Hesperia Ramblas

Event though was only one night . The hotel is good located close to the ramblas , La Boqueria , good restaurant . The staff is very friendly, the room clean , spacious and comfortable.

The room was very small. The bed was very hard. The bathroom had few places to put towels and limited sink space. Overall, not good. Location very good. Service was adequate to good.

We initially booked 2 nights at Hesperia at the beginning of our trip, and 4 nights at the end of the trip. After the first 2 nights stayed, we canceled the last 4 nights and re-booked into a different hotel. We stayed in a standard triple room. The first problem we encountered was check-in, the process was so slow. We waited 30-45min for check-in. Second problem, the A/C, the central AC system was so weak that we barely feel any cool air in the room. It was hard to sleep in mid-August with a room that has barely any A/C. We talked to the front desk about the problem, but they said that's as good as it can get. Third problem, leaking window, we woke up one morning and realized a puddle of water in the bathroom. It rain the night before, and the window was leaking. The final problem is an one that I have mixed feeling about it. I like how it situated at a very convenient location, very closed to the market and metro. However, it's tucked in a run-down and smelly alley way, one night when we were walking back to the hotel around 9pm, we saw some random guy just pee against the wall in the alley. Overall, the location is convenient, but also feel unsafe (especially late at night). That's why even the hotel locks their front door after certain time and the front desk have to buzz the door open.

Great location, very nice place, great staff.

Clean, comfortable, affordable hotel with a Metro station right around the corner. Located a block off of La Ramblas...good location to experience the true Barcelona culture.
