Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa (SG Clean)

I had a very good experience with staff and a comfortable stay.

The room is quite spacious but the maintenence is not so good. Tiles and walls seem blackened, and quite a number of bugs/insects in the room as the surrondings have greenery. The power of the Jacuzzi is also weak, so is not worth paying extra for a room with a private jacuzzi.

The hotel is not clean as advertised. The tea spoon. When we request for the extra bed when we check in, the receptionist told us the bed is big and asked us check the room first before request. After that, we still think we want a extra bed and request again via room phone. Then the receptionist told me last minute request and the bed is run out. Was very upset as my son is bigger now and when 3 of us sleep in a king size bed was very uncomfortable. Was basically cannot sleep well for the whole night.

Overall great service and environment. Enjoyed the rustic setting and the colonial building. Some areas need maintenance, like the pool decking.

I would not recommend staying in this hotel. Our checked-in was delayed until almost 6pm in the evening. And to our horror, the room was not properly clean as there was faecal stains on the toilet seat! It should Not be labelled as a SG CLEAN hotel. The compound and rooms were getting aged now. I believe they are short-handed, probably because of the lack of foresight on the surge in demand of staycations.

Because of the forested area surrounding the villa, i guess it cant help with the ants and mosquito situation. The resort could hv placed repellant to minimise it though. Also with the heavy rain, water started seeping through the bathrm area from the open bathtub. Housekeeping had to plce towels under the door to prevent rain water from cmg in.

Hotel staffs are friendly and responsive. The room is clean and tidy, but the bed is hard.

There’s a lot of mosquito and place looks kinda old for the overall feel. Service at the shuttles were not up to standard.

The hotel seems to be operating with fewer than necessary staff. (1) There was a long queue in the lobby on the day of my check in. (2) I requested for plates and spoons for my son’s birthday celebration, it never came. (3) we called for a buggy to help with our luggage, it never came. (4) There was only 1 staff at the front desk during check out. That staff was occupied, so we just dropped off our keys in the express check out box. It’s facilities are old and in desperate need of refurbishment. (1) The shower screen in my room was leaking, resulting in slippery floor. We almost slipped multiple times. (2) The bath tub had marks that looks suspicious. (3) The toilet blinds were broken. (4) The doors were not sound proof and let in light from the corridor. (5) The infinity pool had pieces of wood missing from the pool deck. Social Distancing Measures or Safe Distancing measures were not adhered to. (1) There was a large group in the next room. They partied till late and multiple ‘good nights’ were heard as the people left. Some remained till the wee hours of the morning and could be heard all the way past 4. Security was called in by me at 3+, but those left continued to talk, and I could not sleep all night. (2) There was a group of 7 or 8 in the jacuzzi, socialising with another 2 that were standing just next to the jacuzzi. (3) 2 families of 3-4 each were playing in the pool. The stay was a total disaster.

Pleasant stay and good food. Clean room with nice view from the balcony. RWS and Universal Studios are walking distance from the hotel.
