Hotel Capstone

Our stay was fine. The hotel was staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast we ordered through room service was excellent, especially the pancakes. I haven’t had pancakes that delicious in long time. Our only complaint was with the bathroom. I requested a room that was wheelchair accessible, which it was, except for the bathroom. What’s the point in having a bathroom door wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through if there’s not enough room within the bathroom for the wheelchair. And the shower is a true hazard. It had only one grab bar, and it was at the rear of the shower, where it had the least. The shower floor was very slick, with no anti-slip strips applied. And the person who decided that the shower head should be placed in such a manner that the person showering can’t avoid being drenched in freezing water when turning on the shower, should be fired. The shower experience was terrifying for me, as I have very limited mobility, and if not for that, I would certainly return for another stay, but if all their other rooms for the disabled are the same, then I just can’t take the risk of having an accident while showering.

When booking, it is stated that the rooms are empty for at least 24 hours between guests. That wasn’t the case for my room. There was no DND door hanger, so housekeeping ended up knocking. On our day of departure, we had a late checkout for 2 PM. Housekeeping tried coming into the room at 11:30 with their key...didn’t hear them knock, but saw the door open... luckily the deadbolt was on the door! -_-

Great location! Hotel is fine but needs renovating. Staff is polite and rooms are good - just starting to become outdated and show some wear. Overall, very pleased.

We arrived at 9pm, and our room was not ready (check in said 3pm, so that was odd). Front desk explained they had some issues getting the rooms ready bc of staffing that day. When we went to our room, the hallway was lined with cleaning carts, the rooms around were still being cleaned... nearly 9:45pm. We had noted that the hotel was not full, based on the parking lot. Yet we had guests in rooms around us, at the very end of the hallway (we were given room 301). We didn’t need an alarm clock because the baby in the room by us woke ready to eat at 6am. The ladies in the other room beside us were easily heard late that night. Not the baby, nor the other guests fault. Clearly the block of rooms they wanted to fill were side-by-side. That was disappointing, since it was easy to see they had plenty of rooms for the guests to be spread out. I will say, the breakfast sandwiches from the restaurant were tasty and very reasonable. The beds were comfortable. The room temp comfortable. We were there for a tour of the campus, and the location was perfect.

The location on campus was great for our campus visit however the facility is in need of upgrades. While breakfast was "included" the hot buffet which is served as you pick from the cold buffet was not. Then on Friday 1/15 they said the cold buffet was not included. Confusing. The staff was friendly but the lamp shade in the room was broken and the amenities in general were less than I expected. Bed were very comfortable and the 4 half size pillows were OK since my son gave me to of his!

Original room bed had sheets pulled back as if someone had napped in it. The shower rug and a bath towels were crumpled on the bathroom floor. We were given another room that was smaller and directly above the party room with music blasting until midnight. Once the music stopped, the party goers continued in their rooms and hallway. The carpeting throughout the hallways had paint drops. The bathrooms are severely outdated and drainage is an issue.
