Fenland Guest House - Sautamptonas

I booked this guest house because of the reviews, which were good, and also because it was a 4 star Guest House. I now query the criteria for a 4 Star Guest House. The photos on your site with the hanging baskets makes it look nice. Our room was large and warm on arrival. It was a very cold night and the heating, which couldn't be controlled in your […] room, went off around 9 pm and never came on in the morning when the room was still cold. There was one hairdryer between ALL the guests, which you had to ask for and hand back when finished. Never known this before. Bedding was of poor quality and no sheet between bottom sheet and duvet. We were very pleased with our stay at the Fenland and would happily recommend it to anyone we know. If we are ever that way again, we would definitely stay there. The service was lovely and the owners were so welcoming, we really can't fault anything.

the Fenland guest house proprieter was very nice. My only complaint was that the room was cold and it seemed that during the afternoon the heat was turned off.

We had a lovely bedroom with a huge king sized bed, nice sized bathroom and one of the best hotel breakfasts ever. I would highly recommend this hotel for its excellent food, good clean facilities and friendly hosts.

A bit out of the way for someone travelling by public transport but the bus to the centre is regular and, once I found a landmark or two, easy to navigate. Quiet and clean. I'd come back.

We stayed overnight whilst visiting our son at Uni. Our room (number 9)was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was really big and we both had a fantastic nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious, with an enormous choice and it was only a 5 minute drive to visit the Uni. Thank you Martin and Sue, we will definitely be visiting again!

Very quaint B&B. Cozy room and freindly owners. Breakfast was very good! We stayed just one night as we were transitioning to the airport next day, but if in Southampton again I would stay here. Very close to downtown as well.

Very clean all round and the owners are lovely. The beds are very comfortable and I didn't want to get up, but when I did, I was rewarded with a fantastic fried breakfast. Could not have asked for more, will definitely stay there again.

The guest house offers a very clean and comfortable room and a great traditional English breakfast. The staff is very friendly. I would stay there again. Great for the price!

I misread the description of this hotel, and did not realise that the room made use of a shared bathroom. Apart from that, the place was lovely, clean and well cared for. Car parking was tight someone else had to park behind me - but I did not need to get out of the car park during the evening so it was not a problem.

Helen and Duncan, the hosts of Fenland during our stay were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating to all our needs. We felt very comfortable and at home in the guesthouse even though it was our first visit to Southampton looking for future accommodation within the city. Their hints and advice were very helpful and unbiased regarding safe locations […] to settle into. Breakfast was superb and plentiful -- you can last almost an entire day on the meal alone. The guest house is really close to train station (8 min. walking), and coach station (10 min. walking), and city trade centre (18 min. walking). I stayed at the hotel for two weeks, and I hadn't found any imperfection. Exception is - some times the WiFi connection was poor. I recommend to try the full english breakfast - Sue cooks it perfectly.

In dem kleinen Hotel begrüßte uns eine sehr nette, ältere Dame, die scheinbar die Hausherrin ist. Sie zeigte uns persönlich das Zimmer und erklärte uns alles. Ein relativ kleines Bad, aber sauber. Dafür war das Bett umso größer. :-) Supermärkte und Restaurants bzw. Fastfood sind in ca. 10 Min zu Fuß zu erreichen. Obwohl das Hotel quasi an einer Kreuzung […] liegt, war es absolut ruhig zum Schlafen. Besonders erwähnenswert das frisch zubereitete Frühstück. Ich war zwar nur eine Nacht zu Besuch, aber mit allem sehr zufrieden. Das Zimmer war klein und funktional, Dusche und WC auf der Etage. Alles war sehr sauber. Stanza pulita, confortevole. Peccato che "bagno in camera", in Inghilterra, significa solo lavabo......docce e toilette sono in comune!

Hoewel we maar 1 nacht in het guest house hebben geslapen was het toch een fijn verblijf. Hoewel aangegeven was dat je pas vanaf 2 uur de kamer in konden werden we om half 12 net zo hartelijk welkom geheten door de eigenaar. Kamers zijn prima met eigen badkamer, en het ontbijt wordt naar ieders persoonlijke wens vers klaargemaakt. Super!
