Howard's House Hotel

I can’t praise this place too highly enough. Top quality in every respect, without being pretentious. Set in an idyllic setting in a pretty village complete with stream and thatched cottages. Surrounded by peaceful and beautiful scenery. Rooms are spacious well furnished with quality bedding and white company toiletries. Immaculately clean. I dropped my earring down the sink and even the unend / trap was sparkling clean!! Service is attentive and friendly and oh the food. Well I am amazed there is no Michelin star as it really deserves one if not two. Suffice to say we have booked before we left for another stay next year. A perfect peaceful romantic haven of a hotel- I doubt there is anywhere comparable ! We have stayed in many corporate , independent and boutique hotels. But this is a standout ultra special place!

Liked: Genuine country house hotel atmosphere, very pleasant attentive staff and a high standard food at sensible prices. Didn't like: Nothing not to like. If you want a pool, spa or nearby shops, don't book here. If you enjoy relaxing in a beautiful garden listening to the water, and the English countryside, then do.

For dinner, the setting on a summers evening is idyllic, suns sets over rolling fields and forested hills, a pretty church spire framed by the lovely garden, served by attentive and friendly staff with excellent food quality. The location is quiet and rural but with good connections to lots of interesting places not far away, so an ideal location for a few days to explore this part of Wiltshire.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting with lovely gardens. Our room was very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The service was a little slow at breakfast, which was delicious, but it gave us more time to enjoy sitting outside on the terrace.

Lovely property, nice dining room and outside eating area. On check in we realized our room was at the top of the hotel and we are both semi-disabled so not able to climb all those stairs. They did arrange for a room only one floor up which was good but an extra 30 pounds. It would have been good to know about this in advance and we would have booked it. If it wasn't available not sure what we would have done.

An absolutely stunning country Inn. Service and food are excellent. A few stairs to work around but staff more than accomodating. Simon the owner/manager is both personable and more than happy to make your stay memorable. Be certain to ask about the name.

Very welcoming staff, excellent breakfast. The walk into Salisbury centre was about 20 minutes along an industrial car lot area, past the station to avoid the busy main road.

Lovely hotel, very helpful staff

What an idyllic place. Quintessential old English village surrounded but rolling country hills. I'd go back for sure if i were in the area. The only disappointment was food service. While tasty, as a solo dinner, one night my dinner order was forgotten when a large party came in to dine. Truly a down point of my stay. I met several locals and talked about the village and needs to protect places like this from development for all to enjoy.
