Charming clean rooms with good sound insulation; no noise from adjacent rooms. Comfy beds with clean linens. Close to all, great location on Monterey St. Friendly service. Stopped in again for another night on the return trip from Santa Rosa. Best value in town, a hidden gem!

I had a special request to leave my bike at the hotel for the rest of the day after I had checked out. The owner was very courteous and let me store it in the garage. I think a lot of hotels would have made an issue for fear of being liable had it been stolen. Thanks again Los Padres!

It was acceptable, but I am glad my wife couldn't come along this time. I would still be hearing about it. The room was musty, the furniture old and too used. For the price I expected more. The neighborhood was nice.

Love the location the room really is not worth the price when you have others so close and cheaper with more Hotel amenities. Room was small out dated TV and not even a coffee maker, even MOTEL 6 has a coffee maker. The staff was nice and very respectful, so again for the money no not it.

It was awful... Horrible conditions of the Hotel. They need a lot of upgrades & improvements. It was worth a lot less than we paid...Broken furnitures, bad heating and dirty room, etc.

Owners were helpful, but there was a lot of gross mildew and mold on the inside of the shower curtain and the maid said they did not allow her enough time to clean properly. However, the owners of the hotel went out of their way to help me with notifying Expedia. I may give them another try just because they were nice. although the location was convenient for us, and we liked being able to park close to our room, our first indication that things might be sketchy were the filthy pieces of carpet that were cut into rectangles and used as door matts. the fake plants and railings were coated with thick dirt/dust, as were some of the things in the room. the curtains were […] icky/dingy and didn't quite cover the windows. we did have a couple of problems with the sink, etc. that they attended to quickly, but who even needs those problems when staying somewhere for 2 nights? shower walls were not tiled, but painted, and the paint was peeling. presumably, to save on electrical bills, only half of the sockets had light bulbs in them....you get the picture....keep looking--there are plenty of other motels in the area!!! We arrived late and were scolded for not calling ahead–nobody told us. I felt bad for waking up the staff and really would have called, but I didn't think it would be an issue as I've never had this issue in my life. I suppose there's a first for everything.... Central location the only redeeming quality, parking realy tight. The location appears to be like converted apartments into, motel rooms. Great if you looking for a place to flop out at, little or no ammenities

Room not very clean. Hot, no A/C. Two fans in room but both very dusty. Housekeeper left my door ajar one day and turned off the (dusty) ceiling fan I left on to try and make room temp comfortable.

It's an old school room which was fine. Friendly staff, however I gave Tia low rating due to their air conditioning not working. It was 85 degrees inside and above, so hot.

First room, stained carpet and peeling paint in shower. Moved to better room but no fridge in this one, bedside lamp shorted out, bathroom sink faucet top fell off, clock didn't work. Will not return.

Good location and close to downtown. Room had a musty smell. Stains on the chair so I didn't use it. I was passing through so I just needed a place to crash for the night. It was OK in that sense, but not a place I would take my wife to relax.

This is a good 2-star hotel, with a friendly and helpful staff. The room was fine for a 2*, and (despite a review to the contrary) the wireless internet worked just fine. Perhaps a touch pricey when compared to other 2*s on the Monterey strip, that offer breakfast and/or a bathtub.

Shotty remodel work. We stayed on the ground floor. It was a large rm but lights didn't work and questionable remodeling in the bath. Only worth a cheap price. Also there's no breakfast.

No working internet, no thermostat (just an ancient radiator), no shelves in bathroom (used toilet tank lid for toothpaste, etc.), no lamps, carpet stained and crunchy, tiny shower, loose plumbing fixtures and doorknob, no coffee pot, one thin blanket on bed (and spare blankets were dusty). A pretty picture on the outside, but don't look to close. The room was shabby, the carpet was utterly disgusting. It was filthy and had not been cleaned in months. The rest of the room was pretty clean, but very, very worn. There was no light beside the bed to read. The curtain drug the floor and was a tripping hazard. The rooms are not updated, but comfortable. These rooms are not the pampered traveler. If you don't mind rustic, outdated, and prefer inexpensive, this place is great. Great location.

