Devoncove Hotel

Bed was very uncomfortable. Lots of noise in corridors and room doors slam very loudly when they shut which woke us up several times. Had a broken hairdryer and had to phone reception 3 times to ask for a working one to be brought up which took an hour and a half in total.

For the price and location I was not expecting much but I felt in the current climate of the pandemic cleanliness was a given. The room itself was in perfect decorative order and it was clean. Bedding was spotless and bed was comfy carpet and furniture was also faultless. The bathroom however was disgusting. I had a room with a disabled shower. The shower chair was filthy with mould and lime scale. The tiles around the shower are had ingrained dirt and mould in the grouting. It was the worse bathroom I have ever seen.

Great hotel, very easy to get into main City centre, number 3 bus and number 77 . Very pleasant staff

Beds were comfy, great value!! clean, only issue was renovation on stay (but they were clearly trying to improve the appearance so you cant judge them on that)

Pleasant enough stay

we thought the Hotel was good enough that we booked for a 2nd night. the room was dated and some work was needed but it didnt stop us enjoying our time there. it is a Budget hotel and yes you get what you pay for. We would stay again. perfect if you are going to the SSE Hydro or a night out in town.

The room I had booked was an executive twin for my daughter and me. The room was clean but the beds were extremely uncomfortable, the two pillows on each bed were very very thin and were not enough to make one comfortable one, and the duvet was also very thin. The bathroom in the photographs were shown with a walk in shower but in our one there was a shower over the bath with an awkward layout. The toilet was in a very narrow area and there was no toilet paper holder on the wall. When first using it, the toilet paper had been placed on an out of reach. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special. There was a choice of cereal, some hot food and one or two yoghurts to chose from. Overall this was an adequate hotel, and was manageable for one night.

When I arrived the room was a twin bed room I’d asked for a double bed, I even made sure it was a double through both Expedia and the hotel but ended up with a twin bed. I managed to swap the room in the end (after waiting and hour in the lobby) but the room I ended up with, the window was leaking and the room smelt damp, I’d asked for a superior room but ended up with the basic and the tv didn’t work. Not a massive issue as I was only there one night but would not recommend. The hotel says they have parking however it is first come first serve on the streets. Not what you want after an 8 hour drive!

As a wheelchair user the access from the car park at the back of the hotel is a little steep however the hotel staff are very accommodating this is the only access for wheelchair users to the hotel. In side the hotel it’s wheelchair friendly the disabled room is excellent and the bathroom has one of the best showers I have been in.Breakfast is good their is no evening meals in the hotel however there are plenty of restaurants within 100meters of the hotel for all tastes All in all this is a very good budget hotel in a great location excellent staff friendly service and would rate it 9 out of 10
