Musky, poorly lit hallways. Sink would drain. Had to take parts from sink to drain. Barroom fan didn't work. Neighborhood is sketchy at best. Way overpriced for what it was!

I READ ALL THESE REVIEWS ON HOW TERRIBLE THIS HOTEL WAS..AND TO BE HONEST I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE UPPITY PEOPLE WHO WROTE THEM BECAUSE THIS HOTEL WAS NOT EVEN BAD..THERE WERE NO BED BUGS AND TRUST ME I LOOKED CONSIDERING MOST PEOPLE WROTE THAT THEIR WERE, THERE WAS A FUNKY OLD CIGERETTE AND WET CAPRET ODOR BUT IT DIDNT SEEP INTO MY ROOM, THE ROOMS WERE […] CLEAN AND THERE WAS NO GRIME IN THE BATHROOM. "Great for the price"
It wasn't the most comfortable hotel, but it was certainly good for the price we paid.
It was ok for the price. To much noice. Parking full most of the time.

Very out-dated rooms. The volume on the TV would only go up to the point where I could here it if the A/C was turned off and I would make no other noise. Beds, not very comfortable. The receptionist was not knowlegeable of the event, Rose Bowl Parade. We asked where the flutes was located, so we can take pictures, he does not know. Anything about the parade he does not know. He did not exert any effort to help, regarding the event. I told him, they should be knowlegeable because a lot of people go there for the Parade. The room […] was unsafe, there was a whole or space on top of the door, where somebody can see inside the part of the room. The door in the first place cant be lock when you go out. Hotel has Homeless people living in alley and wandering the parking garage day and night. Also is a party room area for Drugs and drinking. Dont let your Kids stay here.

Very good location to transit and eating locations as well as a nearby pharmacy. Although the bathroom needed to be thouroughly cleaned as it looked like they just put towels and didn't clean. Other than that room was great

one of the nastiest hotels iv stayed in, smells like crap and looks like crap. i don't even want to imagine the things that could be in the beds or shower. never again. i would pay 120$ a night at any hotel from now on after this experience
"Very limited use of microwave"
I had booked for a hotel with a microwave and fridge but to my surprise, this hotel has only one microwave that can only be available to use in the morning before 10am. I think that is ridiculous for a mother like me who has kids that can get hungry at intervals. I was so pained in the heart when I brought my children from school and begged to microwave […] cup noodles for the kids to eat, the response I got was so cold and cruel. The front desk staff claimed that the keys to the room where they keep the microwave was with the house-keeper who only comes in the mornings. "the dirtiest hotel i have ever seen"
NEVER STAY AT THIS PLACE the whole place smelled like dead rats covered in moth balls. the tub had major rust stains and the sink was had chipped finish revealing the base. the sheets looked like the were never cleaned and just used again.

i thought this would be a decent hotel because of the howard johnson name. no the case. this was roach motel quality. rooms look like they havent been renovated in 30 years. sink was disgusting and leaked. you are better off at a super 8, best value inn. i severly overpaid for this dump.

Close to subway and main bus line. 24 hr grocery store. Wi fi is a bit weak in rooms. Washroom maintenance issues. Complimentary breakfast was sufficient. Owner and staff very friendly.

good value for a very convenient location. friendly staff. the room was big and despite being in very run down condition was quite clean. good housekeeping. good complimentary breakfast. only problem was the flaky wifi. may be better in a different area of the hotel but was quite useless from our room on level two.

Horrible experience..... My toilet was clogged and they made me wait overnight until the next day to get a plunger... I felt very uncomfortable in the bed now I have 7-10 strange bite marks on me.... I did not see bed bugs but I am concerned....

Needed a place near hollywood and this was substantially lower in cost than having a great location so you get what you pay for. Hotel quality was outdated and old but maids kept it clean. Nice enough. Kind of a poor neighborhood. Went for a walk and turned the "wrong" way and ended up in a pretty sketchy hood of koreatown. Turned the other way and found great shops some nice restaurants and the subway which took us all over la. The Internet didn't work in our room despite there being an access point right outside the door. I think it […] was broken - but it worked well in the continental breakfast room. (which was as good a continental breakfast I've ever had) andnit worked well in the lobby. If you are looking for a good value room and friendly staff it's a great deal. "Universal Studios Trip"
This hotel is fine for sleeping. It's old and it smells old, but it was fine for a small budget. I think it needs a little maintenance, change carpets, bath tubes, etc.

It was inexpensive... and in this sense, I mean cheap. But you get what you pay for. The TV didn't work right for the first few days (to turn it off at one point, we had to unplug it), the a/c sucked, the elevator didn't work right and a number of the buttons were mislabelled. there was a leak coming from the bath tub room above our room 227 also there were roaches underneath the sink i hope never have to use that hotel the only thing i like from the hotel is the security and front counter guys hotels.com need to take this hotel from their list
i encountered two cockroach twice,the hotel is pretty beat up,water in the shower dont have enough pressure,you could feel the hotel shaking when the big metro bus passes on the outside

First off, the parking was HELL. They only have around 30 parking spaces it seems like. I had to park on the street. Thank god it was a Saturday night because if it were during the week, in the morning you have to move your car or pay parking. The room looked like a 5.5 but the weird thing was I kept feeling like there was something in the bed. The […] bed cover was untrustworthy but the sheets looked great so I only slept on them. The continental breakfast they talk about is only Juice, slices of bread and a bowl of cereal. I can handle places like this for the conveience of the location, BUT I will NEVER stay here again.
