We were managing our expectations of this hotel as prior reviews were a bit mixed, but it seemed like the best option for poolside relaxation towards the luxury end of what is available in Tobago, without paying too much. We were very pleasantly surprised. On arrival the view through the reception to the pool and sea is stunning. It's very quiet and […] generally there were only a few people around the pool. The beach is lovely, smooth sand and clear waters and not too choppy, despite being on the Atlantic side of the island (we'd found waves much bigger on the other side of the island). The beach benefits from some dappled, leafy shade in the morning. The room was spot on, big comfy bed, thankfully devoid of mosquitoes following our stay in the rainforest. Cafe Havana was surprisingly good with a varied breakfast each day and we had dinner there more than once. One might expect the restaurant linked to the hotel to be awful but it was really quite nice - Pina Coladas were the best ever! Staff were nice, although we were a bit disappointed to have no flexibility on late checkout despite hanging by the pool all day and seeing nobody arrive in the room by 5pm and nobody cleaning the room for hours after we had checked out! Little things like an extra hour to dip in the pool and change in your own room afterwards can make the difference. However they redeemed themselves by letting us use a room to change and shower before our flight. All considered, would highly recommend! Skaityti daugiau

Bacolet Beach seemed like it would be perfect for me on paper, but it just did not live up to expectations in reality. I usually love boutique hotels that offer value in comparisons with their larger counterparts, but the value just was not there. Internet access was free, but I was unable to get the signal in my room which was on the first floor and […] maybe 4 rooms away from the lobby. I arrived late in the evening, and early the next morning (say 5:45am) I was unable to get the access code from the security. I was told reception would arrive at 8am. In the Caribbean that is the start of the office work day! It was only by chance that around 7am a cleaner in the lobby was able to give me the passcode. Breakfast was good, with good variety but late for business travellers (7:30am sometimes later). Minibar was overpriced, local phone calls were close to US$1 a minute and there was a close to US$4 charge added when meals were charged to your room. The room was okay, welcoming with flowers all over, a spacious bathroom with a shower, a large balcony with a nice view and the room was airconditioned. The worst thing about the room was the bed! The four poster kingsize bed looked nice but was soooo uncomfortable. For all the charges, the owners could spend for a proper mattress. The main reason a business traveller needs a room is for sleeping. There was no gift shop, so for extra toiletries, I had to drive into the capital town of Scarborough. We were very pleased with the property. It offered great value, was comfortable and included a great breakfast. The only downside was that it appeares that the included wi-fi was available everywhere but in our room (10), it was even available at the beach!

This hotel was really top notch. The grounds were beautiful, the beach nice, and the restaurant was superb. Many of the guests from the surrounding hotels came for dinner.

Wonderful location, beautiful view, clean room, congenial staff, good restaurant next door. Good value for money. Spacious bathroom but plumbing needs maintenance! LOL Beautiful 4-poster bed and cosy pool and deck. Definitely a relaxing stay that I recommend warmly.

We were enticed by the stunning entrance to the hotel. One suggestion would be to post a sign 500 feet before the drive to warn tourists of the blind driveway ahead. Upon check-in, the receptionist should clarify that the Havanna Cafe is part of their complex, as is the Blue Moon across the street. If complimantary breakfast is included, that should […] also be noted for the guest. When accompanied to our room, the display of fresh flower petals was an amazing surprise. Although our room was very comfortable, some adjustments should be made. A waste basket in the bedroom area would be needed, and a shower tower in the shower would help guests with their necessary toiletries. We stayed in room # 21 and there was a distinctive unpleasant odor coming from the shower drain. There must be a "backflow" problem, and suggest that it be looked into. The odor was evident each time we entered the room and spoiled the ambiance. (Maybe adding bleach to the drain would be a temporary fix.) The toilet also had visible stains and that also needs to be addressed. A binder with menus from local restaurants located at the main desk in the lobby would be an added benefit. Since rental cars are available on site, specific directions should be availalbe for each restaurant so that a guest would feel comfortable driving the roads to have a meal. I booked this hotel in tobago with the intension of statying in a 4 star hotel... to my great disapointment, the location of the hotel (which is located at the opposite side of the island where all the tourist attractions are) was difficult to locate. The appearance in the lobby was very dirty and the furniture looked worn out. my check in time was […] scheduled for 2pm. i arrived at 3pm and was informed that i couldnt check in due to a late check out by the previous guest. i suggested another room of equal or better standard but was told that i had to wait for my room to be ready. For the price you pay. I expected more . Better facilities and better service. If you stay in a place for two weeks the hotel could have done something special. The food was Ok but not to eat the same for two weeks. The stairs to the beach need some refurbishing.

