Chinatown is a maze of streets packed with colorful pre-war shophouses selling bric-a-brac, clothing, antiques and Chinese herbs. Expect good bargains along Tengganu, Temple, and Pagoda Streets, and the best food on Smith Street. The big malls are located along New Bridge Road. Visit Chinatown Heritage Center, see the ornamental Sri Mariamman Hindu temple, or hop on a trishaw for a tour.

"Bargain in Chinatown"
OK, get the obvious out of the way first, the rooms are small, basically a bed, small counter and bathroom, not a lot of floorspace and nowhere to put your luggage. BUT, its just out of the centre of Singapore, right in the middle of Chinatown, close to MRT, and has very reasonable rates. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful […] so living with the room being a bit cramped was worth it for getting a bargain in this location. "Good over night stay"
It was an acceptable hotel for an overnight stay, right in the middle of China town and very close to transport. The room and especially the bathroom were very clean. If you take into account the price and the fact this hotel can be used as an overnight stop over, you can over come the fact that the rooms are small, but you are there simply to sleep […] . "Great Boutique Hotel"
The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. It is in a great location for the MRT and there are lots of good eating places in the area. If you are looking for large rooms then you will be disappointed but I had just come back from Japan so I was attuned to efficient use of space. I will definitely stop there next time.Tikras „Hotels.com“ svečio atsiliepimas
"Nice but painfully & laughable small rooms"
The hotel is cool sheik dark and artsy located right next to the MRT in Chinatown. But I felt claustrophobic in the rooms, and we tried three. They finally upgraded us to a "larger" room with a "window". I've never seen a room as small as the standard. Only space is under the bed for luggage. Like a matchbox. You could call it cozy but it just freaked […] me out. But even the larger room was the smallest I've ever been in after the porcelain standard room. I think the white decor (versus the blue and black of the standard) helped with the illusion it was bigger. Everything was great except the room size and lack of pool. "Closet fever"
This was the smallest room I've ever had in my 65 years of traveling. Now it was cheap and actually comfortable...but I've never seen anything quite so tiny. I have to admit that it was functional and a great neighborhood and actually comfortable...and the price was right...or about the best in Singapore of the Hotels.com listings. Wifi worked great […] and was free. Skaityti daugiauTikras „Hotels.com“ svečio atsiliepimas

"Small hotel"
Nice staff, great location around the corner from the Chinatown MRT. My complaint was the room is very small. With two twin beds there was barely enough room to walk between the two beds. Bathroom was a big wetroom and not well designed. Every time you take a shower the toilet was wet. If you dont plan on spending much time in your room then this place […] is adequate. At night I heard noise from the street, but it wasn't too bad. Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

