Within 5 minute walk of Osaka and Umeda stations. A lot of restaurants within ~15 minutes or less. Great value compared to prices of area hotels.

We were on a high floor with a great view. Other than the Aeon plaza, about 10 minutes walk, there wasn't much else to see within walking distance, but we chose this hotel because of our flight the following day. The free airport shuttle was a good service, though at restricted times. Overall we noticed during our time travelling in Japan that all hotels […] are very strict about check-in time starting at 3pm and not a minute before. Close to Osaka station and the bus terminal. It's pity we found the Starbucks behind the hotel just after we checked out! We will definitely stay with them next time!

The location was really good and you could walk quickly to the train station and restaurants. Also a few good entertainment areas around the station. The hotel was a more classic style but in new condition, had all the extras to make the room nice like a air purifier and humidifier.

The hotel is a bit outdated and the room is quite tight but very clean. Front desk staff don't seem to know much english and power plug converter isn't available for loan like all the other hotels i've been to, however the hotel location is super convenient. Only a short walk to the Umeda subway station, shops and food places. Other train stations are […] also easily accessible by foot. Great location - only a couple of minutes from Osaka Station, near shops and restaurants. The hotel is a bit old and our room was small. But, it's not a bad choice if you want to be close to public transport and amenities.

Stylish, comfortable room with adequate space for Japan. Would definitely stay again especially since price was reasonable for this level of hotel. Area has French pastry shops (great for breakfast).Level of English of the staff not very good so had to figure out logisitics of touring by ourselves.

Nice, older hotel. Excellent French restaurant, resaonable for lunch. Very convenient to train station once you find the hotel. Staff have limited English skills.

The room was very cozy and clean and I loved it, it's kind of European style but I enjoyed it. I only think some people might not like the quaint style and walls in our room didn't have spanking new paint but everything was really clean and organized. The staff was wonderful, really friendly and helpful and I had a fantastic time there! Oh, the fridge […] was great as well, it was ours to use-they included some water but you could take it out and fill it with your own items...no charge for removing items like in some hotels. Lovely! The room size is reasonable and the staff can speak relatively good English. Location is a 7mins walk from jr . Only issue is the condition of the room is a bit old.

This is a quirky hotel, seems to be mostly catering to local wedding trade. It is made like a European castle, complete with a stone wedding chapel in a atrium on the 8th (!) floor. Staff has little English, pricing policy seems quite variable. There are few conveniences for business travelers and the closest are in JR Osaka train station a few blocks […] away. Western breakfast is available, but not stellar and, of course, overpriced. There is a Starbucks 50m. away across a plaza, though they do not open very early. Better choices in the area for a Western business person are the Hilton or Ritz Carlton, though more expensive. In a similar price range is the Hotel Vista Premio Dojima. I had to stop at Osaka to go to a consulate on the way back from an overseas trip and had a lot of work to do on the Internet. I chose the room just for its comfort and free Internet access but it didn't work at all (yes, I used the LAN cable). The staff person was ice-cold when I tried to explain it and didn't believe I hadn't used the LAN cable. Yes, […] I used the LAN cable! I was devastated. The inconvenience this caused me can't even be fathomed. Not one apology from the staff. Unbelievable. I would stay here again though, as it is a charming hotel otherwise. Good location. Everything was very clean. Old world europe feel so if you don't want that in Japan don't go. Excellent location. Small rooms unless your rich. The price was decent enough though.

This hotel is within walking distance of Osaka Station; however, you need to have a map to find it because it is not on a main street. My smart phone's GPS was not precise enough to guide me from the station to the hotel and, when I called the hotel, they had difficulty giving me directions. So either locate it on a detailed map or take a taxi! As others […] have noted, the rooms are quite small, similar to a cruise ship cabin, but mine was clean and had a nice bathroom. My room overlooked the train tracks, which was disappointing, and I thought it would lead to a noise problem at night, but the thick shutters on the windows worked well to keep the sound out. The buffet breakfast was expansive (and a bit expensive) with a big variety of Japanese and Western food that was of good quality. I would recommend this hotel, but try to negotiate for a larger room, which I found out from a Japanese colleague you can do, but this was after I had already checked in. Skaityti daugiau

We stayed 6 days and fehlt very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and provided even extra support. It's a rare case to find a hotel those days, where you can open the windows, here you have it! In the basement there is a convenient store that's more then useful for out of time snacks. The computer rental in the house is uncomplicated and provides […] a fast computer, 10$ for 24 hours only. Our experience is great. The staff is very helpful, especially a young man named Takada. He is very fluent in English, gave us help with setting up our Internet access and has great humor. We would stay there again.

Everything about this hotel was excellent--it was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Only two small problems: 1) we stayed in a 3-person room which we booked online with hotels.com, and the room we received was clearly a two person room (two twin beds) with an additional bed crammed into the otherwise spacious (for Japan standards) room. The room itself […] was gorgeously decorated and clean, but we had hoped that booking a 3-person room would mean a slightly larger-than-normal room. 2) the location was great, very close to the main Osaka train station, but like everything in Japanese cities, you must walk. We confirmed the location with the help of an online map of course, but it was a bit of a walk from the station out the Sakurabashi Exit and down a long corridor of shops from there. No problem for Japanese, but some members of our party were not accustomed to the walking, especially with luggage. Taking a taxi was an option, but seemed a waste considering the short distance (for taxis) and expensive cost. The small wedding chapel in an open-air courtyard on the 6th floor (rooms were located above that with windows facing the courtyard) was beautiful and we even randomly saw a wedding party on the weekend. Steps away from subway and less than 5 min. from JR station. Room 1331 was tight for a family of 4, but overall a good place to lay one's head. Nicely decorated in French style.

Quite nice hotel, the location is near to the umeda station, easy transfer and shopping. Room space is not so big, but still ok.

Older style hotel; funky elevator. Very convenient to Sakurabashi gate of Umeda Station and Herbis Bus station.

You should visit this hotel if you like old style (western) hotel. There is a church on the 8/F and we love it.

We (family of 4) stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. The triple room was small but sufficient and comfortable, bathroom clean and bigger than some other hotels we've stayed in in Japan, with all amenities well-stocked. About 10 minutes' walk from Osaka station, and convenience stores, a small supermarket, and many dining choices nearby. It's next to […] a hospital but the neighbourhood is fairly quiet. The only grouse is that the lifts (quaint, old-fashioned types) are slow in coming, especially when there are events going on in the hotel (a frequent occurrence while we stayed there). There's an airport limousine (bus) that you can take from the airport that takes about 40 minutes. It drops you at Hotel Herbis, which is about a block and a half away from the Hotel Monterey. The service is great. The room is a tiny bit small and the bed's a hard, but nothing to really complain about because the service is great and the location is […] fantastic. Vey comfortable hotel within easy walk from JR Osaka station. Close to restaurants and convenience stores. Decor is interestingly oldfashioned and luxurious for a business hotel. Although close to JR station and the railway line there was no problem with noise provided we kept the windows closed. A hotel with ease of airport transfer and ease of access to rail and subway facilities. Plus, shopping district within Umeda area. One area of improvement is the lacking of free Wifi access at lobby. Compare to many hotel I have stayed in Kansai area, free Wifi at lobby is avail for free to hotel guests.

Hotel is no complaint, but the train station beside the hotel is a nuisance. Its starts every morning at 5 am, and there it goes the noise till midnight. If u are light sleeper, no no for this hotel.

I have stayed at the Monterey before and remember it much more fondly than my experience this time. Perhaps because I booked a single or a discounted rate, I got a room that was barely adequate. The service seemed perfunctory. I did not get a good feel this time and will not return.
