There isn't much to do in the city but for one day/night you can't really beat this hotel. Location was great right around corner from the castle and bars/restaurants. We were able to a nice shopping stroll, followed by tapas dinner, and live music all writhing 3 minute walk from hotel. We had a lovely stay at the Pembroke Hotel and would have loved to have been able to stay another night. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. It is close to Kilkenny Castle and there are lots of hotels and eating places close by. Parking was at the back to the hotel and this was very convienient.

Excellent and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Excellent breakfast too. This hotel is also located in a greast position for all Kilkenny attractions.

From the moment you check in till you are "forced lol" to leave it was a pleasure to stay. Mari & Keith at reception could not have done more to make us feel welcomed. From directions about town to suggestions for some of the best food we had (Kytelers) they were amazing. Keith was kind enough to let us borrow his personal phone charger as well. We stayed here two nights on our whirlwind tour of Ireland and lucked out having this hotel for more than one night. The rooms are huge, so plenty of room to spread out and the beds are super comfortable. The water pressure is good. There is also complimentary off-street parking if you're driving. We ate dinner both nights in the restaurant downstairs […] (actually in the bar area) because the food was so good. It's around the corner from the main streets with pubs and shopping, so it's quiet, but well located. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast a delicious standard Irish Breakfast Buffet (this was the best bacon we found in all of Ireland). Staff at this hotel could not have been more helpful from offers of help with Luggage, enquiring if all was OK to information on local amenities and shopping. Stayed in a Superior Room 206 which was so spacious and comfortable but is located at the front of the hotel. Had a great stay although our heating in the room would not work.the hotel staff. We're very helpful and put a heater in for us which solved the problem.

The hotel is excellent and was centrally located near the Kilkenny Castle and the High Street. The room is very large with plenty of space. Kilkenny is a great place to visit and this hotel is an excellent place to stay.

Its difficult to pick a bad location in Killkenny centre as it is a small city but the Pembroke is particularily good - just 2 mins to most sites. Hotel is modern, breakfasts were better than average and there are no noisy nightcluds in the hotel or nearby, so it is quiet at night. Staff first class.Quite good parking facilities as well.

The first time I entered the lobby I noticed that the rugs needed to be cleaned . We thought all the carpets in halls and our bedroom also needed cleaning.The baths seemed to have been recently remodled and were clean. The breakfast could have more choices. Lovely hotel in a truly great central position. The Pembroke is a couple of minutes walk from numerous friendly pubs and the Kilkenny Castle, which is really worth a visit. The grounds are spectacular, to say the least. The hotel itself features quality rooms that are quite large. The beds are definitely a highlight. Excellent hotel, location close to City, very lucky to arrive arrive in town just before the Hurling champions and their parade started, staff were very helful and friendly, meals there were fantastic and service in bar/restaurant also very friendly and polite

The staff was very accommodating - friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Easy walk from train/bus station - just ask a local for directions!

Very clean rooms, very nice folks at reception and very eager to help us. Super location....just a bit away from the majority of the pubs, etc so getting to sleep early one night was easy. 5 minutes at you're at the Castle! Will book this again if I'm in Kilkenny again...and I sure hope so! Lovely village!

Wonderful hotel near everything. You are within a block of Kilkenny Castle, lots of shops, lots of pubs and restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and quite large by European standards. The hotel lobby area was nice and clean.

A lovely hotel right around the block from the center of town. A hotel with an intimate feel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms were very nice and large. Breakfast was wonderful in their nicely decorated and staffed restaurant, serving buffet of cereals and fruit and menu service of breakfast.

This hotel was rated very highly and that is why we picked it. It definitely did not feel like a 4 star hotel. It was located in town and had very little parking. The lobby was tiny with no place to relax. Our room was very small, needed your key card to run the power, had no movies to purchase and no views. The staff was courteous but not overly helpful. […] The breakfast buffet had no oatmeal and the fruit was in a syrup and not a nice mixture. No apples or bananas were available. You can't go wrong with this hotel. It's in a great location, is nicely updated, and has all the amenities we expected. The free, on site parking was a plus hard to find in downtown European hotels. It's definitely worth it's high rating.

Nice boutique hotel close to everything. We spent 3 nights here during April. Decor is very nice, location is good and it is generally very quiet although we did have some noise from a sports team coming back to their rooms on the last night. Would definitely recommend for a weekend break. Staff are very helpful. Good hotel, good location near the castle and some great bars. Hotel room a bit small and sparse and a random pair of jocks under my pillow made me think the bed was not properly changed. Staff were friendly and the late bar is exactly that. Good stay.

The hardest part of getting to the Pembroke is driving in on the narrow, one way streets. It is easy to pass by while looking at the great town of Kilkenny. Don't be discouraged if the courtyard car park is full there is an overflow lot and the staff will direct you. Went to the bar on the tuesday night for a drink and waited for ten minutes for to be served while the barman was to busy makeing coffee for the restaurant also asked for early bird menu at 7.15pm and to be told that it was over and it was advertised up untill 7.30pm bearing in mine i was in the bar at 7.05pm approx.

booked a superior room for the oct bank holiday and to say i was disappointed when i seen the room was an understatement i have stayed in nicer double rooms, i would'nt have liked to seen there double rooms other than that the hotel was nice in the lobby staff were friendly plenty of parking but n not sure if id stay again after paying extra for a superior […] room and not getting one !!!
