We had a fantastic stay at Middle Beach, staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was lovely and clean and kept that way throughout our stay. The continental style breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from and the hot drinks were available throughout the day. At 8pm they brought out cookies as well which was wonderful! The only downside […] was that with no car or wheels of any kind everything was at least a 30 minute walk away. However that does give you a wonderful sense of being able to get away from it all. Very nice quaint hotel. The lounge provides a beautiful view and was a very peaceful and serene place. There are no televisions or phones in the rooms and this took some getting uses to. All in all a very nice place at a reasonable cost for the area.

We loved the quiet ambiance of the Lodge at the Beach room. Walking trails and sand beaches at low tide. Little kitchen in the room was nice. The breakfast in the lounge area in the morning was wonderful. Lots of variety in room type available and three very different lodge areas. we had a great stay at the lodge, however we were quite shocked when we first arrived because the photos on the internet were not at all representative of the room we got.

Wireless was available, but the signal was weak and inconsistent--this was frustrating. The bed was too springy and the room a bit small. However, the breakfast was excellent, and the buildings, staff, and location were all great.

Good Breakfast. Common areas were very nice. Middle beach is beautiful, Only complaint is Meckenzie road is not well maintained, and has pot holes everywhere, so driving to and from the resort is not pleasent.

Perfect location to relax, quiet and peaceful. Lovely breakfast. Rooms over at the Lodge at the Beach are very "cosy" but perfectly adequate.

We stayed in a ground floor, ocean view room at the lodge. The room was small and dated but the lodge was beautiful! Availability of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate took the chill out of wonderful beach walks. Continental breakfasts were typical but added to with fresh baked cinnamon buns and croissants. There is daily room service in the room they need […] work: bathroom door dragged on the carpet making it awkward to go in and out. Although we had the delight of hearing the incessant pounding of the ocean serf, we could also hear the man upstairs peeing into the toilet! None the less, management says there is a plan to upgrade the rooms and fix the door, I have booked already for next year... It is a beautiful place to relax and get out of city mode! Middle beach is a very relaxing place to wind down and get away from city life. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. Even during two days of pouring rain we enjoyed ourselves

I have stayed at this hotel many times but had never booked through hotels.com. A few days before our arrival, I called the hotel to confirm our booking and was told they did NOT have the cabin we reserved and we would have to take an inferior cabin as the resort was fully booked. I was very upset by this (the offered unit had no ocean front balcony […] which was primary feature I wanted) so I called hotels.com to complain that the hotel was not honouring my booking. The agent from hotels.com immediately called the hotel and initially she was told the same thing - the hotel was full and we would have to accept the cabin offered. As this was actually a downgrade hotels.com immediately offered me the $100 differential between the 2 units. I still wasn't happy with the hotel but I was very impressed with how hotels.com handled the situation. I later received a call from the hotel saying they secured the unit I originally booked but the whole ordeal was a total hassle. The hotel itself did not even mention this mix-up when I checked-in (no apology) and made no effort at all to make amends for the giant hassle it caused. We found the hotel service in general to be lacking (tv remote didn't work, asked twice for it to be repaired with no response, did not replace towels and toilet paper etc.) Overall, we love this hotel with it's spectacular, natural ocean front setting but they need a little lesson in customer service...perhaps hotels.com could give them some pointers. Staff was great, breakfast was great, room was the smallest I've stayed in. The was no closet and only two drawers for clothes. The area is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend the room to anyone.

The Middle Beach Hotel was most welcoming upon arrival. The lounge area surrounding a grand fireplace had many comfortable chairs and chesterfields with views of the beach or the crackling fireplace. The ability to pour a cup of coffee, tea, water, or hot chocolate was available any time of day or night. Great to take a cup with us on a drive to a local […] beach. The sound of the surf very comforting. Cookies smelled as good as they tasted prior to heading to our room for the night. Breakfast in the morning offered us a variety of foods, fresh baked muffins, cinnamon buns, croissants, eggs, bread to toast, fresh grapefruit, apples, oranges, bananas, yogurt, cereals etc. Staff were most helpful with local info and suggestions on where to go. I didn't research this hotel before I booked as it was recommended. This being the case I was surprised when I arrived and discovered no TV or blow dryer. We had rented cabins during a prior stay and this time it was just my husband and myself. We had a second floor ocean view! It was wondeful. It had a great kitchen ( wish I would have known that it had one), living area, balconey, separate bedroom with the view and a huge bathroom with a soaker tub and shower. Could not have asked for more and it was […] also the one of the best deals in the area. The housekeeping staff were very good and very accomadating. We had a couple of slow starts to our day and they adjusted their schedule for us. Most of the front staff were excellent but at the Thanksgiving supper there was a staff who handled an issue with hotel guest with allergies very, very poorly. Any place that serves food should have a policy in place about what should be done. It was more secluded than I had thought - people should know there aren't TVs in the rooms and the wi-fi is pretty much useless. Having a car is also a good idea. Beautiful location though and the staff was great.

