L'Herbier d'Orange

This was my first time visiting Orange and staying at L'Herbier. As a single traveller, I found my room to be large and although it didn't have air-con (some rooms do), the ceiling fan was extremely quiet and efficient. Nathalie and her daughter Lesley couldn't do enough to help and please. I really enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace at the front and both the croissants and baguettes were fresh with an excellent choice of coffee, teas, jams, cheese, cold meat and fruit. The hotel is very central giving easy access to sites, shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this small hotel.

Terrific location in the heart of the old town, just steps from restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly. The room remodel had an ensuite bathroom, but made this the interior space a bit tight.

staff was very friendly, breakfast extraordinairy; I didn’t like the roofless bathroom/toilet as part of the bedroom. Can’t tell if all the rooms are like that.

I have never given such poor review on a hotel, but I have to say it was a very bad experience with this L'Herbier hotel. I booked and prepaid this hotel very last minute on my flight to Europe. After a long drive from landing in Geneva, I with my 8 year old kid, found the hotel was closed and no staff at all when we got there around 10pm. Nobody ever gave me a call to confirm. The staff or the owner just don't care about their customer.

Amazing location; restaurant right above the water; breakfast was pretty basic, not great for the price we were charged.

Ideally located hotel near the old town centre. There is no car-park available on site, but underground parking available for a small charge about 3 mins walk. Rooms are small and a bit basic but perfectly functional for a brief stopover. Didn't try the hotel breakfast although it looked good, preferring to eat opposite the large historic theatre instead.

A perfect location in the heart of the town, but the charming square in which it stands is also peaceful. Very friendly service. Would definitely return.

Great location. The owner was very helpful and breakfast simple but delicious, especially the croissants. Two piece of information that was not clear was about air conditioning and parking. I thought parking was included but it actually costs 5 euros per day. It wouldn’t be a problem to pay but I wish it was clearly stated. Another thing is that the hotel was marked as having air conditioning but we only got a ceiling fan. It’s not sufficient to keep the room not hot during the day in the summer. At night temperatures go down but if you keep the windows open the noise and masquitos will keep you awake.

This was a basic, but very pleasant, room in a charming location. Right by the town square and the ruins of the Coliseum. I loved hearing the bell toll in the morning out my window. One caveat, there was no air conditioning which didn't bother us in early July but with the present heat wave, I'm not sure if it would bother. You can't do any better location wise and the staff was very friendly.

Accueil un peu tiède . Chambre agréable , calme . Petit déjeuner 9,50 euros un peu cher pour un breakfast continental.
