The Royal George Hotel

Amazing service and breakfast. Perfect for 1 night.

The entire experience at this hotel was a nightmare, shower wasn't working, their was rubbish left under the bed, the music was so loud at check in i couldn't even hear the staff, i asked ahead for a late check out but my room was locked at 11am, no toilet paper, big puddle in the bathroom, that i couldn't even see to begin with as the lighting was so bad. They must have asked me about 20 times if i had paid for the room and at one point i had to show them the recipe. They tried to take payment before i even arrived at the hotel even though the booking was pay at property. I complained to the owner who told me at 11.30 pm that i could go elsewhere, i drove down from Leeds and only arrived at 9pm (i told the hotel ahead of time that i would be doing a late check in) as soon as we arrived (we were 3 people) we checked in an went ti get a bite to eat). The only nice thing that i can say is the lady who cooks the breakfast was very nice and kind. Oh and when i checked out i was again asked if i had paid. Oh in the morning i was allowed to use another room to have a shower and when when i was taken to that room in the morning a member of staff told " oh yeh the shower in your room doesn't work", the manager who came in the night pretended to be surprised. I do not recommend this hotel nor will i ever go back.

The breakfasts taffeta were lovely but the check in staff were unfriendly and not helpful. Car parking was terrible and it took an hour to get park because of the football match. The rooms were general OK but I found hairs in the bath room as and a false nail on my carpet. There was a lot of noise from the outside. On the plus side, the beds were very comfy.

Although there was a football match on , this didn’t ruin our stay at all, the staff still made time and looked after us very well, we will definitely be staying again :)

Very old run down pub. No loo rolls in bathroom, and waste bin full of someone else's rubbish...not nice

The room was spacious, lovely comfortable bed & decent shower. Worth the money 😃

The very comfortable bed was the best part of this hotel and enabled me to have a really good sleep. The bathroom was perhaps a little worn but at the very cheap price of the room it was a better standard than anticipated. It has 'Key card' entry for the room, which also opens the external door of the hotel, thus allowing very easy re-entry out of normal hours. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, I shall definitely be staying here again.

Walked in there wasn’t even a proper reception was a bar! Bedroom was disgusting so dirty! Broken window which didn’t close and they stuff tissue down the sides, bed frame was dirty, floor was disgusting in room and bathroom, walls were dirty and had wholes in them! We looked at another room and was exactly the same! We couldn’t even stay it was that disgusting! Tried to speak to manager and staff told us loads of excuses!

Very pleasant and unbelievably cheap

Room was nice and clean. Although, lights hanging out of ceiling visibly broken. Room smelled of bleach upon arrival, and showers not as shown in the pictures. Overall my stay was pleasant but there is definitely room for improvement in the maintenance of the rooms.
