Hip Hotel Tulum - Tulum

It was really a nice cute place to hide away. Behind the private cabanas is the ocean and a beautiful restauraunt that will do anything to accomadate their guest. We enjoyed it to the fullest and will absolutely be returing at some point.

Nice hotel in great location right at a wonderful beach. This is a good 3 star property, however, be aware that the rooms are clean, though very simple. There is no TV, no phone, no hair dryer....only the basics... If you are a light sleeper, try not to book the bungalow with room 19. Since windows do not have glass (only screens) due to the heat...it […] will be loud, since you will hear all people parking their car or passing by the street or talking in the parking lot or the hotel reception. Hip Hotel is part of a larger franchise (Ana & Jose) of hotels that dot the cost of Tulum. Its not the fanciest of hotels but it offers that perfect corona beer commercial experience. The room rates are good but the cost of the hotel restaurant is very hight as are their cost for any spa services such as massage. The neighboring Hotel OM has a great […] restaurant with good food and a nice happy hour. Many people seem to go there as its a much better deal. The hotel service is good and the hotel does offer wifi which is a nice feature since cell phone service is spotty in this area. There are locals that offer massage and diving, but dont have them come to the hotel. The managment will give you grief for it. Lastly, if mosquitos like you... bring off candles or something. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hip Hotel. We had a garden view room, upper level and it was just as the advertised pictures showed. Super comfy beds and pillows were appreciated. The beach was stunning. I had a bad start to the stay as I realised my passport missing, however Antonio did all he could to assist me in locating it. My only […] suggestion to making a stay at the Hip better would be to have bicycles for hire as we had to go to another hotel to do so and the hotel is one of the further ones along the beach. We went in early July, and had already been in Tulum for a few days at a different hotel, so didn't think the heat would be too bad so close to the beach (it's literally on the water). However, upon staying the night without air conditioning, we realized that it was much too bold of us to attempt a stay without the luxury of air conditioning. It was […] much too hot, even with the ceiling fan on all night and the windows and doors open. The ventilation wasn't so good. We eventually got up in the middle of the night and went for a walk on the water to cool off. The perk: we saw turtle spawnings. The other great thing about this hotel~ hotels in the area usually don't allow check-in until 3-4pm. Because our room was available, we were able to check-in early without a problem. Overall, it was a decent experience. Just tough to sleep with the heat. The amenities were minimal (as are most hotels on the water). The hotel restaurant was a bit expensive for not offering air conditioning. I would go to the neighboring hotels for meals. They had better quality and it was much cheaper. Skaityti daugiau

Very good location, right on beach. Lovely bungalows, clean rooms and public areas. Wonderful beach. The restaurant is quite expensive, but most of the dishes are very good.

Disconects you from everything literally. Only bad thing is that rooms have no AC, but it's part of the deal and environment. Great beach within walking distance.

Great location along the best part of Tulum beach! Good distance between cabanas. In some hotel, rooms are very closed. You will find the great charm of eco-turism in a cabana with all you can find in any other luxury hotel. It is like a dream... No A/C but you don't need it thanks the fresh air from the sea!

Friendly staff, lots of smiles, quiet, beautiful beach & property and rooms with killer views. It's also very close to some solid restaurant options. I would stay at Hip Hotel again.

This was our first trip to Tulum, Mexico and we did all of the hotel research online. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Though the hotel was quite simple, it was very clean and the staff was always accommodating for requests like extra water, beach towels, recommendations, etc. We enjoyed an ocean facing room and though it was quite rainy during […] our stay, we had some lovely sun breaks and the view was just breathtaking. Hip hotel is nice, great located. I liked to finally find a hotel with a complementary breakfast and wifi. I didn't like that the rooms looked much nicer on the website pictures. Also - a great discomfort were the dogs barking at night. We didn't get much of a sleep.

This is a great hotel for couples or families looking for the exact opposite of the all-inclusive mega-resort experience. The hotel is very small and sits right on one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. It lies toward the southern end of the ocean front road which stretches from the tulum ruins at the north to the national eco park in the […] south. It is owned by the Ana y Jose group who've had hotels in Tulum for many many years. Breakfast includes an egg based dish of your choice. The restaurant is also good for lunch or dinner. It is very quiet at night so if you want a party seen, you probably have to find it elsewhere, but the calm of this hotel makes it super relaxing. There are no TVs in the room, but free Wi-fi throughout the property. The rooms are pretty brand new. Definitely great to spend a few days, rent a bike across the street for $12/day and bike around to the ruins and the beaches. The ocean looks rough, but it is very safe (no undercurrent) and so much fun to just float on the waves. My wife and I stayed here for 1 night, but wished it had been 2-3. The hotel is very well placed in front of the beach. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would have liked a little more variety and amount of food in the breakfast. This is not a constraint to that again choose other holidays.

I stayed at this hotel from Nov. 1 to Nov 13, 2011. I went on this vacation with no preconceived notions about my stay and I returned from Tulum quite happy. The hotel was great and the people who worked behind the scenes were fantastic. The Hip Hotel is on the South end of Tulum beach, away from the busier section of Tulum playa. Vi hade en cabanas helt nere vid stranden vilket gav världens bästa soluppgång men tyvärr även lite väl mycket väsen från vågor och vind... Fhi con mi mujer para celebrar nuestro aniversario y realmente estuvimos contentos. Creemos que por el precio del hotel es la mejor opcion de la playa de tulum. Realmente te ofrece un poco mas que cualquier otro de la zona por el precio.

Praia linda, com muitas pousadas e restaurantes. Quarto espaçoso, mas sem tv, música e minibar. Apenas ventilador de teto. Janelas não funcionam bem. Manutenção a desejar. Restaurante pouco convidadtivo. Qualidade do atendimento bem abaixo da media local, os funcionários parecem insatisfeitos e a gerência indiferente aos hospedes. Hotel defasado.

Traumstrand Der Strand ist ein Traum. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit seaview direkt am Strand. Man konnte das Meer vom Bett aus sehen und vor allem hören. Das Restaurant entsprach nicht dem uebrigen Standard. Der Service war gut, aber das Ambiente hatte den Charme einer Bahnhofshalle. Schade!

Das Hotel besteht aus Cabanas direkt am puderweißen Sandstrand. Das inkludierte Frühstück ist ausreichend, gegen Aufpreis gibt es weitere Variationen. Als wir ein Problem mit unserem Mietauto hatten, erledigte der Hotelmanager alle Telefonate für uns. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl in diesem Hotel!