The concept is great -- small boutique hotel with a small beach in a quaint "off the beaten track" area within Tobago. However, rooms were not very clean and needed to be painted. The bathroom did not have a real door that closed and it was very awkward to use the toilet. The hair in the shower drain was there for days until i cleaned it out. Water […] pressure was terrible, even in the sink. Usage of florescent lighting in rooms also made the rooms look much more dirty. The beach and walk down stairs to the beach was not well maintained (overgrown trees, lots of leaves on sand) and part of the beach seemed to be used as storage for old furniture. The small beach, which I thought was cute has high tide in the middle of the day, so your chair is literally in the water. The water is wonderful and the sand super soft in the location. My party and I had a fantastic time at this hotel. It was our first time to Tobago so we really did A LOT of research on hotels, read a lot of reviews before deciding on Bacolet Beach Hotel. I am so glad we did! The hotel itself is very lovely and quiet which we really liked. There was never more then 4 people around the pool at the same time. The beach […] area was a little far, down a lot of steps but once you got down there it was beautiful and felt like you were on your own private beach, We stayed in the Bay De Lux rooms. The bed did take up a lot of the room but this didn't really bother us much, it is a beautiful bed and we weren't in the room all that often anyways. The service at the hotel was also great. Everyone from the front desk staff to the room cleaners were all very pleasent. It was evident that their concern was our comfort and happiness at their hotel. I was concerned about a few things after booking so I had emailed them a few times, all my emails were returned very quickly and pleasantly answering all my questions. They even put a nice flower arrangement in my moms room after I mentioned in one of my emails that it was her birthday. We didn't do the dinner package at the hotel but now wish we had. Tobago is a small island so there isn't a lot in the ways of restaurants and what there is, is in the same price rance as Cafe Havana, so next time we would do that differently. We did have the breakfast every morning and it was very good. If your looking for the hustle and bustle of a resort hotel this one is not for you but if your looking to relax and enjoy your surroundings I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Cafe Havana is a great restaurant that is part of the hotel. Also, the location near Scarborough and right on the beach is very nice. We would definitely come back if we can.

Very comfortable hotel. After a weeks sail around T obago a relaxing way to get our land legs back. The restaurant next door was OK nothing 5*.And the main action was a1/2 hour taxi ride from the hotel. But if you want to just chill in nice surroundings I recommend this hotel

