Surf Villa Hotel

WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. The hotel was crawling with roaches. We took pictures and immediately told the owner and he tried to say that they don’t have roaches in OC. Roaches exist everywhere. Then he looked at our pictures and tried to say it was a cricket. Crickets look nothing like roaches. We were forced to stay the night since literally not a single other hotel had any rooms but we checked out 3 days early and went somewhere else. Not only the bugs, the mattress didn’t even feel like a mattress it felt like sleeping in cardboard. The hot water never got hot. There was mold in the rooms which we also took pictures of. Literally the dirtiest most disgusting place I’ve ever seen in my life.

Best thing about it is it was very clean, not musty or moldy. Simple basic but perfect for me. Owner very nice. I will return.

THIS PLACE IS A DUMP. THE MANAGER WAS RUDE AND VERY CONDISENDING

No one at counter to assist. Showers are 2x2 you can barely move. Towels with blood stains. I will never stay there again !

The room was ok in that it was clean. My and I are used to a certain amount of comfort and sorry but the bed was not up to our liking. I felt like I was laying on an angle.

They did not have enough on-site parking, the rooms were sub-par to motels ive gotten itchy in. No pool, no breakfast, 100$ smoking fee if we did. And the site is listed as closed 3 blocks from the site.

No hot water. Hotel is way outdated. Parking is almost 3 blocks away. Everything is either broken or overdue to be replaced. Only positive is there were no bugs.

Staff is great. Very friendly and attentive. Old building so the water supply is what you’d expect but gets the job done. The only thing I’ll comment on in a negative way is the typical expectations of a hotel stay. The towels were old and frayed and the bar soap is garbage. Also, there isn’t any of the sample size shampoos, etc. For the price I shouldn’t be surprised but I recommend to them that they invest in this little things.

The bed was horribly uncomfortable. Hard as a rock. You are given only 2 pillows and a sheet and very thin blanket. The tv barely worked. The room was so small and the toilet was so small.

Surf Villa had the most affordable accommodations for the three-day Saturday-Monday stay. It had a feel of a rented dormitory rather than a hotel or resort. There are stairs. The lobby is even located above the ground floor. The condition could use some repair (for example, the flooring in the shower) but many, if not all, beach residences and accommodations face yearly repairs due to wear and tear and environmental factors.