A place to crash...not much else good to say about it. Carpet in room was soiled. Tiny TV could barely be seen from beds. Plastic flowers on walls that were painted a variety of non-harmonious colors. Pretty tacky overall.

The location is perfect. It was in walking distance of down town SLO, right down the street from the famous Splash Cafe (try their clam chowder!) and close to other great restaurants and shops. The Los Padres Inn is old, small and quaint, which adds to the experinece of the area. Enjoyed my stay and, if in the area, will return.

Although the motel was in a fairly good location, there were newer accomodations available within blocks. There was a motor running beneath my room the entire night. The room was clean and everything worked, but it seemed to be on the verge of total decay. It would be nice to have morning coffee in the lobby.

We stayed two nights here; the hotel was very clean and I appreciated that it had a microwave and refrig in the room. It was quiet and the woman that checked us in was very nice.

The location is good, close to SLO downtown. Overall, it's okay, but if it's below 50°F outside, forget it they don't have a decent heater, so the room gets really cold !! The bathroom looks like 30 yeats old, but we could shower and got hot water.

This hotel is a serious dump. Old matresses in the parking lot, banged up furniture, old nasty carpet, horrible bathroom with a tiny shower you could barely move in. We didn't even stay there on night #2 it was so gross, even though we paid money for it.

What a fantastic stay at Los Padres. This was my second stay in in 21 months. Friday night I was awoken by a noisy drunk neighbor. The person settled down but the next morning was rude to the owners so he was sent packing. Several resturants nearby including Spaslh Cafe which has awesome clam chowder and succulent scallops. Very close to downtown shopping. […] A nice walk in good weather, a short inexpensive cab ride, or a nice cool rickshaw ride. Some of the rooms have the appearance of being it's own seperate cabin. Small, family run hotel near downtown SLO. Very nice and helpful managers. Rooms are a bit tight, we had one with two queens, since we were traveling with a toddler. I did feel the cleanliness of the room was a little questionable -- dusty furniture and dirty feeling carpet.

This is an older hotel that has been maintained to a respectable standard, however I must emphasize old in that things break and furniture and modern conveniences are sparse or break down. The surrounding area is probably more suited to the young, adventurous, risk-taking crowd where trading in security and convenience for affordability is preferred. All […] in all, I found the owners to be polite and respectable. I cannot fairly criticize a small business that is probably struggling to keep afloat in this harsh economy. Decent for the price. within walking distance of the downtown area. No air conditioning, but we went in the middle of summer and it's fine, gets cold outside at night so not at all warm in the room. biggest con would be continental breakfast was almost nonexistent. (only one, not one type, but one muffin)

My daughter is going to school in LA, and SLO is a fun half-way location for us to meet. We wanted to spend our money on shopping and restaurants rather than an expensive motel so we picked Los Padres Inn as it had fairly good reviews for the price. It is a cute old place and the bathrooms have been redone although the doors weren't in very good shape […] and all were very squeaky. The pillows were awful, the beds ok, not great, the TV was very small but the room was very clean. I always take wipes to use in motels and after a wipe-down the wipe was still clean. The management was nice. The breakfast was packaged muffins and scones but they were from a SLO bakery and were ok but not really enough. There was a frig and microwave in the room even though the website said they were available on request. We were there a Wednesday and Thursday night and even though it wasn't a weekend there were some very noisy guests both nights. The walls are very thin. I have had this problem with noisy guests in SLO before at other motels...maybe because of Cal Poly? We have stayed at about 6 other motels on Monterey and I really like the location. This one is a bit closer to town so the walk back isn't as far as some of the others we have stayed at. I would recommend this motel is you really want to save money and aren't going to be spending a lot of time in your room. Bring your own pillow! Skaityti daugiau

Rooms were not like the picture. It was OK for the money, but nothing to brag about. It was what you would expect to pay for a 40 or 50 room anywhere else. SLO hotels being so overpriced.
