Hotel & Spa Villa Mercede

There was no shuttle as promised. The walk to the train station is on a very bad cobblestone walkway and a very busy street, not safe. Lyft and Uber don’t go the hotel, too far away. The hotel will call you an unregistered cab which is very expensive. No real air conditioning, room was boiling hot. There is a pool but you basically can use it from dinner time on because they seat people there for dinner. Staff is untrained and disrespectful and act like they are being inconvenienced to do their jobs.

Good hotel overall, friendly staff, room comfortable and clean. Great location near to the centre of Frascati.

It is a 10 minute walk along a small pavement on the main road to Frascati town and train station. The hotel looks ok, the pool is nice with lovely views of Rome, and is free for hotel guests, but it can get busy with children. The room was fine, nothing special and not soundproofed. No kettle or coffee machine and it is quite dark. The air con didn’t work very well but I didn’t spend much time in my room. You have to pay extra €30+ to use the spa, I did not use it. Staff are good.

It was a great hotel for the money, the only problem was the where letting people round the pool that where not staying in the hotel, the pool is not that big so it was very busy.

Good but they do not have a lot of veggie food on offer - small menu. They need to put pizza on the menu and chips for customers who can not eat the food on their menu as I could not eat anything.

I will stay here as many times I arrive in Rome.. very nice hotel and best staff..

Good location for me. Fairly close to the center of Frascati, easy to walk to a restaurant.

Relaxation haven. Be sure to book time at the spa and include time to enjoy the pool.

Overall we were very happy with our experience. Frascati is a great base for visiting Rome, as it's half an hour away by the ultra efficient, ultra clean and very cheap Italian trains. But the hotel also had a gorgeous swimming pool with views of Rome in the distance where we could chill out too. The guests were a mixed bunch of nationalities and the pool was never crowded. Our room was well furnished but had a window overlooking a side wall, so the lack of sunlight spoilt the overall experience. If you book, try specifying you want a room with a window with an unobstructed view. We had to complain about the sheets one night as my son's duvet cover had stains on it (juice I think). The hotel was very apologetic but it was noticeable we were not offered any form of complimentary recompense. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice for all tastes. We didn't have dinner here as we preferred to stroll into Frascati to soak up the atmosphere of local Italians out for their evening stroll. There's a great choice of local restaurants to suit all budgets. If you want to blow some serious money go have dinner at La Cacciana. This stunning terrace restaurant was awesome. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, so you may want to take a travel kettle. We would definitely go back to this hotel, it suited us vey well. It is a short 10 minute stroll down the hill from the centre of Frascati which was fine for us , but might not suit anyone with mobility issues.
