While this hotel isn't pretty from the outside, it's much nicer once you go through the main door. It has a nice courtyard with a pool which is great in the hot weather of Merida. Breakfast is adequate, if uninspiring. The beds are typically Mexican on concrete platforms and pretty hard. Rooms are clean and in the newer section the rooms are large and […] the bathrooms too. The hotel ls a 6 minute walk from the main square and a 3 minute walk from the market. There is a self -service laundromat on site which is nice if you are traveling for a while. Really liked the Hotel! ...Breakfast, not so much. I would definitely recommend it for the low budget travellers. They have a washer and dryer available for travellers.. It was greatly appreciated. Location could not have been better!

Nice pool, both shady and sunny relaxing options. clean good-sized rooms w/ comfy beds. good location for lots of walking. NO Water pressure in shower so, unless you're bald, clean hair will escape you for the duration of your stay

Nice Colonial Spanish style hotel.Close to Plaza Mayor, main Mercado, restaurants, etc. Helpful staff (especially Celia, who speaks English very well!). Older furnishings, but clean! Will definitely stay there again!

Dolores Alba has an historic look with modern rooms, nice pool and very friendly staff. Room was ample and clean. The best I{d say is the location, few blocks from zocalo or main square. This was our third stay at HDA and we love the staff and breakfast. Its convenient to the Central Plaza, bus stations and general shopping. We walk everywhere. This is a reasonably priced hotel and we will return. The lobby is full of Frieda Kahlo prints, and cheerful song birds. Wifi is free. The swimming pool is beautiful and cleaned daily. Plants […] and shrubs galore, and a beautiful display of Mexican tile. The staff will assist you in finding you way around, tours, restaurants or whatever you need. Great little hotel, mucho friendly staff. No ceiling fans or pillow top mattress as we were led to believe. Right on a public transit bus route, and sometimes the fumes were overwhelming when stepping out of building. Bit of a walk through all the bus fumes to get to the square. Nice value for the price. Hotel rooms could use painting or scrubbing of dirty hand prints around doors lites etc. Located within a 4 block walk to most sites

When we entered, the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist at the front desk. She quickly confirmed our reservations, She advised us of the complimentary breakfast hours and provided us with the log in for the wi-fi system. Our room was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast included cereal, scrambled eggs, beans, cut up weiners, 3 different kind of juices, cut up fruit, and coffee. Sugar and sweetner were both available. I'm sure others have already mentioned the paucity of the breakfast buffet, so I won't. The room was clean and all that was advertised. The maid service was exceptional. I booked a tour with this hotel and went on a trip with a fine guide. And the paid Internet computers that offer 10 minutes for 10 pesos? Ah, when I logged into Facebook, it was in French and no one had any idea how to get the English-language site. Don't let the front of the hotel fool you... this hotel is a real gem in a fascinating city... and right close to the downtown area. Biding my time till the (free for me) timeshare came available in Cancun I decided to visit the 'White City' of Merida. On recommendation I booked unseen the "Alba" and wasn't disappointed. Floors so clean and shiny you […] could swear you could almost eat off of them. Colonial in appearance and decor.. this hotel would satisfy most... even those used to more expensive highbrow digs. Bedding and towels are changed daily and the beds maybe a tad hard... which suits me just fine... air-con works and isn't too noisy. There is a clean surprisingly large pool in the courtyard surrounded by nicely tended plants. Free breakfast...eat the scrambled eggs but best pass on the sausages.. or just have cereal and fruit.... usually melon. Catch the bus to Progresso for a day trip... only a couple of dollars return on the transit shuttle.... they can arrange reasonably priced trips to the ruins nearby. I give this budget hotel a solid 4 plus with service and amenities that would challenge many higher priced properties. Internet works but only in the lobby area... lots of seating though. The hotel is very nice inside, not for typical turists looking for Marriot, this one is for people lookng for the real Mexico. The bad note is that is located outside bus stops, and in Mexico they are really ugly, but in this city, very safe, this is the safest city in Mexico

The stay at Dolores Alba was great we were greeted by 200year old mechanical doors that stood 12ft high opening automatically for us the court yard of the original building is spectacular and the more recent ectention is in the same style but very moden as well 10\10

Hotel was in a good area. only 4-5 blocks from downtown merida. Hotel staff very friendly rooms keeped very clean Room service cleaned everyday and would come back several time thru out the day to make sure room was cleaned... Very polite and helpful.

