I stayed for 4 days and was ok with it. If you're looking for modern (in regards to anything a typical hotel has now) then don't choose the Isabella. It's not falling apart, but it's not modern by any means. My room was comfortable. The hallways smelled of over cooked food constantly. The free breakfast they tout is cereal and odd, randomly chosen pieces […] of toasted bread. On the other hand, if you need to be downtown, on a budget then for the cost consider Isabella. But be ware, parking is off site and cost me $62 for the 4 nights (that's after me refusing to pay the parking attendant $100!). I was also charged $50 for wired Internet service within the room which I was unaware of until I got home and saw it was charged to my card. Wireless Internet is only available in the lobby.... Which isn't a place you really wanna hang out in... Just not 'cozy' It is what it is which is basically a place to sleep. Reminded me of a hostel except I had a private room and bathroom. Room is cold and small. There is cable internet connection but no table to place the laptop.Fridge with nothing inside and bed cover sheet is old.Overall the hotel is neat and acceptable but receive no recommendation from me. Slightly overpriced.

Exceeded my expectations. Happy to see a restaurant in the basement, staff very helpful. Only stayed one night. Room was small but perfectly adequate for our needs as I am not a demanding traveler. Location was very good and very acceptable. I'd stay again.

it is too dirty and you can ont sleep on the bed room because the blanket is burned by siggarate ,also it has very bad smell in the room and elivator.Really i can not recommand any one togo to that hotel .I just waste my money in that trush

My room was grubby. I won't say it was dirty in that I wasn't disgusted enough to leave but it hadn't been cleaned properly after the previous guests moved out (I found some of their rubbish in 2 different places) and wasn't cleaned throughout once in the time that I was there (over a week) despite the maid coming in a few times - she didn't even replace […] the empty toilet roll, I had to go to reception and ask for one. You could also tell that it wasn't being cleaned properly as mildew was starting to build up in some areas. On the upside I found it quiet, there was a fridge in the room which was really handy and there was a coffee maker (although there was no socket that it reached so I had to put it next to the tv which felt unsafe and the maid didn't replenish the coffee inserts). The room was small but had enough storage for me as a lone traveller. I also found it very hot so had the window open despite it being freezing outside. Breakfast was limited and basically an add on in reception. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful and its close enough to the metro to walk with my luggage. Not far from the main parts of the city like the Eaton Centre (walking distance). Its also opposite a reasonable food store - very handy. Skaityti daugiau

The room was barely big enough to put a queen sized bed in. This room was far, far too small; far, far too cramped; and far, far too expensive for what was received.

Horrific is the only word that comes to mind. I stay regularly at Red Rood and so I'm not a hotel snob. However, I appreciate a mattress that is under 25 years old, an elevator that is free of crud and trash, an entry that has some semblance of a luggage or wheelchair ramp, rather than 2 board loosely laid on the steps, some legal way to check in and […] have a car...I had to park in a no parking zone and was offered no idea, as if this had never come up before. It was a perfect ending, the last night, as I was attempting to log on the internet (never happened during the last 18 hours I was there), a very distinguished couple came down the elevator, clearly upset and got no understand as they tried to cancel their stay. The room was quite small, but I am ok with this. The sheets of the bed were clean, but the bed cover was a bit smelly. The worst thing about the room is that it had a broken window were the cold air was blowing into the room. People of the hotel had to be aware of this, as the curtain was set in a way trying to avoid the cold air to get into the room […] (which was definitely not possible). We were disapointed that there was no parking. The hotel info. wasn't too clear on the parking. The Continental breakfast left much to be desired.

The Isabella was very good for my 2 night need. As a single, the small size of the room was not a problem (though my last time there was with a second person and the room was somewhat cramped). BUT, with one of the lowest room rates in or near downtown, I would certainly return to the Isabella. A simple cereal breakfast was adequate for me and included […] in the room rate. For the price, the room was adequate, though the HVAC system didn't seem to work very well. Staff was friendly. Cleaning of the room was not terribly thorough. A good 20 minute walk to Yonge Street and the University, however.

The Isabella is cheap for downtown Toronto but by Canadian standards the rooms are very small and the bathroom more what I would expect in a cheap hotel in France. It is in a very convenient place for getting around the town.

Overall a good experience considering the very low price. I had a small room, very little space, sheets were OK and bathroom was clean. Would have liked to have a desk to work on. Complementary internet in rooms does require a cable (which is offered for free at the front desk). Only a double bed for 2 guests - we asked for a room with 2 beds and were told this would cost us =( The window in our room could not be opened - I hate it when that's the case... Free wi-fi in the lobby, but no computer present..

