Eco Boutique Hostal Grau

Its location is amazing but it’s really a hostel and not a hotel. Old rooms, ac not working in lobby, staff neutral, no TV in room, bathrooms not cozy — you get the picture.

I stayed in one of the apartments for two nights and I can't really fault it! The staff were very welcoming and friendly on arrival and both check in and check out were very straightforward. The apartment itself was super clean and consisted of a small hallway entrance, a decent sized bedroom, a small kitchen, and a living room area with a very comfy sofa and a television. The wooden shutters over the windows were a nice touch and came in handy for blocking out most of the lightning during a thunderstorm on my first night! However, I would say they weren't totally necessary as the apartment was generally quite dark - the windows faced a leafy wall, meaning they didn't let much light in, which could be an issue for some people. There was bottled water and a couple of little chocolates in the kitchen, which was a nice thought, plus mugs and tea and coffee. I took earplugs with me, but I didn't need them - the only outside noise I heard during my stay was the thunder! Overall, the apartment was fairly basic but was fantastically located, had a unique charm and was perfect for a short stay. I'd definitely stay again!

Couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Quaint, cute & quiet place close to the center of everything in Barcelona! Large private bathroom with shower in our room plus bathroom in hall. The extra bathroom worked great for 3 women traveling together. Air conditioner controlled in our room worked great. Elevator available to get to the rooms. Even though our room was large there were public areas for the guest on the ground level and our floor giving a family feel. Home made cake & coffee too. The staff was very helpful in guiding us to where we wanted to go. They provided maps & detailed information. We were able to buy tickets for the Hop On Hop Off Bus from the hotel (worked out great for us); the stop within walking distance. Loved it, would stay again.

Wonderful hotel. My wife was worried because it had the name "hostal" in the title, but it is a hotel and the location was great (near Las Ramblas), the people were as nice as they could be, the room was clean and comfortable (no TV, but we don't care). They serve Cava every night for free, and it was great. The cake they serve in the morning, not so much. Excellent value

Located on a side street steps from La Ramblas. Walking distance to museums and great dining. Easy walk to the subway. Clean and comfortable room. Always seemed quiet with the double glazed windows closed even though the foot traffic below was noisy. Wifi was plenty fast for our needs. Staff was courteous and helpful.
