Very good, but no change facilities for the pool!

Hotel was centrally located to old Santa Fe. A lot work is currently being done. The hotel is clean and moderate. Great pool area and breakfast.

Super nice pool and hot tub area. It even has a small grassy area for relaxing. We traveled March 2012 and after a long day on Ski Santa Fe the hotel was relaxing. Pool open till 10:30 Nice service too. We stayed in a smoking room and even it was OK. This was by request

My husband and I came to Santa Fe for a 3 day course so we wanted to stay near the location. The motel was very comfortable, affordable and close to the things we needed. They have a nice indoor pool and hot tub in a very nice green house type room. The breakfast was fairly routine but interesting in that there were alternatives like real kashi and […] non-dairy milks. The room itself was comfortable and clean. And the folks that work and run the place were very kind, helpful and made us feel welcome. This is a well kept, centrally located, motel. The rooms are small, but kept clean and updated. The pool and hot tub were great after skiing! We enjoyed the ping pong table and the breakfast. The person who checked us in was very accommodating and brought us extra towels and pillows. Not a good business place, but great vacation get away.

This place had the best breakfast buffett I have ever seen at a motel. There was a wide variety of healthy and tasty foods and plenty of it. We often stay at budget motels and this was one of the best.

The hotel in Santa Fe was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Easy to get to bus stop to go downtown.

I was doubtful when we drove up to the hotel which looked like an 70's motel. But we were pleasantly surprised with the size of our room, cleanliness and overall comfort. We had a suite with a kitchen in a building across the side street. It was a bit inconvenient to the other amenities of the hotel but not so much to be a real issue. We thoroughly […] enjoyed the breakfast which was served in a lovely dining room and not the lobby of the hotel as in many places. The breakfast included toast, bagels, canned peaches, oatmeal, muffins, milk, juice, and coffee. So much more than the usual fare. The pool and jacuzzi were overly cholorinated but we did spend some time there. All in all we enjoyed are stay and were pleased with our accommodations. Really a good value for the money. We spent 3 nights at the Lamplighter over Fall Break from school. It is an older motel, but has been beautifully kept up, is spacious, clean and pleasant, and the location can't be beaten! Ten minutes from the Plaza, the Rail Runner and the museums! Wow! This is an older motel-style hotel, but has been kept up very well. We had a room on the second floor, which had a very high slanted ceiling, made of dark wood with big beams. This made the room feel very spacious. In addition to the king bed, there was a small desk and a table with two chairs. A partial wall separates the bed area from the sink/fridge […] and a small bathroom, so the room felt a bit more like a suite. The in-wall A/C/heater worked well. It was a bit loud, but that's pretty standard for this style of hotel. The free wifi was easy to connect to and reasonably fast. The street outside was very busy and under construction, so traffic was not great. I assume this will clear up a bit when the construction is done. Even with traffic, it was a pretty quick trip to the downtown area. If you plan to spend a lot of time downtown though, you might want to consider a hotel there, if you're willing to pay the price. Otherwise you'll have to drive in and pay to park every time, though there may be a bus you can take. There's a nice Smith's grocery store across the street, and quite a few restaurants around. We didn't visit any as we were only there for one day and spent most of the day in downtown. We did have a nice wine and cheese snack in our room after visiting the grocery store, and it was a very comfortable stay. There's a nice-looking indoor pool and hot-tub, but we didn't have time to use them. The free breakfast was a bit of a step up from the usual, but still definitely "continental". The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming on check-in and check-out. We had no problems with anything, so we didn't have any other interaction, but the care taken to keep the hotel in good shape makes me think any problem we might have had would have been resolved quickly. hotel manager very helpful when I complained about construction noise outside initial room, she immediately relocated me to another room that was actually an upgrade. This was my second stay at this hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

The room was overpriced for the quality. All of the furnishings were quite dated. The sofa was too scary to sit on. The temperature and the size was fine, but I would rather stay elsewhere.

Hotel was very old. Looked clean, outdated and I thought had a smell of cigaretts and mildew.

This hotel was horrible. Dirty, old. The bathroom sink and counter were falling off the wall. The Kitchen area is ORIGINAL from the 50's. Walls and ceilings paper thin. I told them I had a handicap child and they sent me to a room in a building across the street. Out our room door was the dumpster from a restaurant and the back of an Autozone complete […] with fence and razor wire. pretty good deal. very clean and close to old town santa fe. some problems....beds were very, very firm. breakfast room was too small, so if you didn't get there at just the right time, you had to eat standing, take food back to your room, or eat outside.