I was not impressed, someone before me had written clean me in the grime on the window. The bar in the lobby was not functional as they did not have a liquor license. The wireless access was only available in the lobby, and breakfast was also in the lobby with only two round tables you either sat at the defunct bar on a stool or at low coffee tables […] in the lobby area. Breakfast was more basic man a mac donalds,cereals and toast or a sweet cake thing. The basement restaurant was basic food but good quality prices I paid more for dinner there than a high class hotel in Calgary,and the neighbourhood did not encourage evening wandering. The hotel was surprisingly good...the bar downstairs was excellent with good food and good people and good beer. The room was pleasing especially with a little patio..the washroom was clean and well kept up. the carpet needs replacing. but overall clean and price was good for a downtown hotel...great location

Sheets/pillow covers weren't cleaned or changed each night. Hotel is what you would expect for the price. If cleanliness and room size matter to you, look elsewhere.

room was clean and quite confortable but small. The hotel was near a subway but in front of huge appartment buildings. About the hotel services, the breakfast was more than basic. Good hotel to spend a night but do not expect more.

first impression was not good with the elevator being so dirty with drips of dirt all over and enough finger prints to drive a detetive crazy. Then to go to my room and see so many dust bunny trails along the baseboards was a treat to say the least. This hotel was good. It's close to downtown/metro station/market. The breakfast was included in our package. The hotel is not so new and modern, it is old, but not so bad. It was quiet and we had everything that we needed. Yes, I could recommend this hotel to my friends.

We were disappointed with the upkeep of the hotel: broken sofa beds; no extra beds available; bedroom very dark (just had 2 tiny night lamps available); safety deposit box not working; paid for 3 people but the room was only prepared for 2; we had to ask for an extra bedding; extra towel set, etc.

Exceeded my expectations considering the low rate paid. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely, and the place was quite clean. Yes, we were told to be cautious at night because of the location, but we had NO issues whatsoever, and Bloor street is just around the corner!

This hotel is in a great location and doesn't charge you a bomb for it. The subway station is two blocks away, which makes it very convenient to get to & from the airport and also visit other places in Toronto accessible by subway. This hotel is about a kilometer from Yonge st., which seems to be the heart of downtown Toronto. Plenty of places to eat […] and see once you hit Yonge. The room was clean, housekeeping was prompt and service courteous. However, starting from the elevator, everything is small. If you are generously built, you will have a hard time getting into the elevator, let alone use the bathroom. The place can be a tight fit. I was here on a business trip and wanted an affordable place close to downtown and this one fit my bill since I used it only to get some sleep & get a shower in the morning. If you can deal with a slightly cramped bathroom and are looking for a place to sleep and shower, this affordable place is a great deal. Skaityti daugiau

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They made us feel at home, however the overall condition of the hotel was merely average. There was never any soap in the main floor, off the lobby restroom, even after I spoke to the front desk clerk. The breakfast provided was adequate and as much as you want. The hotel is very close to the subway and […] within a reasonable cab fare to right downtown. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would likely stay there again for the convenience and cost. There is a Shopper's drugmart right across from the hotel and Rob's No Frills grocery half a block south. Good location, very basic hotel but good for the price you pay, has a nice restaurant and bar attached, nice staff overall, would be nice if they had a toaster available for the free breakfast they offer and they need more seats for breakfast.

A decent pick if ur looking for something cheap. No wifi in the rooms was a negative for me. The hotel bar and restaurant were pretty decent though. The best thing about this hotel is the location, just a few minutes to a wide selection of pubs and clubs.

I was really disappointed. We booked the room on line and recieved confirmation. The day before we were to arrive I contacted Isabella to re-confirm we had booked a suite. I was told yes a suite was reserved in our name. When we arrived, we were told we were downgraded to a standard room and there was nothing they could do. The room we were put in was […] very dark, was over the bar and patio and the only window was up high over the bed so were were unable to see a thing. The vent by the door banged all night along with the music, people laughing and talking and finally at 3:30 a.m. the noise stopped. By this time we were beside ourselves, we just gathered our belongings and left. The staff were rude when we questioned them, did not even offer to make things better for us The place was dirty, very dated (and not in a good antique way) and was nothing at all what it says it is. The room was the size of a large walk in closet. The tiny mini fridge leaked and there was a giant water stain on the carpet. The hotel doesn't offer fitted sheets so you are sleeping directly on the 24 year old mattress that the springs are popping on by the middle of the night. The full bed itself was so short that anyone over 5'7 would have to sleep […] with their feet hanging over the bottom of the bed. The bathroom door doesn't open completely.... maybe 3/4ths as there is a permanent door stop in the middle of the floor. This is clearly a hazard when you are getting out of the tiny shower or sitting at the toilet. The elevator is hardly big enough to fit two people...getting your luggage up is a challenge. The tv in the room was very small and from the 90s. The picture was awful and the cable connect kept failing. The indoor hallways are not air conditioned so the long wait for the elevator is quite humid. The restaurant; Gabby's that is located below the hotel, has AWFUL service and terrible food. Clean, simple room. Very nice free breakfast. Enjoyed the free wi-fi. Only complaint is parking accomodations are in a creepy underground public lot that is way overpriced for the quality (dark and damp with minimal outside access)