My husband and I stayed at Bacolet Beach Club for a few days in August, not knowing what to expect. We picked this hotel based on the website images and reviews, and it definitely met our expectations! The images don't lie; the decor of the rooms and view of the ocean is as beautiful as advertised. The customer service was excellent, compared to the […] kind of service you might get in other Tobago hotels, and we had a fabulous time on the private beach. The restaruant food was excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised at the awesome variety of food provided at the breakfast buffet. The only thing I would say that could be a negative is that the hotel isn't walking distance to any other places to eat, and unless you are willing to rent a vehicle and drive around the town (they rent cars out at the hotel) you are limited to eating at the hotel, which could become costly. (There is a very small fridge in the room but it serves as a mini bar so you can't fill it with your own food). A great place to eat in downtown scarborough is the Jerk restaurant (more like a cafe) which has tasty caribbean food at great prices. There is also a Catholic Church about a 20 min. walk from the hotel, and the Sunday service is something special! Bacolet Beach Club is a wonderful place to stay! The Expedia website was very misleading, and the place was not exactly how Expedia portrayed it. The hotel was overpriced for what it was. There were no coffee/tea makers in the rooms - we had to ask for them. The sandy beach was dirty looking and on some days had loads of seaweed which had not been cleared. The description of the 'private' bay with […] it's turquoise waters, was actually a small, relatively secluded beach, which non-residents had access to via a separate set of wooden stairs down to the beach. A group of noisy teenagers appeared one day and disturbed the peace, and the water was not exactly turquoise, more like a dark grey/green. The 'romantic small bridge' leading to the restaurant was not romantic in the least, but a slippery (when wet) bridge that needed painting, and was not lit at night. All in all it was very disappointing, and not what we had imagined based on the information on your website. The staff were friendly, and we were upgraded due to a wedding going on. Our initial room was an upgrade (although we had not been told this when we checked in) but was very noisy and had a very bad musty smell. This hotel is outside a town and offers a seclusion that was very welcome for us on this trip. We took a local driver to the events that we chose to do and when our day was done we lounged by the pool, sat in the heat on our balcony, ate supper at a very acceptable restaurant on the property and hardly even noticed the TV. The room was ultra modern […] and had everything we could want -- canopy bed, A/C, tiled floors and modern shower/bathroom etc. We did not go into the town for shopping or browsing because we only had a weekend there but the town is reachable walking although a taxi is best on the narrow winding roads. Very nice hotel. The only drawback is that the private beach is accessed by a lot of stairs which are fine going down but a challenge walking back up -- not for those who have mobility issues. We've just returned from a two-week stay and had a fantastic time. The hotel staff were so friendly and the front desk was always willing to assist no matter what the request. The location of the hotel is on the side of a cliff so the sunsets over the Atlantic were beautiful.

There will be a lot of gushing in the review, so you have been warned. My stay at the Bacolet Beach Club was a delight from beginning to end. It started with the pleasant young woman at the front desk. I was upgraded to a Jr. Penthouse and my room was gorgeous. There were flowers scattered all over, just like in the pictures online! There was a huge […] balcony attached to my room and I had a spectacular view. After freshening up, I went exploring and the grounds of the hotel were stunning, The property goes all the way down to the ocean and the grounds have been planned to use every inch of space very well. I think that the one thing that makes the BBC so unique and wonderful is the design. Whoever designed the hotel did an excellent job, because he/she created a real oasis mixing classic Caribbean themes with contemporary features. The hotel isn't just functional but also aesthetically pleasing. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Alma at the front desk was a standout (she helped me through some check-out issues). The restaurant attached to the BBC is the Cafe Havana and it is top-notch as well. If I had any quibbles it would be that they need to hire more local chefs to get a true Caribbean flavour to the food. All in all, I am very happy I discovered the BBC and will be returning often. Vi hade två mycket härliga veckor på Bacolet. Barnfamiljer och eller funktionshindrade bör dock välja något annat, bla annat beroende på nivåskillnaderna. 65 trappsteg ner till den jättefina stranden (ja, jag räknade). Hotellet bjuder inte på några särskilda aktiviteter, här råder det lugn och ro. Man går in till Scarborough på en kvart. Det finns inget […] nattliv i Scarborough så är man ute efter det ta så blir det bil/taxi till Crown Point (ca 100 kr enkel resa). Det skall dock tilläggas att det finns intemycket till nattliv på Tobago överhuvudtaget. Hotellets restaurang har kanongod mat. Är man här ett par veckor kan det bli tjatigt med maten då det inte finns några alternativ, förutom ett annat hotell. Vi hyrde bil av hotellet och upptäckte Tobago (detta rekommenderas starkt). Hotellets personal är trevlig och hjälpsam. Rummen är fräscha och samtliga har havsutsikt. Vi bodde en natt på Half Blue Moon på andra sidan gatan, samma ägare. Bacolet är fräschare (nyare) men vi tyckte nog att Half Blue Moon var mysigare. Med det jag vet nu så skulle jag kanske dela upp våra två veckor och lägga en vecka på exvis Barbados. Hotellet er udemærket og maden rigtig god, men det er dyrt at spise der hver eneste dag. Musikken er meget høj og det var lidt anstrengende nogle aftener - men mest hvis det ikke var vores musiksmag :0) Morgenmaden er også udemærket, men der var stort set ingen variationer i udvalget og det var lidt kedeligt 14 dage i træk.
