Convenient for our purposes. Just a clean and quiet room for a one night stay. The parking became an issue for us but we squeezed in to a spot that was really not for parking. We worried a bit that we might get a ticket. It was a cold a rainy night and we didn't want to park at a distance from the hotel.

Much more than I expected for the price. Beautiful green areas surround the residence. Feels very safe and family friendly. Definitely has a studenty vibe. Very friendly, helpful staff. Will stay here again.

I went to Ottawa for an exam. This place was very reasonable for a short stay. Staff are friendly. Room was quiet, clean and convenient. It is also close to grocery. I would recommend this place and I will be looking to go there for another time.

Hotel was clean and lots of space. Plus , refrigerator and microwave. But no wireless in the room. Only wireless in Lobby.

For the price, it's beyond the expectation. it's in the campus, it took time for me to find the building. the microwave was smelling burn when we use it.

A pleasant surprise, much better than I had anticipated. Very clean, the beds were comfortable and having two separate bedrooms and a fridge and microwave in the suite was great. Brought my wife and 2 teenagers and we had a great time. My daughter asked if we could stay there again next time in Ottawa. Staff were friendly and professional. Our A/C was not working so we were lent a hotel fan, and we had also brought our own fan after reading past reviews. The weather while we stayed was very hot but we were very comfortable for […] 3 nights. Overall I would say the residence is a great value. I was not expecting luxury and was not disappointed. It has no real decor it is a college residence but you get two separate bedrooms and shared kitchen and bath. A family with two kids would be fairly comforatble here. The breakfast was a great start to each and every day of our visit to Ottawa. We […] did walk the first three days and you could get to the major sites in 45 minutes on foot. After three days we were relieved to pick up our rental car and explore other areas in and around the city. Parking is free and the neighbourhood seemed quite safe. If you want a cheap, clean, central base for your visit this should fit your needs. It is probably 3-4 kms from the Parliament Hill, Byward Market and the National Gallery. Fairly quiet and safe neighbourhood. #5 bus goes to the downtown areas or about a $10-$12 cab ride. Not much for restaurants close by except for takeout pizza or great greek takeout and delivery on Hawthorne. Also a small vegetarian place across the street but we did not try it. The TVs were not great but who watches TV on vacation. Wireless is available in lobby and our room on the 5th floor had some coverage but I think this is hit or miss on different floors. We had a pleasant stay. Neighborhood was quiet. Basic but adequate breakfast. Wonderful 2 bedrm suite. Had difficulty locating the residence on the campus. Would definitely look to return.

Perfect location within walking distance to downtown (along beautiful Rideau Canal). Great value for staying in Ottawa, staff was friendly and very helpful, continental breakfast is included in the rate and was a great way to start the day. Room was clean, and had everything I needed.

Inexpensive place to stay during the summer. Free Internet and great proximity to dining and entertainment. Book well ahead of time... free parking!

Overall very good stay, close to everything. The only and only issue is very limited close parking (when you need to load and unload your stuff) but then they have extra parking little further.

Probably the best hotel for the price for the 10 day vacation in different cities. If they can offer more breakfast varieties, nothing can beat it.

This is a 2* hotel and I was not expecting miracles, but my family and I were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and with the conditions of the hotel itself. Besides, it turned out to be very close to the downtown center of Ottawa.

This is not your standard hotel room. Instead, it's a dorm room that has been converted into a hotel. Our stay Saint Paul was comfortable and restaurants were not very far from the residence, I would highly recommend this place and I would come and use it on my next visit to Quebec City.

Clean, functional rooms, and nice to have two bedrooms for the price of one. Full size fridge and microwave are handy, but we didn't use them. Good service, helped us with an early check-in. Location isn't the greatest for walking from the hotel, but if you have a car it's fine. Would stay again....

We stayed for 3 nights. We were impressed by the quality of service and comfort for young families. Sure beats most Motels, and the price was just right. Would definitely come back and highly recommend to any traveller. No noise or rowdy issues. Had the best sleep over other 3+ star establishments . This residence suited us perfectly. Two rooms and a kitchen, plenty of space for two parents and two kids, very clean and quiet, pleasant and courteous staff, safe and quiet and convenient location (very close to Rideau Canal and only about a mile from Parliament) and even a solid continental breakfast. Only complaint is inadequate internet access -- […] but even there when I inquired about wifi in the room the staff was quick to offer to lend a computer cable for wired internet. An excellent value - we will return. If you are looking for amenities (pool, room service, chocolates on your pillow) this is not your place. We had arrived at the St Paul University Residence at 10:30 in the evening after driving through a rain storm for 10 hours. We were elated to find a very helpful staff member on duty that time of night. We found the facility very clean. The two room suite was basic but adequate for our needs - especially for the price. Wish I knew about this place during the many years of weekly visits to Ottawa. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms. What else do you want? The location is a university environment and the rooms were much more comfy and efficient than my son's days in the quad. Staff was most helpful and certainly had a sense of humour. Having a car is helpful to get from […] the location to some museums and places of interest, but on a good day walking along the Rideau Canal to the downtown area is worth it. Residence was clean and fairly new - well suited to families, with double beds and TVs in two separate bedrooms plus tiny kitchen with two chairs and table. Lovely view of tree tops from our room. Lacked a couch or comfortable chair, and shower curtain was not wide enough.
