Great distance away from the city centre, although there was no mention that around the hotel there are many 'Thai massage parlours' and a 'homosexual night club'. The hotel itself was great, couldn't fault the room, and the breakfast each morning was very good. Overall a very good hotel

this hotel was very clean, fairily close to the airport. staff was helpful and breakfast was delicious.

Overall a good hotel for the price we paid. We thought we were getting a family room, but we got a small room with a sofa bed squeezed in. That said, breakfast was good and the staff were freindly.

Good breakfast buffet, and you have lots of eating and shopping places in walking distance from the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

We were just passing through Berlin on our way home from the alpes. This was a pleasant hotel with easy basement parking, very good! The Hotel had high standard and was very modern and fresh.

Hotel is located in a quiet area with restaurants & shops close by. A short walk to the neares U bahn station (Wittenberg Platz) & the zoo/Tiergarten. We walked to Potsdamer Platz and surrounding areas in the morning(40-50 mins) and took the U or S Bahn back to the hotel in the evening. Hotel was fine for a city break and the staff are freindly and […] helpful. We had a sofa bed in our room which left the room a bit cramped, but otherwise the room was fine and the bed comfy. Breakfast is the usual, continental, help yourself but there a good selection and you can eat as much as you like. The major shopping street of Kurfurstendamm is also only 10 mins walk away. The service and room/bathroom cleanliness were impeccable. I think this hotel is great for short (2-3 days) business stays. Breakfast is also provided. However, this might not be the best hotel for a family-type vacation as the room (and especially closet space) is kind of small for more than 1 person/longer stays.

HOTEL WAS CLOSE TO EVERTHING...SHOPPING, RESTAURANTS, THE ZOO...THE TOURS...I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN..NICE STAFF....GREAT MORNING BUFFET....

This is a good hotel.. The location is decent and the price is reasonable. The breakfast service was as good as any in the US. However, the rooms are rather small. If you have large suitcases, there is barely room to between the end of the beds and the wall to get around.

Free breakfast was very good. Room a bit small but newly furnished, very clean, quiet and the desk staff more than a little helpful.

Close to the "metro" and the nice 100-bus.

I have stayed in many many Holiday Inns. When attending DIN this hotel was convenient, clean and excellent value for money. The staff were the best, smiles and friendly - happy to help - A credit to HI.

we were very happy with the hotel, staff were friendly and willing to help with any requirements. the room was very clean and comfortable and the shower and toilet facilities were excellent, really clean. across the road there was the bus stop 100 which will bring you to alot of the tourist sites and not too far from the Zoologischer Garten railway […] station. very good, had a brilliant time and having a nice place to stay, that didn't blow our budget really helped. I had a pleasant stay in holiday Inn. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodation was brilliant. Infact any germans I came across were wonderful. I had a great time in Berlin.

Never expected this hotel is so great. Room is clean and with ECO features. Interior is modern and cozy. Breakfast was good and the most importantly the staffs are very pleasant.

was looking for an affordable hotel for three days in Berlin that had good access to shopping and inner city transportation. The Holiday Inn Express fit the bill. It is fairly basic as far as hotels go, but the staff is top notch, friendly and helpful. Internet, while not free, is cheap. Major shopping on KeDam, the Zoo and Aquarium, and great restaurants […] are just a few minutes walk away. Importantly, the famous Bus100 stops right across the street and there is a U station five minutes walk away. So you can navigate swiftly and easy to anywhere in the inner city. Ideal position, comfortable and good eating /drinking areas. Easy access to all transport. All staff very helpful and prepared to accomodate all our requests (sourcing venues etc..)

The hotel was quite new - beds very comfortable, nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Close to bus line so great access to city sights. Staff was very helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpful in sugesting how to get to places and recommended local resturants. Hotel location was good being close to good shopping areas, Tiergarden, Zoo and eating places. Room was clean and comfortable.

We have stayed at this hotel before so knew what to expect. The only problem on check-in was that our room stank of smoke - in a no-smoking hotel! The duty manager quickly moved us to a new room. The room was adequate for a short stay and the breakfasts were OK and filling - just make sure you get to breakfast before about 8.30 to avoid delays and […] queues. The hotel is well situated and the 100 bus passes the door. It is about 10 minutes easy walk to the nearest underground station at Wittenbergplatz. The reception staff were helpful and most spoke good English. Not the cheapest of places and our stay cost about 50% more in September than in March. The hotel was fine, no great breakfast, but near the city center, bus and easy to reach the airport.