Great location and views however the rooms are in need of updating, they are looking tired and a bit shabby, plus they have horrible brown coloured sheets which are very dated. There is also no wardrobe in the queen upstairs rooms just pegs. We ended up living out of our suitcases. The lounge downstairs was the saving grace and this was nicely furnished […] with sofas and chairs, you could also bring back food and wine and eat in there. The breakfasts were a bit un-adventurous and if you weren't down early enough there wasn't much left. we just loved the warm, rustic , beautiful lodge---very open and cozy--all windows and wood and antiques....staff great--breakfast and tea just great..so close to beaches and tofino and ucluelet....we highly recommend to anyone...would love to return next year !!!!!!!

Found the lodge a great get away. The location on the beach was a great plus for us. The surrounding area was very peaceful. The breakfast was greatly appreciated. And the evening setting was a great way to meet new people and unwind from the day.

Despite being charged, as far as we could tell, more than the difference between the two rooms to upgrade to a sea view - and then discovering the only available sea view room was disapointingly tiny - this was a really lovely lodge to stay in. The location is superb overlooking the cliffs and small beach. The communal lounge really made the stay - […] lots of comfy sofas, log fire, books, games etc plus freshly-baked cookies every day at 8pm and coffee available all day. The breakfasts were also amazing with plenty of freshly-baked choices and cereal, fruit etc. would definitely recommend but ask for one of the bigger rooms or a suite up at the headlands lodge to really appreciate it. Loved the great room in the lodge where we could have our continental breakfast (with delicious homemade muffins and cinnamon buns!), coffee and tea, and the best part--cozy couches to snuggle up with a book by the fire on a rainy day. Great lounge area in lodge, fab beaches, great cinnamon buns for breakfast. Rooms are a bit tiny though, hardly room for suitcases, but great views! Good for the price. Good location. Service was good. We will be back!

I quite enjoyed this hotel that felt both upscale and rustic at the same time. Certainly the location is beautiful and the smell of baking in the halls gave it a very comforting appeal. The room was small and lacked some of the things one comes to expect (TV, hair dryer, clock), but you could always go to the comfortable lounges made available. The […] breakfast was very good. The cinammon danish was worth every calorie. I do wish that North American hotels would be more inclined to include something savoury on the Continental Breakfast menu. This lodge has a fabulous common room for sitting and relaxing. The views are spctacular. Breakfasts are wonderful - uncomplicatedd but delicious. The rooms are snug, so we had to unpack our clothing and hank it on the ample hooks that were provided. The location is convenient to the highway and many activities in the area. I'd like to go back.

If you are looking for a boutique hotel, this isn't the place for you. If you are happy with forest lodge style accomodation - then read on. I don't care that the rooms are a little care worn and that the paint scheme is twenty years out of date - everything is forgotten when you look out the window. It's a setting to die for. The hotel occupies a tiny […] footprint in the virgin forest, it's perched on a rocky rise overlooking a gorgeous beach. It's a place to walk hand-in-hand across the sand and take a little time from the rat-race. Forget the decor and breakfasting at a tressle table squeezed in with the other guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and although small, the room was perfectly fine. The view from our room was wonderful. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the fresh baked cookies at night were very nice touch. We will definitely come back this was excellent value for money.

Had a little problem with room as smaller of cleaner or something that was not comfortable, but front desk re arranged things and we had comfortable kick back stay. Would recommend and good value with Middle Beach being virtually private for guests.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was on a corner with a great view of the ocean through the trees. We experienced dinner on Sat. night. The food was good....salmon and well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to visit Tofino.

Located on a headline, Middle Beach Lodge is suited for storm watching or admiring the view of the beaches. The main lodge offers comfy seating and a great breakfast. Cookies in the evening are a homey treat.

This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The entire room was 9' x12'. I only hit my head on the slopped ceiling once but I am not tall. There was no bedside tables Extra money was paid for a view which if you sat up very straight in your bed you could get a glimpse. Beautiful hotel to relax and enjoy the coast. Even though it rained the whole time we were there, the hotel provided rain coats and boats to go out anyway for hikes and to walk the beach.

We stayed in the "Beach Lodge" for five nights. The accommodation was heavenly. We had a wonderful king sized bed with separate living room /kitchenette and our own balcony with a view of the beach. We could hear the waves crashing against the shore at night. Although many of the hotels amenities (everything from restaurant to rainslickers) can be shared while renting a less expensive room, our getaway in the beachhouse was worth the extra investment.