Although the room was clean, this is an older hotel that they are trying to keep updated, but getting to the breakfast room of the pool is rather like a maze. It was an "OK" stay, but we probably will not use it again.

If you're not concerned with staying at a trendy southwest style hotel and saving some money, this is the place for you. Staff was very friendly about recommendations and any requests we had. Pool area is very nice and well kept. Breakfast has wide selection and dining area was roomy and clean. The room itself was spacious and clean, a little generic […] on decorations, but like I said if you don't want to stay in a stucco style building on the plaza and pay a mint, this is the place. Compared to other hotels in Santa Fe, this hotel is a great bargain! The room was small, but comfortable, and included a refrigerator. The pool and hot tub were very nice. This inn is only a few miles to downtown Santa Fe, is across from a small shopping center with grocery store, and near restaurants. We had a room at the back of the property with parking next to room. There is a microwave, refrigerator, iron, and hair dryer available in the room. The hair dryer wasn't very good, so I would recommend you take your own. […] Our room was quiet, and only a short walk to the breakfast room area, with nice plants and trees along the walk. Excellent!! I think for the price it my family had a great stay. Pool was great. Breakfast...great! There was access to internet. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The hotel was very clean and the staff very courteous. We will definitely stay there again.

We just spent 6 nights here with with our two boys and had a great stay. The room was clean and comfy, the pool and hot tub were great, and we used the kitchenette to make dinner 4 times. Good location for day trips into downtown Sant Fe and the mountains beyond. There are restaurants nearby and also a great playground less than 1/2 a mile away.

Though the structure of this hotel is a bit older than some others we have stayed in the condition of everything was great. Room was clean, breakfast had lots of options (including some healthier ones than other places) and the pool was large and had a unique atmosphere having an open roof and lots of plants. A good stopover point.

We stayed in a kitchenette room. We planned on staying 2 nights and then going up to Taos for another 3 nights. This place was such a bargain and so comfortable that we decided to stay at the hotel those other nights. The only problem we had was the fridge broke but it was repaired quickly. Our room had a VCR - pretty useles these days. The outside […] isn't much to look but the inside is quite comfortable and has great a/c - quite an asset since it was in the 90's here. Personnel at reception is very friendly and very well trained. Rooms are relatively small but with very good beds. Very quiet at nights. Breakfast is excellent and being able to have it in the beautiful outdoor space is a real plus. Very nice pool and recreation facilities. Good stay at any time of the year. When reading the other reviews of this hotel we noticed several reviews referring to the excellent service. Those reviews are what made us decide to try them out since customer service seems to be an endangered practice. We were very pleased with the customer service at this hotel. The front desk host was very pleasant and helpful. He was more than […] willing to answer questions about local restaurants and joked around with us. When there was a billing issue, he fixed the problem immediately and admitted that he had made a mistake and apologized without making a bunch of excuses. The host that was working the breakfast area was also very pleasant. The hosts that we dealt with acted like they enjoyed their jobs and not just their for a paycheck. My wife also mentioned the landscaping and how much work it appeared they put into it. We noticed flower pots hanging on the rails and lots of very well maintained plants. Americas Best Value is very convenient being that it's location allows you to visit downtown quickly and with ease. Although we did not meet staff, the personnel up front was very friendly. We know the pictures dont appear to attract much but the rooms were clean, beds were comfy, pool seemed good and appliances worked properly. A decent stay for a […] family or couples especially if you wanna site see all the historic places downtown. If anything all they need is to pick up the slack with their overall design. This hotel is excellent value in a town known for it's expensive accommodations. I was especially impressed with the free breakfast which included natural wholegrains, yoghurt and soy milk as well as dairy and it's available from 0600. Then there is the really nice cafe Ole a few steps away for a more substantial breakfast or lunch and really good coffee. […] Very central to both north and south Santa Fe and close to the hospital. There was a problem with the room reserved for us, so we were given a choice to receive an upgrade with a kitchenette or an even larger room at no extra cost to us. Like the title suggests, I felt that the hotel was a good value. Everything was comfortable and the employee found us an extra cot at 2 AM when we checked in, so I was pleased with that. Didn't get a chance to hit the pool but heard it was nice. My only complaint was that breakfast ended at 9 AM, which we missed the first morning since we got in late. […] And the outlet that ran the coffee maker blew the 2 morning we were there.
