Snooze Inn Dunlop Street - Hostel

There are believed to have bedbugs.. No basic soap, shampoo,tooth paste, etc are provided. The plugs are spoilt. Too many foreign workers from India,that nobody dare drinking hotvwater from the common kitchen. No ice, cold water ,etc are provided. Everything must buy one. I booked for 6 people in a room, but gave me 8 people.They are not following my requirements at all. No basic lock is provided, must rent from them, etc. Sorry, I had bad sleeps already. So, I immediately checked out the next day,by going into Genting hotel which is better. I slept well in Genting Hotel. I will never choose this hostel

We spent a week at the Snooze in on Dunlop St, having to book accommodation for 13 people meant we looked for something affordable and Snooze Inn certainly met our requirements. We also were provided with free breakfast of toast and coffee and internet use throughout the hostel. While some area's of the hostel were run down, the hostel was clean. A cleaner was regularly seen vacuuming and generally keeping the place tidy. We had bath mats changed and rubbish bins in our rooms emptied regularly, we also had our sheets changed during our stay. We found the staff to be friendly, extremely accommodating and happy to share their local knowledge. When people we were travelling with, had their accommodation which was booked elsewhere unexpectedly cancelled the receptionist went out of his way to help them find alternative arrangements within the hostels. The hostel is in a great position for exploring Singapore, within walking distance to 3 different MRT lines, shops and hawker centres. Many tourist attractions are easily accessible via the nearby MRT's and the airport was only a 30 minute ride away. Thank you Snooze Inn for your hospitality.

Bathroom dirty

The hostel was surprisingly clean and bug free. It is an old building that needs lots of renovation work, in the old poorer area of Singapore. The "kitchen" was terrible, 2 tables, 4 chairs, a tiny sink, a packed fridge and a few cups and spoons. It was outdoors shared with local pigeons... We got a family room with ensuite shower/toilet. It was convenient however the system can surprise westerners as the shower was part of the room and you got the toilets wet while showering. The staff were really nice and helpful, the area was lively and packed with restaurants. The area was very safe.

The location is the best imaginable - in the middle of little India where a lot can be explored in the small side roads, authentic Indian food in abundance and the best: not even 5 minutes to walk to the stations of 2 different subway lines, which take you more or less everywhere. Staff is friendly and helpful, price for the liquids in the fridge beside the reception are surprisingly low. Only the included breakfast should be considered as a joke: toast bread out of the pack, one type of jam and peanut butter. Cleaning up your used dishes is expected to be done by you.

I like the fact that the hostel is close to public transportation, restaurants and shopping area however place is very dirty and poorly updated and infested. Found cockroach and mouse in the building and neighbouring building. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all!

The front desk person is really nice and helpful. And the breakfast is good.
