Motel 6 The Dalles, OR

Pretty nice for a motel 6. Seemed updated. Rooms were nice size clean and comfortable.

I have never been treated so terrible and made to feel as stupid as the lady working made me. And I stay in a lot of hotels for work! I booked my mom a room and the nice afternoon lady knew the situation. I told her I was in California and meeting my mother there to drop my daughter off to spend time with her on our way back to Montana. Our company booked us at the mariott down the street but we booked her at motel 6 as they were pet friendly. After stopping there to drop my daughter off, and talking with my mom outside her room, the attendant came out so rude(honestly hateful) saying “CANT YOU READ?! IT SAYS NO GUESTS”. Trying to explain the previously arranged situation, she lied saying we were looking in windows and people were calling her scared for their safety, which couldn’t be true with us having just went out there. Also, she wouldn’t answer the call from my moms room after we left!! She made us all feel so terrible, I couldn’t be more upset and honestly hurt like I did something wrong standing outside making a plan for the following day with my mom who I never get to see. After a 13 hour drive, that is the last way I want my family to feel! She stood out there and basically watched us say our goodbyes the entire time. And to top it all off, the entire time she’s “reprimanding” us, standing less than 6 ft away I might add, she was not wearing a mask!!! She should be fired for the way she handled the situation, I certainly wouldn’t want her working for me.

Was clean,bed was broken and very uncomfortable.

I have used this hotel a few times. With the hassles from the virus things are tough everywhere, but Motel 6 has kept things pretty normal. Except no morning coffee! They do have canned starbucks in the machines, so I survived.

my husband made the reservation and said my friend was disabled because of a knee replacement and needed a ground floor. They gave us a handicap room and my friend was delighted to easily be able to take a shower!!

Dogs were barking inside the hotel. Two of our four beds had broken springs. There was not even any coffee in the hotel. The only food offered was a vending machine.

Cue to COVID rules, No Continental Breakfast. Beds too soft, (Staff never sleeps in beds!!--how could they know?). Loud neighbors, Truck Traffic. Staff was polite and helpful. We did not get restful sleep.

I suppose it's average for the price I paid. However, it would be nice if the walls in the rooms were wiped down from time to time. There was something splattered down the wall next to the table and something else on the wall next to the bed. Kinda makes a bad first impression. They had done some renovations to the rooms and it showed. Looked pretty nice, but I'm glad I only stayed one night.
