Fantastic pub.Great to stay and explore the Dales.
Fantastic pub with amazing food and very good service. Dealing very well with the covid 19 situation. Nice rooms but fairly small, amazing breakfast and good vegan/vegatarian options as well. Greta location to explore the Dales.

Really nice pub in a fabulous location. We had a compact room, which was just that. As long as your can cope with a small bathroom, it is (was) fine. Evening meal and breakfast were really excellent in the Red Lion. Would call again.

Wonderful overnight stay.
My wife and I had a wonderful little overnight stay in Sep 2020. The staff were exceptionally helpful and always friendly in their demeanour. We enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant meal too - accompanied by a good selection of beer/ales. Ignore the negative reviews - this is a lovely place to stay!

Top area, nice place to stay
A very nice inn to stay at, the present owners moved in a couple of years ago. A lot of the building/s have been updated. The meals were nice although my wife had a salad and found a random chip on the plate :-) we had a good laugh and is an easy mistake to make. when we mentioned it to the waitress (as a funny comment) she didnt really seem bothered that the order was wrong.. Things aside this is a loverly pub and a nice area well worth the stay..

Staff were excellent and we enjoyed the food. We have always stayed in the main building and were pleased especially with the honeymoon room last year for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. This time we were in The Manor and were terribly disappointed. Very claustrophobic. We couldn't walk past the bed unless we walked sideways.

Rooms clean a very nice location. Breakfast excellent and a decent menu for evening meal. Service was also very good. Really enjoyed my stay.

Exceptional value for money. Charming bedrooms.
Bedroom with a lot of character. Great facilities, particularly the spacious bathroom. Dinner was exceptional, if not slightly overpriced. Possibly the best breakfast I've had at a B&B in the UK. Thank you to reception for lending us blister plasters!

hat an absolute find !!!
What a fabulous find !!! We stayed in the actual Manor House - room 40, last night 4th August. The place was absolutely heaving but it was a Bank Holiday. Check in - fab - warm- friendly - helpful. Room - yes great no problems at all- clean - nice bits and bobs in the bathroom - lovely BIG towels - shower works really well. Just a nice cosy clean room. Dinner now DINNER - an absolute WOW - not sure who you have cheffing but seriously it was absolutely fabulous we both had the salmon starter - the plate was just full of flavour and one of the best starters I have had in a long while , main course hubbster had cod it was perfect I had the beef stew - again absolutely superb, followed by the cheeseboard which we shared. Again - fabulous. We both had a great sleep - breakfast this morning was good, not as good as dinner but absolutely fine, staff again were fabulous. WELL done all what a find you are. xx