Rooms were clean and staff were helpful. Not large at all - no good if ou wanted to sit at a desk and do some work but generally suited our needs. Good locationTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai
"If you are not picky with cleaniness..."
The location and exterior appearance of hotel are both appealing. However, the hygiene and condition of room were not acceptable. The bedding and pillows were smelly. Soundproof of our room was bad. Many times we were waked up by the sound made by people closing doors and talking along the corridor after midnights. We will not stay there next time!Tikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"Good location bad room"
The location is good. Close to metro and good connections to other parts of the city. The room was tiny and it was the best room they had. The room was extremely humid. The bed felt moldy and moist to the point that the passports were almost ruined. Some visa stamps fell out due to humidity. The smell in the room was moldy. AC was running but the humidity […] remained. I would not stay there again. Skaityti daugiauTikras „Hotels.com“ svečio atsiliepimas
"Fantastic hotel with great location!"
I love this hotel! I paid a little extra and booked a Superior double for my solo trip to Singapore for 3 days (a long stop over London-Perth). It's in such a great stop, right next to china town with great food and tourist markets and China Town MRT station which is so easy to use. The hotel itself is very modern, friendly staff and s very dark. There's […] not much lighting in this hotel but that's the look they're going for. The room is quite small, but larger than my tiny London hotel so I was happy. The shower is huge, the bathroom section is a little small but livable. The bed was massive and very comfortable, I also had a window which I know a lot of other rooms didn't. My only complaint is that the room doesn't have a larger mirror! Very minor but the only mirror was for your face. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Singapore though! Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"Good for like a night or 2 only"
Location is really the only good thing about this hotel. It's about a block away from the Chinatown MRT stop & it's near a lot of restaurants & cafes. Room is cramped, but clean enough. Lighting isn't great & hot water is limited. Staff is friendly.Tikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"ok for the price"
ok. BUT, I and a friend stayed at Porcelaine Mosque road , singapore 11/26/12 to 11/29/12. The hotel put a charge of Singapore $300 on my card when I checked in. The amount was to cover any international calls I may take. We took no international calls during our stay. It is now 12/2/12 and the the charge still appears on my card.Tikras „Hotels.com“ svečio atsiliepimas
"Being a small room was not the only issue"
It's just a bed is what I thought as I knew the room was small. I didn't think that the bathroom (shower/toilet) would be behind glass. That means your partner can see 'everything' you do! While laying in bed I could touch all four walls at the same time... neat party trick. We stayed in a standard room, you could just fit two people next to the bed. […] If you wanted to change sides, the bathroom was a friend. When opening the door to exit one had to stand back to allow the door to open inwards, only problem is the second person hits them self on the coffee making facilities. One thing to consider. There was only one power point. When you leave your room all power is turned off in the room. That includes all charging devices, fridge and air con. Don't expect the water to be cold from the fridge. Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"Small but has everything you need for a short stay"
Hotel is located in Chinatown with MRT and bus stops close by. Rooms are small and probably only suitable for short stays but are well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings. Bathroom / toilet is a combined "wet-room" so the toilet is effectively in the shower with you but on the plus side the shower has rain shower head, so very nice. Only stayed […] for 1 night. "Great location & access to everything in Singapore"
My stay at the porcelain was very nice, and exactly what I'm looking for out of a hotel for a business trip. The rooms are quite small, but that's OK for one person. It didn't detract from the experience. The hotel is centrally located one block from the Chinatown MRT, two blocks from Smith Street food stalls, and near tons of cultural and culinary […] destinations. And most importantly for me, the internet connection was fast and reliable! Very good for getting business done on the road. The staff were friendly, courteous, and hands-off, which I also appreciated. Everything was clean and in working order. Plus the hotel is right next to an awesome bakkwa (sweet meat jerky) shop, which was great for late night snacks! Air conditioning also worked very well, which is a must in Singapore. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying solo, who needs convenient access to lots of transport and sights to see. The MRT is right next door, Clarke Quay & Raffles Place are short (10-20) minute walks away. Finally, don't miss the Lau Pa Sat hawker center / food court, one of the best & most historical. Walk east on Upper Cross Street from this hotel about 10 minutes and you'll see it. Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

the room is not larger than a jail cell.... does not have ANY closets..my husband is 6 feet 2 inch, and had to sleep with his legs bended, since the bed was not long enough, and a wall was at the feet........ Good: one bottle of mineral water for one night, large enough for one person, free Wi-hi Bad: no window (in the room I stayed), no closet Others: not expensive but not cheap, close to the Chinatown station (which didn't mean much to me since I walked around a lot) Overall: enough place to sleep and take a showerTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"Boutique on a budget"
Boutique Budget is the best way to describe this hotel. If you want to be in the thick of China Town and the hustle and bustle of it all this is a great location. Cabs are cheap to get to the Botanical Gardens (recommended) or Orchard Road, and if you are game to try the street vendors it is a local food fest. I can recommend the food court in the Peoples […] Palace (i think that's what its called - but its not really a tourist destination). Overall if you don't need a buffet breakfast or a window in your room (!) it will be a cool oasis from which to venture out into the tropical heat and humidity. "Budget and claustrophobic travelers beware!"
Apart from the very small livable space, there are also very limited amenities available. For instance; - No full mirror - No wardrobe - No slippers - No hair conditioner (only poor quality shampoo) - No windows (the room we stayed) Unless on a tight budget, i would avoid the stay at this hotel. It is only better than a hostel if you require privacy. […] I suggest paying an extra $20-40 a night and stay somewhere else. We have stayed at similar sized hotel rooms in Japan with a much more pleasant experience overall. Rating this hotel 3/10. Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai

"Stay only a night, max 2 nights.Rooms no windows."
The hotel is within walking distance to Chinatown. I had a three night stay and requested a room with a window a week before my check in, otherwise I wanted to cancel the booking. I had read reviews of the hotel after I booked the room. I should have read them before. Most rooms do not have windows. You are in a room with four walls. I was concerned […] about this.First night I stayed in a room without windows. My request for a room with windows was not able to be fulfilled. The room was fine, well decorated and had a shower, toilet, air conditioning and a double bed and TV, phone desk and mirror. It was OK for a night. I moved into a room with windows on the second floor the next day but there is construction work going on all day from 8 am to 6 pm. The hotel staff didn't tell me this. I could not stay in the room as it was noisy. I wanted a nap in the afternoon and couldn't due to the noise. I moved to a room without windows again as that was the only room available. This room had a damp smell to it. I didn't like it but had to stay there for a night. The third night I stayed in a room with windows on the third floor. It seemed fine and the air was much better than the room without windows. Only problem was that there was some street noise. Skaityti daugiauTikri „Expedia“ svečių atsiliepimai
