enjoyed it very much....but we were charged twice on my credit card for the same day...would like to get that fixed really fast if possible. hotle told us that the same room was booked twice on the sane day....

OK hotel, room had a musty smell to it. The painters used the bathroom sink to clean up and left paint in the sink. Breakfast on par with most hotels, nothing to write home to mom about. Standard offerings with no cooked items, ie bacon, sausage, eggs. OK for the price for a day or so BUT if you want something special look elsewhere!

The room was neat, clean and everything was in good working order. Staff was very attentive, professional and made some great recommendations! The hotel is in a very good spot. I was able to walk to all the places that I wanted to go to in downtown Helen. I didn't have to drive my car anywhere.

It was the most worst place I have ever stayed. It was so nasty. My husband took a shower and went to use one of there towels and somebody " house keeper maybe" wiped there butt on the towel. The stay was fine, but I was not satisfied with with the cleanliness or the up keep of room. There was hair in the shower, the coffee pot was broken, and when we got the iron and ironing board, the board was broken. I was glad that I had only booked one night.

This Hotel needs some maintenance badly. The Pool roof looks to have been there for years and needed replacing long ago. Rooms have been painted and are kept clean but could use some overall maintenance, tables and chairs were lose, doors were lose, toilet seat was lose, front door middle dead bolt wouldn't lock, when we went to change fan on heat/ac […] unit cover fell off. Toilet overflowed, called front desk, no one came, finally we went and got the plunger and cleaned up the mess ourselves, Did not clean room one day at all. Staff was friendly. This was a great hotel for the price. The rooms are typical for a hotel of this class, but had been renovated because they looked more modern than the pictures. The breakfast is also what you would expect,nothing great but enough to avoid eating out and paying for another meal. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The only drawback is […] that on our final night the pool was closed and drained for repairs, but when open was nice to have the indoor heated pool in winter. I would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff. Decent service with breakfast for the cost. Location was prime especially for the price. Although the room was clean the ceiling above the tub looked like it was about to cave in. Not sure if they should have given us that room. The first night we were the only ones in the entire building, but then the second night they put a family […] of 3 in the room directly beside us which kind of put a downer on the romantic getaway. The hotel rooms were what you would expect from a Motel 8 except for this location is better-maintained than most. Greg and the staff were very hospitable and kind and let us change rooms without hassle. Only complaints is that the floors are super-thin. We had a room on the 2nd floor the first night and could hear the TV of our neighbor loud and clear. […] as they could ours. The pool was nice and the continental breakfast was better than expected. We have stayed in Helen many times but this was our first stay at this hotel. We were so surprised at the cleanliness, how courteous the staff was, the continental breakfast, and most of all the location. We could walk to anything and everything that we wanted. Our room was not ever cleaned,no more towels brought to us. No tissue in box. We had two rooms,one for our friend and during the middle of the night. They realized the hotel clerk had gave her the wrong room. The clerk wanted her to move in the middle of the night. They worked it out. We would not stay here again. This is the type of place to stay when there are no other places available at the moment. The rooms are very outdated and the beds are to the point that you can actually feel the box springs while you sleep. Upon entering, there was hair in the bathroom floor. All cleaning done in the room is done on a very superficial level. The pool itself is nice […] but the building where it is housed is very old, mildewed, and has holes throughout the roof. My boyfriend and I traveled to Helen, GA the weekend before Christmas for a little getaway. The location of the Super 8 was very convenient. Walking distance from most of the attractions. My only complaint was the multiple power outages during our first night that continued into the mid-morning. Apparently the entire city was experiencing power outages […] due to the powerful winds. We arrived from Saint Augustine for a four-night stay and the staff readily accommodated our late check-in. The room was comfortable and spacious; the only problem was an arm chair with a cracked arm, but that chair was removed and replaced immediately. After a good night's sleep, we were treated to a spectacular view of the sunrise over the mountains […] from our southeast-facing room. The coffee maker, fridge, and microwave functioned well and the bathroom amenities were entirely satisfactory. The breakfast room was clean and orderly. The fruit, milk, orange juice, and apple juice were fresh and cold. The coffee/tea bar was well stocked and there was a good selection of other breakfast entrees. The hotel is located on the main street within easy walking distance of everything in Helen. The quality of the housekeeping staff was exemplary. It was great for the price. Perfecet location. Walking distance from everywhere so you don't have to pay to park in the lots. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. It is nice that it had the extras like a mini fridge and a microwave. The indoor pool was nice also.

My husband and I just returned from a 2-night stay in Helen. The room and staff at Super 8 were quite satisfactory. The price of the room was very reasonable and we enjoyed our stay.

The Staff was friendly, the hotel was clean. After that it went significantly downhill... the worst bed we have ever slept in.(my husband had better nights sleeps in Iraq and Afghanistan) There was an musky/moldy odor in the room which we didnt notice until we woke up the next morning. The rooms were not very soundproof we heard every little peep outside... […] The breakfast was standard for a hotel of this caliber. If you want to wake up very sore after a bad nights sleep then stay here otherwise I would run... definately not worth the money that we spent. Great location- within walking distance to downtown Helen. The room was clean with no bugs - always a plus. The front desk clerk, John, was the most hospitable and friendly motel employee I have ever met. For the price, it's a great deal.

Had not checked out and came back to my room after breakfast to use restroom and 2 people were cleaning it. they were very nice and left the room so I could use my room. besides that,things were nice. able to check in early which was great.

This hotel was a fiasco from the word go. Upon check-in I was told their "heated" pool (which is situated in a green-house style cover) was not operational and the water was about 55 degrees. When I got to my room, I discovered broken light fixtures, ripped lamp shades, and a television that was built before the Clinton administration. As I had all […] of my children with me, I was going to try to play a DVD to keep everyone entertained. This was not to be because the television had no hook-ups for such a thing. So the pool and DVD options for the family were out. Next to go was the bathroom. After only one use the flush valve broke and after contacting the front desk about the problem, I was told there was no maintenance person available. I had to switch rooms with all 6 kids and wife in-tow and grumbling. When I get to the new room (so convienently located directly in front of the ice-maker) I quickly learned we would be treated to the constant dispensement of ice to the entire hotel. Nice. The complimentary breakfast consists of frozen cinnimon buns, cold cereal, and borderline rotten fruit. At least the coffee was terrible too. I wouldn't want to ruin good coffee with bad food. The staff was helpful and nice but they were only to able to make lemonade out of their lemon of a hotel. Needless to say, I will never recommend this place nor will I be back. At least it was cheap. When we got to our room it hadn't been cleaned. Needs a new refrigerator, and coffee pot, although the frig kept things cool it needed to be defrosted and a thermastat dial and the coffee maker leaked. The bed was not very comfortable. Location was awesome and the people that ran it were very nice.

My wife and I have stayed here twice now. It's hard to beat the price and to be right in downtown Helen is just great. Beautiful town. This hotel is a typical bargain hotel but is always clean. Nothing fancy. But if you need a cheap, clean and convenient place to stay I would definitely recommend it.