This hotel is not a posh hotel but satisfies all the needs for a comfortable stay in a central location. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds will give you a good sleep although they are not luxuriously soft but "orthopedicaly" firm.My room had TV with many sattelite channels. Wifi works perfectly fine and fast but is only available in the breakfast court yard. Rooms have no Mini Bar but there is a vending machine and at the reception you get drinks as well if necessary. Otherwise food places are close to hotel. The pool is well kept and clean. This hotel has an ideal location to all the Center historical sites, shopping etc. It's lovely courtyard and pool provide a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of town. Nice hotel only a few minutes from the centre - has everything you need (WiFi, swimming pool..). The breakfast was ok.

this place is like a little oasis island in an otherwise nondescript neighborhood, but it is three blocks from the pretty plaza!

The hotel was much more that I expected. The private parking, breakfast, enclosed court areas and secure room. The only draw-back was that the TV did not have any connection for the kids games.

The hotel breakfast was not what I expected, nor their lunch menu. All I ate for breakfast was dry bread and butter, juice and coffee with packages of powdered cream. No toaster available. They had cereal in bowls covered with plastic wrap, sliced up hot dogs with strangeled seasoned scrambled eggs that made me gag and fruit cup. I had been staying at the Fiesta Americana for a few days, but it was not really close to anything I was looking for. I booked a room at Hotel Dolores Alba and found it much better than the price would have led me to believe. It was clean, a beautiful pool. And I had a wonderful room looking onto one of the courtyards. I would recommend this hotel for […] anyone wanting a hotel in the city center. We stayed here for most of our trip to Cancun. This hotel was awsome. It felt so cozy and the staff was great. I would defiantely recommend it!

For the low price, this was a fantastic hotel, conveniently located 4 blocks from the Plaza Centro. It even came with a decent breakfast of 2 eggs sunnyside up, beans, bread, fruit, and some bad sausages/hotdogs. I was expecting some pastries, but the breakfast was nice in the lobby courtyard. The pool was refreshing and cool and clean. The room on […] the first floor was very clean and pretty big. AC worked well which was needed, though the beds only had a sheet and a thin bedcover. The bathroom was decent with a hot shower that was large as well. Parking is in the property behind gates so we felt very safe in leaving the car there. This hotel is amazing!!! I booked online and although the reviews and photos were great, I was still hesitant because the price was pretty low (even by Mexican 3 star hotel standards). But when I got there and walked through the courtyard and opened the door to my room, I was like, "you've got to be kidding me....I've struck gold!" LOL! I was a five minute walk from the main square, two minutes to the main markets - great location! And trust me, this matters when temperatures hit 38C! Hotel is beautiful, great ambiance, short walk to Merida's historic downtown area. Lots of local restaurants and stores nearby. The hotel is downtown, but the rear section is still relatively quiet - especially with the overhead fan running for temperature regulation as well as background noise. It is a good hotel placed in downtown, good for the price, close to a park (like 5 or 6 blocks away), 15min from the airport (by car). The receptionist are friendly and they kindly give you directions to any you would like to go. If I have to go to Merida again I will stay here.

The hotel courtyards are beautiful and relaxing. Many of the rooms overlooked these lovely courtyards which added to our comfort. The room was simple, clean and acceptable, considering the nightly cost. The location was very good and a short walk to the main square. We had difficulty deciding on an hotel in Merida via internet sources, but with so many positive reviews from former guests, we decided to give it a shot! We were not disappointed: Pleasant staff, clean & large room with large bathroom (shower only which was fine for us), free garaged parking & free internet in the lobby. The bread & scrambled eggs […] provided were a disappointment (cooked early & left in a tray until totally gone), but the fresh fruit, cereal, coffee/tea/milk were all fine. Hotel seems to have a number of long-time, return clients. Deceptively quite, too, considering its location on a main bus run. Just 10 minutes to the main square without rushing! We took a 14 day road trip throughout the entire Yucatan peninsula staying at 5 different hotels along the way and the front desk staff at the Dolores Alba were by far the most expert, most knowledgeable, most gracious, and most welcoming. This little hotel is a gread find. Located few blocks from the central plaza, walking distance from markets and restaurants. Private, secured and free parking is a plus. The old entry way and front desk may give you the wrong impression, it is the old part of the hotel. In the back is the new addition and the rooms are comfortable and quiet with a view […] on the garden and the pool. Make sure you book in the new addition. Delores Alba is a great value - clean rooms, a breakfast buffet (nothing spectacular but gets the job done), and a nice pool area. It's convenient to many of the cultural sites but not to the bus station, so be prepared to either take a taxi or to hoof it a bit with your luggage. The crowd is largely American and European tourists.
