Hotel Edison

I love this hotel, this was my 3rd stay. There 3 restaurant and a Starbucks near by. 1 block from time square.

he location of this hotel is perfect for seeing all of New York. It's literally a stones throw from Times Square which means you are centrally located for walking to all the attractions or catching the hop on/hop off buses. The hotel is a lovely Art Deco hotel and whilst the upper corridors look a little dated the hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice too with coffee and water provided. The wi-fi was a bit hit and miss for us in the higher floors. We paid for breakfast which is taken in Friedmans (connected to the hotel), you get a voucher to use on a certain menu so whilst you don't get the full choice of the menu the choices are enough and the portions are huge and come with tea/coffee and orange juice. We had a drink in the Rum House one evening, also connected to the hotel and it was lively with live music and the service was good.

Room was very small -- no comfortable chairs (or place to even put them) to sit. Bathroom was especially tiny. Location was convenient, but it was extremely noisy. We paid for early check-in after a red-eye flight, but were kept waiting almost an hour to get into a room.

Housekeepers were very friendly, rest of staff (check in / front desk / security / valet) were much less friendly and helpful. Room was very small with minimal modern amenities
