Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel - San Diegas

My recent stay at the Best Western Yacht Harbor was good overall. My room was clean and the prices are economical, considering the amenities (microwave, refrigerator, cable tv, free continental breakfast, etc.). I was, however, displeased that I had no view of the nearby harbor, the fitness room was stocked with only about 4-5 machines, and the items […] in the vending machines were grossly over-priced. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, taking our bags into storage as we checked in early. There were freshly baked cookies and pots of coffee in the lobby. The room was clean, and the bed linen was crisp and ironed, and the pillows were plentiful and fluffy, not old and tired! Conveniently located to harbor, downtown and airport. Air conditioning system in room we stayed needs improvement. Room is clean except carpet has to be vacuumed regularly. Service is great and continental breakfast is good.

We were only in San Diego overnight. The Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel was in an excellent location. The rooms need to be updated but were clean.

We stayed here while my wife ran the Rock and roll Marathon. This was an excellent location due to the proximity of restaurant, to the beaches, and downtown. The staff was very helpful at checkin, and were very friendly. They offered a shuttle for the race, and free parking. The noise level on the harbor view was pretty high due to the road out front, […] but it wasn't unbearable. The pool is pretty small, but the kids enjoyed it, and the hot tub. The breakfast in the morning was pretty tasty, they have waffles, along with bagels, toast, etc. They also have coffee in the lobby all day, and it was pretty good. Skaityti daugiau

We spent 7 nights there and in general the experience was a good one. The only problem was that we paid extra for a harbor view. What we got was a third floor room that was in the corner and faced directly out toward the exterior stairs. We could see the tops of the ships masts but little or no water. The maintenance and housekeeping staff were very friendly but the front desk personel were very disinterested. When I checked in no one smiled or acted liked they cared if you were there or not. The 4 days that we were they not one of them acknowledged us when we came and went. Very unfriendly front staff.

We spent the last nights of our trip through california in this hotel. There are several nice restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. But the surrounding is not very nice...the hotel is located too far from downtown San Diego so that the neighborhood seems to be poor. A big advantage is that all famous beaches can be reached within 10min. And […] that the car can be parked in the garage of the hotel. Breakfast is nothing special but ok, there are a bit too less tables, so when you arrive in rush hour you probably have to wait for a place to take a seat. I booked this hotel based on affordability and relative location to Coronado Island...our favorite place in the San Diego Area. We didn't even realize one of our favorite restaurants is across the street. Jimmy's is a little pricy but amazing views and great service. Hotel staff were great and had free underground shaded parking. The only real negative […] reviews I read were concerning the traffic noise and Im a very light sleeper. The noise is there but no where near as bad as some write. Our room was on the side of the building adjacent to the parking lot next door and I was ok sleeping, which says a lot. Queen beds have tags that say Queen but you better love the person in your bed because they seem a little small. All and all amazing location and pricing was amazing all things considered. The room for the breakfast was much too small. There was only one attendent servicing the room, could not keep it stocked and serviced due to large number of guests. The room was good, clean and comfortable. The employees were professional and friendly

We booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and had an airport shuttle. When I called for the shuttle at about 8 pm, I was informed that the shuttle didn't operate after 5 pm, and we would need a cab. Since the hotel is close to the airport, that cab ride was not to bad ($15 with tip). The room was clean, but a little small. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was very noisy due to traffic noise and not clean. There are some sort of jets that fly over every night around 11 pm that shake the whole hotel. The curtains were torn and tied in a huge knot and when I complained to the management they did absolutely nothing about it. I asked them if all of the […] rooms were in bad shape or just mine. They said just mine but did not follow up with an offer to switch rooms. I took pictures and will be sending them to corporate Best Western. I loved this hotel. I had ac issues in my first room and was moved to another room without issue. Extended the stay, very close to downtown, across from Shelter Island. Perfect location! Friendly staff and clean rooms. Will def. stay here again.

We were right across from the harbor and enjoyed being able to walk across the street to see the yachts coming and going. It is not close enough to downtown to walk however there's a lot less chaos that way. Plenty of places to eat around us. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was comfortable and we loved sitting out on the balcony. […] All in all it was a very nice stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The only downside was the breakfast. This hotel is older, but my room was as clean (or cleaner) than hotels of much higher $. Breakfast, gym & business center were all available. Location with harbor view was very nice! Would definitely stay here again. Don't let the low price scare you away as it almost did for me.

Not so much...! We were greeted by a not-so-friendly front desk clerk and checked in. We were given our keys and directed to the 3rd floor. Opening the room we were met by 2 queen beds instead of the king we had reserved. I called down to the front desk and was first told that they had no king rooms available. I read her my reservation that said "King […] room, bay view and, if possible, corner room". The response was that, after all they did have a king, but that it was on the ground floor just around the corner from the front desk. When I asked how noisy it might be, the response was curt - a "take it or leave it" attitude. We took it and while it was a king, the parking lot view certainly wasn't in keeping with the reservation info. I later called down (same clerk) and reserved my spot on the 8 am shuttle to the airport. The next morning at 8:10 am and after waited for 25 minutes, I went inside the lobby only to be met by the (very pleasant) driver of the shuttle who said that his schedule had no one booked for 8 am and, in fact, my name was not on his list at all. He immediately took me to the airport, about 5 mintues away. While I was waiting for the shuttle, I used the bathroom near the lobby. It was visibly unclean; dirt on the floor, etc. The best I can say is that the location to the airport was good. I don't plan to return to this site on future trips. Skaityti daugiau

Overall this hotel is clean but dated. Restaurant is just across the street. I would say location is in a good area. Also this hotel is not too far from Sea World.

The hotel/motel looked ok and there was a plenty of free parking place. Considering that the motel is the place to sleep at night, this place was a great disappointment. The room windows were facing the busy Harbor Drive street and the windows offered very little isolation from the noise. Even with ear plugs the sleeping was pretty much impossible. […] I had a 5AM departure. We left the room in the morning and expected to get it cleaned new towels etc. We got back to our room at about one pm to see that our soiled towels were removed but not replaced? Beds not made,vacuumed nothing.... Then why bother to take old towels? Called the front desk to see what the deal was, and was told that i had to request maid service by ha.ging […] a sign on the doorknob...what? Never heard of this ever. My friends & I needed a place to stay before our joining our cruise the next day. This hotel met our needs with free airport & cruise shuttle. The free breakfast was also great. There can be some airplane noise but none late at night so we all slept well. We would definitely come again.

very noisey, on a major road and not only can you hear the traffic all night but can also hear the rooms next to you. The breakfast room is much too small for the size of the hotel, no place to sit. The location is good, not far from anything, the staff was good as well. Wont be staying here again

I stayed here one night after returning to San Diego from Palm Springs. The hotel is close to the airport, Point Loma, Old Town, and Sea World. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful and it was great to have a continental breakfast.

the services were terrific, Bella & an Engineer moved us from a 2 Queen room (the hotel was full) to a king size for our 2nd night and helped with all our luggage. clean, comfortable room, great breakfast too. good value.

Generally a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a non-smoking room but someone on our floor, maybe even the room next door, had guests who smoked (a lot) so the smoke filtered into our room the first two nights making it hard to breathe. We opened the balcony door which helped but I had to hold my hand over my mouth to walk to […] the elevator. The breakfast was very good but the room used for breakfast was way too small--always crowded and never an empty table.
