities we had going on unable to use them. Rooms seems a liittle dated and it would have been nice to have a fridge & microwave […] in room, even thou not stated there was. Cheapr hotel we stayed in previous night at least included those. Room was comfortable, but the housekeeping was lacking. Very little toilet paper on roll and no addition roll left. Nice surrounding area, very quiet. The room was a little dated but worth the money. I didn't see much of the property as I arrived late and left very early. The front desk person was very courteous.

Have stayed at this hotel for many years. Usually get good deal during the winter months as was the case with this stay. Hotel is becoming very dated and the uncomfortable mattresses prove this. Rooms are old but clean. The bed's are horrrible. Need replacement. Very hard to get a good nights sleep. During our stay there were many party's going on during […] our two night stay. Rooms and halls were loud with noise all day and night. Had to call front desk several times to complain. Worked for awhile then noise continued. Parking is slim to none during these party events. Had to park way away from room. Was not happy about all the cars and comotion in the parking lots and lobby area's. Hotel has great location and is close to the WVU campus which is a plus. Also hotel bar is nice with good food and great service. I would say this hotel is worth a stay if the price is right. This was my first stay at Lakeview and I wasn't impressed. Standard-sized room with ordinary industry level furnishings comparable to any motel chain property. We had to crank the 70s-era wall heater to 80 before it would produce warm air, and apparently it hadn't been used for a while as we got the trademark "hot dust" odor for the first few minutes. […] I'll only be back if it's the only available option. Overall we were very pleased with our stay at Lakeview Golf Resort. We were unable to use the room safe because no one had a key. Also, we were there 3 nights & were provided with just two bath towels, one hand towel, & two washcloths each day. We were charged a $5 "resort fee" for each day there. We questioned this fee at checkout and were told it […] was for using the wireless internet & the indoor pool! There was no mention of either of these fees when checking in. And no mention of these fees in any of the brochures in the room. They did kindly remove those fees from our bill. The resort was huge & very spread out. But there was only ONE elevator for the whole building. We had to walk very far & go up & down several stairs to get to the lobby, pool, and restaurants. But the good outweighed the bad. Our room was comfortable & clean. The front desk staff was superb both checking in & checking out. The restaurants were very nice with good food. And the Lakeview golf course was beautiful & somewhat challenging. Cooper's Rock State Park was very close by & we had great fun hiking for three hours. We would definitely recommend this resort. This hotel/resort is in need of a serious update. Rooms are old, stuffy and used. Not dirty just used. There was some mold on the bathroom ceiling, but again just needs to be updated. Biggest issue was that we charged for a third adult guest by Expedia and the hotel was not informed of this or at least they acted like they did not know. So, each day […] we were there we had to ask for extra towels, three adults could take a shower. Of course we did have two double beds, but unfortunately they were probably the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. We would have been better off on the floor, might have been softer. I was a little nervous booking this room after reading the reviews and they were right, I should have stayed away!! After we checked in I went to take a shower and there wasn't a single towel (clean or dirty) in my room. I asked housekeeping for one and they said they didn't have any to give me. The hotel is on a golf course; and it's really beautiful. The grounds are beautiful. I took walks everyday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The views are just gorgeous. The rooms are another story. Was very disappointed with the first room. It was small and the bed was broken. When you sat at the foot of the bed the whole head part lifted off the ground about 9 inches. We called the desk and after 3 hours we had a guy come up and said he couldnt fix it. So we had to change rooms. The second room was better. The lot was small with only 2 handicap […] spots. I was concerned about staying in this resort after I read some reviews online which said the carpet stinks, reservations made for a handicap accessible room which was not available upon arrival, no elevators etc. My husband, Mother and I stayed at the Lakeview Resort on Fri. and Sat. There is no unpleasant odor in the halls. Our room was nicely furnished […] and clean. I reserved a handicap accessible room because my Mom is in a wheelchair and we were assigned a handicap accessible room, complete with a handicap shower. The room was much easier to use than some in other hotels. And, by the way there are elevators. My only negative comment is that we were there for a wedding reception. Before the dinner a bar and snacks were set up in the hallway in front of the ballroom. There either is no air conditioning in the halls or it was malfunctioning that day. This hotel should not be labeled as a resort. The price is overrated. There is no way the facilities are commensurate with the Marriot or Hampton Inn..

