Milford Hall Classic Hotel

From reception to check-out, positive experience. Friendly, and helpful without being inteusove. Very posiitive wspecially in these trying covid times. Have already booked again.

The best thing about the Milford Hall is the staff. They are cheerful and helpful. I had a issue with a noisy boiler. Noise was not resolved but staff member pointed out that it stopped at 1030 when heating went off. Knowing that helped me sleep better.

A little run down, must be due a refurb, we didn’t think it was value for money

Check in very good the restaurant was extremely busy. In the morning we had to wait to be served and did not cater for lactose free or gluten fee was restricted on what we could have for our 10 breakfast.

Lovely staff, clean accommodation, comfortable stay.

Very nice room and ambience, close to town centre. Quiet location with aircon in the room which helped on a hot day. Meal was good too. Staff are very friendly.

The good things were that the staff, all young, were lovely, friendly helpful. The breakfast was very good, nicely cooked and served . Breakfast was booked in for times to ensure spacing. Location handy to walk into town. But disappointed with the room especially for the price. The photos show the attractive Georgian front of house but most of the hotel is a low level new er built annexe at the back. Our room was pretty dark, dated red carpet, looked out onto bushes and a wall close by. There was very poor WiFi in the room, at reception they explained as the hotel spread out , the connection was poor . Room was clean but smelt a bit musty. The towels were clean but again smelt musty, I think probably stored from before Lockdown and not rewashed. There was no soap in the bathroom just a tiny bottle of body wash, luckily brought own soap but surprised as usually provided. Unfortunately our showers on second morning started hot but after 2 or 3 minutes the water went icy cold, very unpleasant! There was a fan which was welcome but it was incredibly dusty. The room had good space, enough storage etc, quiet etc. I think I’d try somewhere else next time.

They seem to be coping with the covid19 situation well. Rooms are sealed after cleaning and social distancing rules apply at breakfast.

I normally stay in Holiday Inn. I thought I would give another hotel a go. Check in was great and efficient. I booked an "executive room" because I needed to work. The WiFi does not reach the room! When I asked at reception I was told that they would reboot the routers. A couple of regular guest told me that WiFi never reaches that part of the hotel. The room has an ironing board, but no iron. You are currently given a room key rather than a card. This is an issue because you need a card to operate the electricity. No way I am leaving my bank card in there. I had to wedge a pice of paper in there. The room is very warm. Great in winter, unpleasant in summer. There is an air conditioning machine that is set to 20 degrees and medium fan. You can either try and sleep through the noise of the aircon or put up with the heat. There is a notice in the room saying to dial 0 for reception if you have any issues. There is no phone in the room! I will continue to stay with Holiday Inn.

Comfortable and pleasant, perfect for a weekend trip.
