When we checked in the hot water was so hot you could not take a shower. Then I called the help desk over and over finally they moved us from 131 to 128 another room. Then I could not access WiFi to do my work. I had to drive to McDonalds. I bought some food that I could not heat up in the room no microwave. It was the worse experience I ever had in […] Dallas. Sterling Hotel, Dallas is di most stinking hotel we have ever stayed. we stayed for two nites, we change room to another still the same filtiness. the carpet stinks, no towels, TV not working, No conplementry breakfast at all and the furnitures need changing. I will stop here. Thx for asking.

Yea, so the hotel is from the 70's, but it was exceptable for an overnight stay, the bed was soft, the sheets were clean, the overall room was clean. The tv was old and didnt really have enough channels, but unless your there to watch tv its ok. The Pool was nice, it goes from 3 to 9 ft deep, thats rare to see these days! the desk clerk was nice when […] we checked in, when we checked out the girls was kind of squirrely, but nice. the little coffee bar in the middle of the hotel is nice, they had starbucks coffee, but you have to pay at the reception desk - weird? that night we went to the grill/bar to eat. overall its a nice little bar, the bartender is a good bartender but not such a good waitress. She was really nice and apologetic when she forgot half our order, but the pizza was really really good. she seemed overwhellemed with phone orders and about 6 people at the bar and 3 other tables, i almost wanted to get up and help her! She was super nice and i felt they should have had someone esle there to help her. So overall - if you have business anywhere near the dallas market area, its a nice good cheap place to stay... the staff were not very friendly and did not know how to run the front desk. The halls were very dirty and my room was not cleaned very good. At 12:20 am a security quard tries to open my door but the chain was on the door, and starts saying that I was not suppose to be there. I had to go down to the front desk and ask what was going on. the fron desk […] forgot to update the guest list. I was so disappointed that I was suppose to stay 3 days but I checked out in 1 day. I reserved a room here because it was close to the location where I had a business appointment the next day. The exterior looks ok. The lobby is clean and well maintained. The elevators are scary. The doors bang loudly when opening and closing, making you wonder when they were last inspected. My room was on the 8th floor. The hall carpet was dirty. […] The carpet in the room was a lot better, but not clean. What would have been a nice view of the downtown Dallas skyline was ruined by the incredibly dirty window. The king sized bed was so extra, extra firm that I asked for a different room. In the second room, the bed was softer, but the maintenance man had to replace the flapped valve in the toilet. The hotel was old, but still had all the amemities and more. Small gift shop, bar, swimming pool and hot tub. The hotel location is a plus also between downtown and Irving. I would stay again if ocassion came up.

I checked in this Hotel late in the evening. When I checked in I was very tired. So didn't informed anyone at the same time, I was supposed to check out early in the monrning. The AC unit was broken, Bath curtain was damaged, Lamp buttons were not working, Radios's not working, And the bath tub was defected. The staff was rude both in the eveningna […] nd the morning time. The hotel was clean the Sports Bar was wonderful great food my Steak was so tender and cooked to perfection. The lady working the bar was beautiful and very nice. The cook was wonderful also. The pool great and the Jacuzzi too.

The hotel itself was beautiful, however the rooms left a lot to be desired. Broken items. Chairs that were old , lamps that were broken. Small TV Maid service was not quite up to par.

A once beautiful hotel now foul through neglect and want of cleanliness. The room was missing light bulbs and the smell of partying reeked through the halls. At best the staff was indifferent. I left my wallet in the room after check out and I had to make several calls because they would only explain why, for one reason or another,they couldn't help […] me and it was never returned. I was very tired of my 6 hr drive to Dallas I got to the hotel and I waited 25min in the lobby because there wasent anybody in the front desk. After my 25min wait I went to my room and I went straight to the bath room to take a shower but once i walked in the bathroom I saw a LIZARD (NOT PLAYING). I woke up early in the morning and ready for my shower […] and the shower head didnt work, heater also didnt work so all night it was freezing, their was no Hot water, and Blanket smelled bad..... The hotel shuttle only goes to the small airport and NOT DFW. There was no hot water for my morning shower. Food in the restaurant (bar) was poor. Overall a poor experience.

Hotel was in poor condition. Eleveators were not working properly and people were getting stuck in the elevator. The shower in my room did not have hot water. Informed the front desk at 8am that morning about the water, then again at 12, then again at 4, then at 5 i demanded to be transfered to another room. First room bathroom wasnt cleaned. It still had a dirty wash cloth and half a bottle of hotel shampoo in it. 2nd room curtain was falling down and hair in bathtub. It was so gross. I would never recommend it.

Must have been a grand hotel at one time not too long ago. Rooms were less than desired. Service was slow to poor. Dining room is clean but only one person to handle everything. Credit care machine in dining room was not working. Also, sports bar was the pits.

The sterling is a not so good place. The only good thing was the internet worked. Arrived at 10:30 am courtney would not allow us to get in the room till nearly 3:30 pm. The parking lot was 10% full. Looks good outside and in the lobby. Arriving in room 810 the bed had a noticable dip of 4 inched in the middle. Bathroom was dirty and rusty. Ordered […] a sandwich from the grill took 2 hours and 2 calls to get. Restaurant was closed the next morning, had to drive 4 miles to a Denny's. Room value was not good. I read several reviews of the Sterling in Dallas that were very negative. My experience/stay was much more pleasant. The staff were friendly and accomidating. The hotel is old, but was reasonably clean. I had a problem with the TV in the room, called the fromt desk, maintenance arrived very quickly and corrected the problem. I MADE THIS RESERVATION FOR ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEES FROM ANOTHER BRANCH. HE SAID THERE WAS NO WORKING SHOWER, HE CALLED THE FRONT DESK TO BE INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT AT THAT TIME, IT WOULD BE A COUPLE OF HOURS. HE HAD TO BE AT WORK IN 1 HOUR. I WILL NEVER BOOK A ROOM AT THIS PLACE AGAIN!

The main problem I had with this hotel is that the bed was not comfortable. The pillows were kind of balled up, like that had been washed and dried. Not at all comfortable. The Sterling Hotel was once a 5 star hotel very close to Texas Stadium where the Cowboys played. It is still a good deal and a beautiful building. 4 elevators mean no waiting, easy access to airports and downtown Dallas, the room was clean and service was quick and professional. they didn't have a resturant open when I was there so I don't know about […] the food. This was my worst experience staying at any hotel in all my life, I stayed at hotels where i paid a lot less and it was a lot cleaner, and would never stay at a place like this and would never let any one stay at a place like it

the furniture in the room was very old and stained, the tv was very small, and the carpet was old as well. this hotel needs a total renovation. the elevators are old and smelly and no a/c. if the owner will spend money on renovating the place i would happily stay there again.
