Moby Dick Inn

Was nice to come home for visit. See family and friends. Weather was nice . Food was not to bad. Next time smiles cafe for some seafood. Hopefully see everyone next year and to stay longer

The building is relatively clean compared to its age.I stayed 3 days, but no one attended the room, but that was fine for me. The front desk staff were helpful. The location was good because there were lots of food options around the area. It is about a 10 min walk to Cow Bay. Unfortunately, I came when lots of businesses were closed due to the pandemic.

I found my stay was very quiet. I did not hear much at all in the hallways or other surrounding rooms

Moss growing inside one of the window. Yes you read right, moss. Carpet was all wet due to water infiltration from that window (there had been heavy rains). Water from tap and shower was yellowish. Carpet smelled rotten. Not the kind of place you feel happy to be stuck in. Disgusting.

The hotel was in a convenient area, easy to get in and out of. We arrived and checked in our first room facing the back when there was semi nice view of the bay at front. The room had an old like smell reminding me of my dads closet. I asked to switch rooms for a front view and upon entering it there was the same decor and a old dad closet like smell. No air, so I used a little heater I found on cool setting. Glad it was rainy or we would have been sweltering. No microwave but out in the hall. But overall the room was ok but there was a sticky patch by my bed eww. If I ever come back I will most likely choose a nicer hotel. It was just my son and I for a fishing trip and we can take a lot. It definitely needs an update.

Heat of room and unable to cool room was very uncomfortable. It was 13C outside but the 4 th floor was unbearable hot. No electric plug-ins near the one small opening window, so using a fan to get air circulation was hard to get. No air conditioner. 1 microwave to share for whole floor. Laundry was on the 4th floor and heated the whole floor to extremely hot with one air conditioner in the hallway to be shared. Elevator would start opening door before elevator stopped on the floor. A group of 4 adults and there were only 2 towels until asked for them.

No one at front desk upon arrival. Up to room and key didn’t work. Back to front desk and no ones there again. Took forever to track someone down. Finally got key that worked.

Comfortable

For a 2 star hotel it was fine. The rooms were huge,the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was ok. The rug and the linoleum really needs to be replaced its permanently dirty looking.

It was ok. Good customer servIce. Just a little bit noise coming from the road traffic
