Pousada de Sagres - Charming Hotel

Extremely clean , comfortable bed, pillows and really nice sheets. Large, powerful shower. We paid for a basic room and they upgraded us , no charge. Our balcony and view were fantastic. Breakfast was large and delicious. There was no coffee in the room and they supplied me with a kettle with cups. We accidentally locked ourselves out on our balcony (easy to do, be careful) and a young man came and let us out. Very professional staff, all speak English. Great hotel ! I’d give it a PERFECT score !

Great views and a sunny south facing balcony. Good location in walking distance of the town.

Extremely spacious guest rooms and public rooms in this sprawling former convent. Lovely having breakfast outside overlooking the spectacular rugged coastline.

The place is very old fashioned and I like that , but the first room placed for me have a problem in the shower... but the staff was very gentle and provide another room for us take a bath

This Pousada has a spectacular setting on the cliff above the sea. We loved watching the surfers from our balcony and it was easy to walk down to the beach. Sagres is a quiet town in late September/October. Several restaurants are within an easy walk from the hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet outside by the pool overlooking the fort across the bay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The public areas of the hotel are a little fancier than our room, but it was clean and comfortable. It was very quiet at night.

they do not refund, even with cancellation a month in advance. that is greedy.

A Stunning Venue for a very nice Hotel, Rooms were spacious, comfortable and a wonderful view from the Sea View room over the bay, Breakfast was also extremely good, lots of variety from Fruit, Continental Breads ans Cakes to almost a full English. But........ For a Hotel of this stature the Service left a lot to be desired, we arrived back at the hotel after a day out and decided to lay by the excellent outdoor pool and have a drink. No waiter service by the pool. I walked up to the Bar and pressed the bell to order a drink, a waitress arrived and I asked her for a Large draft Beer and a Gin and Tonic, 45 mins later I went back in to find out where our order was to find she was serving a number of other guests, who were not in the Hotel when we ordered our drinks, yes they eventually arrived about an hour after ordering. That evening we went into Sagres for a look around and got back to the Hotel about 10.00,we thought it would be nice to have a Coffee in our room on the Balcony. The sheer surprise from the Receptionist to our request was horror, I am sure we were not the first guest to ask for a Coffee in our room, we were told to go to the bar and order from their, fine we thought, We went to the bar and ordered two coffees with Milk, and a Brandy, our coffees arrived 35 mins later, they must have had to boil a big kettle!!! How a Hotel of this standing does not offer Tea and Coffee facilities in the room is surprising, but 35 mins foe a cup of coffee????

Pousada de Sagres is a very nice hotel - a little "tired", but overall it was really very nice. We had a great dinner in the restaurant, as well as a very good breakfast every morning. Overall, this is a really nice hotel. The staff is friendly helpful. The pool is great and bar menu for lunch & snacks is a plus.