This is a great hotel if you're visiting as a tourist in Berlin. It's clean, the staff was helpful, a comp breakfast in the morning and it was located about 3 blocks from a subway station and several restauants. About a 10 minute walk down the street is a major shopping street, the zoo; access to hop-on/hop-off bus tours and plenty of restauants.

Very pleased with the hotel. Our rooms were ready as we specified, i.e. twin and triple. The rooms, lobby etc were clean. Excellent room rate which included breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided us with an easy-to-read map and detailed directions include bus fare. The room was small. After the sofa bed was open (since we had 3 people), it was hard to move around. The bathroom was clean. Breakfast menu was standard with a good selection of bread. However, there was no hot food such as scrambled […] eggs. The hotel location was convenient with a bus stop, U-bahn, and a market all within a couple of minutes' walk. The hotel was in a convenient location, only about a 10 minute walk from the Zoological train station. Walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was good, lots of variety to cover all tastes. Room was clean and comfortable, we were there in the hottest time of the year and appreciated the AC. Some hotels do not have AC because of the mild climate in Berlin.

On the legendary 100 Bus route and only 2 years old - fantastic value for the money and a great place to stay.

I will stay in this hotel all time when I go to Berlin!!!

Great location. Good service, clean and comfortable room.bathroom (only shower) Great free breakfast. Close to metro and many good sights. The advertised 'free' internet is not 'free' but the charge is minimal (EU 5 / 24h total use, enough for 3 - days stay) I'll stay there again anytime.

Myself and my Mam stayed here on a girly get away for six days (we're form Ireland). I could not find fault with this hotel at all. The location was perfect - only a few hundred metres walk to the Berlin Zoo and Zoologischer Garten S/U Bahn station, which provided transport to all the major sites and also an express train to Schonefeld Airport. The […] complimentary continental breakfast was lovely, so much choice and was available until 10:30. The rooms we had were very comfortable, beds changed regulary, bathroom was really cool - dove handwash provided, very clean and our PJs were folded on the bed every day! There were a few English language channels - CNN, CNBC, MTV which was nice. I had to do some work while I was there and it only cost €5 for 24 hours of high speed wifi. Every time you are finished with your laptop you could disconnect the internet and the clock would stop on your wifi, which meant the 24 hours I paid for lasted for the whole 6 days I spent there! The room was also very quiet as they had thick sound proof windows which meant sleeping was not a problem. There are plenty of restaurants, shops ect within a few hundred metres of the Holiday Inn. We absolutely loved this hotel. Plus points - very centrally located (shopping centres, centre squares, restaurants, local transport, etc). Very clean & quiet area. On our last morning, we had to leave very early, & they had the buffet opened up for us! Lovely way to end our stay there. The only problem we had was the size of the room - we had taken a double room with an extra bed for a child - and it was a squeeze. We asked for a change of rooms to a bigger one, but they said that all the rooms were the same size. We barely had place to keep our luggage, & were jumping over the beds to move around. Also, would be nice to have more cupboard or shelf space in the rooms. We had read a lot about a gay bar next to the hotel. However, it was completely discreet, so we barely noticed it as we passed it several times a day, on our way in & out of the hotel. So no issues on that score. This Hotel is perfectly situated . Close to shops , bars restaurants and the Zoo station rail and underground links. We found it worthwhile to walk to the Brandenburg gate via the victory column as there is plenty of historic sites on the way. Godt hotel som overnatning og fin morgenmad. Tæt på zoo og shopping. OBS: kingsizeseng er 3/4 seng. Meget veligt og hjælpsomt personale.

Bereits zum zweiten Mal für einige Tage im Hotel gewesen, jederzeit wieder. Gute Lage, Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Zimmer angenehm, sehr gutes Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis. Straßenseitige Zimmer etwas lauter, aber nur bei geöffnetem Fenster.

Vi var i Berlin 21-23 april 2012. Rommet var rent og forholdsvis stort. Rom mot bakgård, så stille og rolig. Frokosten var helt grei, men manglet varm mat som egg og bacon.
