Golden Silk Boutique Hotel

This is my 5th time staying there. It is a great location with friendly and helpful staff.

Everyone is super nice. We’re on a busy road so it is a little unnerving to cross it, when we ordered a taxi the staff helped us cross the road to get to it.

We stayed for three nights in two rooms (2 nights - 1 night cruise Ha Long Bay - 1 night). Our first stay was fine - the hotel is a little dated but clean and tidy. The reception on the TV is bad but that didn’t really bother us. On our second stay, we arrived at reception at 5pm to be told there was a problem with one of our rooms and the hotel only had the presidential suite available for us. As we were three guests, we had booked a standard room and a luxury suite with twin beds. We were offered the Presidential suite and agreed to take a look at it - we went up and saw that two fold out beds had been placed into the room. As we were tired from our drive back from Ha Long Bay, we begrudgingly accepted. We enquires about a refund for one of our rooms, but we’re told that we were not getting a refund as the Presidential suite is bigger - totally missing the point of the fact that we had booked two rooms in order to have some privacy. The Presidential suite is certainly not suitable for presidents. The AC is very loud and unresponsive - the room was freezing cold regardless of the temperature set. The fold out beds were uncomfortable and of a much lower standard than the other hotel beds. The shower only had one setting - scalding hot. And in the main living area, there were some LED lights that could not be switched off, making it very difficult to get to sleep.

Clean and well kept and the staff was great and I liked the hotel but their wifi was not so good which was important because I was there on business.

This hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. The room was a little small by American standards, but more than made up for it with the gorgeous decor and ammenities.The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, helping us with tours, transportation and places to go that were within walking distance. The breakfast buffet had something for all tastes. If we go back to Hanoi again, we will definitely stay there.

We have rented a bike on our very first day. First day we parked our bike at the hotel with no issues however upon parking on the second night, the hotel bellboy was rude that telling us they dont provide parking for guest and telling us he doesn't know anyrhing and refer us to the receptionist, the receptionist told us that we cant parked our bike and need to park s ok somewhere else, we then ask to speak to the hotel manager and he just give us a name card. I am disappointed with the service that the hotel provided and wont recommend friend to stay un this hotel in future.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Golden Silk, and we received an upgrade to the beautiful Presidential Suite, which is AMAZING ! When booking, the larger rooms are on the front, and the difference is price is well worth it.

The room was clean and the staff was really nice. Unfortunately I have an issue with a room without a window to the outside. The room did have a window but it was to the inside hallway providing no daylight whatsoever.

Great stay good food in the restaurant too. Cool area
