Les Artistes Inn

The property owner was wonderful. Upon arrival, she showed me our room which was set up beautifully with the patio door open to a tranquil water feature set beyond the patio. You feel like you are in some tropical setting. The room also had a modern bathroom and comfy beds. My one complaint was that there was a fair amount of hair on the bottom/backside of the toilet, what appeared to be dust on the bathroom sink and bottom/backside of the toilet and spider webs at various corners of the bathroom. It looked like the room hadn't been occupied for a while hence the dust and hair residue. Hair grosses me out so that was disappointing. Other than that, again, the staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to eat, getting to the beach, etc.

Walking distance to the beach, shopping and restaurants in Del Mar. Good A/C. Authentic place; like a chalet from France. We stayed in room Monet, ground level, even has a small french balcony facing a mini pond in the backyard. There is a french bakery across the road. Plan to stay again.

We enjoyed our 4 night at Les Artistes. View of the ocean, comfortable, interesting decor, coffee shop across the street, a few short blocks to downtown.

We’ve been going to this property for several summers and always enjoyed it. This time we felt different. Since we’re in a pandemic we called first and were reassured” everything is being sterilized after each guest” The room looked nice , beds nicely made and sheets seemed clean. Sadly the floor was not cleaned there was dog and people hair all over, sand on the shower floor Microwave and small refrigerator were not touched its a good thing I had disinfectant wipes with me. Did I mention they charged me $50 for my white little fluffy dog that I made sure to bath and groom the day before...He was sure cleaner than that floor. When I called and asked to be reimbursed for the dog charge they use “bad words“ and told me not to come back which we were not going to anyway.

I stayed in the Van Gogh room. The room was comfortable and the view incredible! Beautiful room with lots of quaint touches. Can't wait to book again on my next trip!

Completely charming and unique. Kind and considerate hosts. Lovely setting. Comfortable bed, pleasant bathroom. It was wonderful to sleep with the french doors wide open.
