Having stayed in several London Hotels over the years as well as knowing the city well I can tell you this is Not the best experience, the rooms are quite old, staff can be a bit disenganging and unfriendly. Hospitality can be a lot better and the rooms needs renovation, no sockets, bathroom’s floor just gets wet easily and dirty. Hotel staff did not take time to offer a proper welcome and explain the hotel’s facilities. For the location it has and the price it should live upto a higher standard. Breakfast not worth it.
The hotel is tired and needs updating but staff very nice
The room was extremely tired and dirty, didn’t even want to take my shoes off. Clearly hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned prior to my stay, slightly off putting due to the current situation with Covid. When questioned with reception this was blamed on a cancelled refurb due to lockdown... sorry but that’s no excuse for how clean the room was. There were stains on the carpet, writing on the mirror in the bathroom in the condensation, mattress was circa 20 years old and there were wall plugs hanging out the walls in the bathroom. Have re-raised the issues with the hotel management via email and am awaiting a response.
Very friendly staff. On the negative side ,No spare toilet paper in the room and shower curtain looked a bit tired. Towels had better days too. The lights control did not work properly and it was only all the lights on or all the lights off which made going to the toilet in the night very difficult. The TV sound and picture completely out of sync. We were woken by the hotel alarm at 8:10 which was not appreciated as we only had a few hours sleep. Do not think we will return to this hotel.
The single Receptionist/Concierge/Breakfast room service women worked so hard and was so professional! She needs a reward! The hotel management needs to sort things out - cold rooms and no heating, no hot water, inadequate toiletries, and no room service! Kwek Leng Beng and City Developments Limited need to take care of their reputation.
The good things about the hotel included: it is located close (5 mins) to an underground station (Knightsbridge on the Piccadilly service); definitely clean with good amenities. The hotel restaurant was worth a return trip as the cuisine - Chinese - was tasty. However, overall hotel service could have been better: acknowledging persons standing while waiting to be served at reception that you’d soon attend to them is basic common courtesy and to be expected especially for the higher cost of the hotel rather than ignoring one’s presence. On the down side, unfortunately, there was no sound proofing - in our room anyway - and so all the street noise 12 floors up was quite loud, slamming corridor doors and patrons chatting and passing in the corridors prevented a comfortable night’s sleep. If you’re a light sleeper, you’d struggle in this hotel. The internet was weak at best with numerous pausing of movies and shows both on the television set in the room as well as our mobile devices and my iPad; a great disappointment and surprise considering we were in the middle of London. Otherwise, must honestly rate our stay as average - the rating propped up by the cleanliness and hotel room amenities. However, considering the nightly rate; the latter IS to be expected. Sadly, won’t stay again in a hurry.

Very rude and unfriendly front desk. Slow and unhelpful upon check-in. Conditions are very rundown and in need of a revamp.