The hotel room was very outdated and cramped. Despite specifying that there would be 3 people staying the room, we were put in a room with two double beds. Breakfast was very expensive; $12.50. The buildings are dingy and in need of new carpet and paint. However, everything was clean.

Very cold swimming pool inside. No towels at swimming pool and hot tub the second day. There is a sign in the room to not take towels for swimming from the room. The sign tells you that towels will be provided at the pool area. No clean towels were provided at pool side. They were stingy with the shampoo. Only one tiny bottle was provided for 2 people […] for 2 days. We only had one set of towels and a wash cloth for 2 people for 2 days. Can not reach the outdoor pool. It is up a flight of over 50 steps. There was no elevator from the 2 nd floor to the lobby. The pool was on the 3 rd floor..had to climb steps. Will definitely stay at another motel next time. I found a hotel to be rather out of date. I decided to stay at the hotel cuz I thought it would be more convenient since we were there for a wedding. My family stayed at the holiday inn and the place was beautiful and gave you free breakfest too. I wish i stayed there instead.

The room had cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings and there was hair in the bathtub under the shower curtain, like they didn't look their to be cleaned. It was a nice place and you can tell they cleaned the rooms, I guess maybe a few things got overlooked.

This is a Golf Resort and the course is outstanding. I think they have a lot of conferences there and a lot of people doing golf packages. The staff was friendly and the service was good.

I was disappointed with the location of the hotel and the rooms were very outdated for the hotel to be recognized as a three star hotel. I thought the hotel was closer to WVU Coliseum as stated in on the internet website, it wasnt 5mins away it was 20. There werent any food places that delivered to the hotel late at nite.

It was a comfortable room - the beds were comfortable, room temperature was fine, the towels and chairs were nice, and everything was clean BUT... Hotel management really needs to bite the bullet and sink some money into updating the rooms, lobby, and pool. The beds and desks are fine, but new paint, new carpeting, new armoires and TVs, and ceiling […] repair need to be at the top of the priority list. The hotel may have been high-end 20 years ago, but not anymore. In the room I stayed in, the following updates would be required to make it a 4+ star hotel: - Repair the layer of textured paint that fell from/was still hanging from the ceiling - Replace the floor lamp that is fashioned with a green marble paint job - Replace the armoire - the edges and base were rubbed bare of the veneer - Replace the rear projection TV with a chip in the center of the glass with a flat panel TV - Update the window coverings so that the curtains block out the parking lot lights that are on all night - Make sure coffee mugs/cups are available. The in room coffee maker is useless without a way to consume the coffee. The lobby is really nice, but the carpeting really detracts from it - instead of laying flat, it was raised in waves in some places. I'd be willing to bet people trip on it often. The remote for the TV was duck taped together and it really didn't work fully. With it being a resort and spa in title and on a golf course I expected more. The Water Front was booked full so this seemd to be the next best option. It was kind of ghetto to me for something on a golf course and titled resort and spa! It seemed more like a Motel 6 or something, not very modern, not super clean, and kinda old and dingy in rooms. I assumed since this hotel was at a golf course resort and spa that it had to be improved since other reviews were written...I was wrong. The room was very small, out dated, and there was no overall sense of comfort. The room furniture, and bathroom fixtures don't seem to be recently updated and therefore don't scream "luxury." But it is decent. The staff were warm and went out of the way to be kind and helpfu. We went in Feb. 2012 and the grounds were gorgeous. You look outside the restaurant glass walls, and its like looking at a painting. The rolling golf course […] and mountain vista was beautiful. The location and amenities of the Lakeview resort are TERRIFIC, especially the Spa. The only negative comment I have is that the rooms are very outdated - possibly still from the 1970s. The beds were very comfortable and the heat/air conditioning worked even though the unit looked like it could fall apart at any time. The TVs are still old as well.
